Chapter 2 Selling the House

"Don't just remember my faults. I've sacrificed myself to get you 10 million."

Suppressing her sadness, Zuo Ling nodded honestly:

"Yes, thank you for your efforts. I'll wake up smiling in my dreams."

Zheng Ming: "..."

Why doesn't he recognize Zuo Ling anymore? She's like a completely different person.

Zuo Ling nudged him, "Let's go quickly, don't keep her waiting."

The car was left to her; it was obvious that the female boss was waiting downstairs.

"You... take care of yourself, don't let anyone know you have this money, including your family, they..."

Zheng Ming reminded Zuo Ling that, in his eyes, Zuo Ling was incredibly naive.

He hesitated, wanting to say something but stopping himself; he couldn't say much about Zuo Ling's family. He hugged Zuo Ling, turned around, picked up his bag, and went downstairs without looking back.

After closing the door, Zuo Ling collapsed onto the sofa, feeling utterly exhausted.

The building was deserted, and loneliness washed over me. I sat there for a long time, my face streaked with tears.

Unbeknownst to Zuo Ling, Zheng Ming spent a long time wiping away tears in the stairwell before leaving with the female boss.

Patting his chest, he comforted himself: "The end of the world is coming soon, there's no time for sentimentality."

Three days later, the divorce was finalized, and everything related to Zheng Ming was completely over.

Holding the newly issued property certificate, Zuo Ling wasted no time and went straight to the sales office of the residential complex.

The person who greeted Zuo Ling was a handsome young man.

"80% of the market price, full payment, and I need it quickly. Also, give me two months to move."

Zuo Ling made her request directly.

The subway line just opened near the neighborhood, so the houses won't be hard to sell.

The handsome young man's eyes lit up when he heard that the price was 20% of the market price, and he even tried to negotiate a lower price.

Before he could speak, Zuo Ling pulled back the property deed: "If it's too much trouble, I'll look for another company."

The handsome young man immediately changed his tune:

“No problem, no problem. The subway just opened nearby, and houses are selling very well. We can take them first.”

After a moment's hesitation, he said:

"Your apartment and floor level should be worth around 3.3 or 3.4 million. How about I give you 2.6 million?"

"make a deal."

Zuo Ling was very decisive.

The handsome young man quickly reported to the person in charge that this deal was too profitable. The person in charge was afraid that Zuo Ling would change her mind or turn to another agency, so he immediately made the payment and completed the formalities the next day.

The same young woman who handled the paperwork was the same one who issued the property certificate to Zuo Ling. She stared at the certificate for a long time, wondering why it had been sold again just yesterday. Did she think we had nothing better to do?

Well, if they're willing to pay the country money, then there's plenty of business like this.

The young girl was secretly pleased while grumbling to herself; they, too, had performance evaluations.

Another sum came in, bringing the total to 12.6 million...

Zuo Ling couldn't bear to look at the small change in the account. No matter what, with this money, she could stock up on a lot of goods, which would make her better off than most wage earners and greatly increase her chances of survival.

Now, we're just waiting for the Ding family to arrive.

In my previous life, the Ding family found me in mid-September.

After thinking for a moment, I dialed a phone number, and an old voice came from the other end:

"Girl, it's been a long time since you called home."

It was her grandmother. Zuo Ling's nose tingled with emotion. She had been adopted by her grandmother.

The person who treated her best in the Zuo family was her grandmother.

Her adoptive parents didn't tell her that she was adopted. She had some doubts about things that happened when she was a child, especially her adoptive mother's blatant favoritism towards her two older brothers.

She deceived herself into thinking it was due to the preference for sons over daughters, a serious problem in the countryside where girls were often disliked by their parents.

After graduating from junior high school, her adoptive mother wouldn't let her continue her studies.

She eventually arrived in Kyoto to do odd jobs. Her rented roommate was taking the adult college entrance examination and thought she was quite good, so she gave her some pointers.

She signed up, studied diligently for two years, and finally passed the exam, but her fate did not change because of it.

Kyoto is home to numerous universities and prestigious institutions, not to mention the large number of overseas returnees.

In the eyes of most corporate HR professionals, a girl from the countryside with an adult college entrance examination diploma is equivalent to having no diploma at all.

Without a diploma or connections, the only jobs available are in private companies.

Good private companies are extremely rare, and getting in depends on luck, and unfortunately, she wasn't lucky.

After working for a few years, another unfavorable factor has emerged: a lack of solid work experience.

If you want to start a business, where does the start-up capital come from?

Earning a fixed salary means not only covering daily living expenses but also saving money to cope with the risk of unemployment.

Year after year, day after day, they struggled in the mire.

Zheng Ming's situation was similar to hers.

She was tired, and so was Zheng Ming. The female boss offered him an olive branch at the right time, and Zheng Ming, who was eager to get out of his predicament, naturally seized the opportunity.

In her previous life, she understood Zheng Ming, but still blamed him for betraying her, causing a huge commotion.
