The idea of robbing Scorpion was his. On the surface, more than 300 people died at the hands of Scorpion, but in reality, it was because he made a wrong decision and misled the people, bringing disaster to Tangren Village.
If an apology works... then go even further and say that if he could bring more than 300 people back to life by atoning for his sins with his death, he would be willing to do so.
But what good is it? His life can't bring back 300 lives.
With a dejected wave of his hand, Guo Qi turned his back and said in a nasal tone, "Let's go, it's alright."
Di Fei and Chen Hao could see the tears welling up in their elder brother's eyes.
The two suddenly noticed that their usually upright elder brother had a slightly hunched back, and his short hair was almost entirely devoid of black strands.
Her nose stung, she looked away, and walked quickly away, haphazardly expending her excess energy by carrying and lifting things.
Zuo Ling and the others returned in a beat-up van and an off-road vehicle, bringing the waterfall and the snowy night with them.
At first glance, it seems... maybe... probably, none of them are missing.
Those who could move were tidying up the camp.
Guo Qi didn't let everyone leave?
Zuo Ling clapped her hands, her voice rising in a tone that tried to convey some joy, "We were lucky, we robbed a rich family and brought back a sheep, half a pig, and some rice, flour and cooking oil. Let's have a good meal today."
A sheep and half a pig? A crowd gathered around.
I haven't seen poultry for years; I can't even dream of seeing words like sheep or pigs.
He Xiao squeezed through the crowd. The sheep had already been skinned, with ice crystals on it, and the pork still had fresh red blood streaks, both exuding an icy chill.
The gurgling sound started with the sound of swallowing saliva, followed by a series of rumbling belly sounds.
Everyone's starving, no one should be ashamed, none of them will amount to anything.
Zuo Ling handed Lin Sao a large bag of spices:
"What a coincidence! I found a packet of spices. It looks like it's been stored for a long time. I don't know if it'll work. I'm not very good at handling these things. Sister Lin, it's up to your skills."
Aunt Lin's face lit up with joy: "No problem, just wait to eat."
Everyone watched as Zuo Ling and her brother unloaded 10 bags each of rice and flour, 10 barrels of cooking oil, a box of refined salt, a box of white sugar, half a box each of honey and milk powder, more than a dozen bags of various dried vegetables, two boxes of daisy noodles, and two boxes of canned fish and meat from the car.
The surprise was a box of various soy sauces and vinegars, and two bottles of Lao Gan Ma chili sauce.
In the post-apocalyptic world, seasonings are extremely scarce. Being able to use even a little coarse salt is a blessing. It's been years since anyone has seen what seasonings look like.
Last but not least, Pei Nansheng unloaded two boxes of medicine from the car.
Upon seeing the medicine, everyone nearly burst into tears, for the Tangren Village was on the verge of extinction because of it.
Zuo Ling kept a little of everything for herself and gave the rest to He Xiao, saying, "You can divide it among everyone."
He Xiao's eyes flashed repeatedly. Why did he feel that Zuo Ling had stored these things herself?
But what if Pei Nansheng and his sister have a cold storage here?
If not, how do you explain the ice on pigs and sheep?
And what about those two missing cars? Where did they hide them? And what about the two little ones?
He Xiao had too many doubts in his mind. He shook his head, thinking that this was not the time to think about these things. He told people to move the things to the warehouse, make a record, and then talk about the distribution.
After everyone had left, Guo Qi approached Zuo Ling and Pei Nansheng.
I moved my lips, wanting to say thank you, but the words were too soft, and the words "thank you" were too heavy. I tried to say it several times, but I just couldn't get the words out.
The two bombs not only destroyed their homes, but also shattered their will to live.
After Guo Qi finished speaking, no one left. It wasn't that they didn't want to leave, but that they didn't know where to go.
If we go out, will we find a way to survive?
Rather than saying that Zuo Ling and her brother brought back food and medicine, it would be more accurate to say that they brought back the hope of survival.
Pei Nansheng patted him understandingly, "Don't think too much, just live one day at a time."
