As night deepened, the stars shone even brighter.
Ah San's mind was in a complete mess, and he wasn't sleepy at all.
There was a rustling sound, and specks of green light were moving. Ah San stared at the green light.
After getting a clear look at the environment where Ah San was, Green Light seemed incredulous. He took a few steps back, looked around warily, and quickly locked onto the three treehouses.
With its four hooves pawing the ground, the three dogs, unable to contain themselves, pounced and tried to tear open the wooden cage. They couldn't bite it open, and when they tried to push it over, they still couldn't move it.
Ah San smirked. He had already tried it; the wooden cage was nailed to the ground and couldn't be moved at all.
A path opened up in the middle of the wolf pack, and a strong and graceful silver-white wolf walked elegantly to the wooden cage.
It raised its head, its eyes filled with disdain, as if asking, "You good-for-nothing, how did you end up in a cage?"
Someone like you, do you deserve to be our king?
Ah San looked at it coldly. He and the silver wolf were mortal enemies, neither of them willing to submit to the other, and they had fought countless battles.
Overall, he has a slight edge.
The silver wolf only knows how to fight fiercely; he's much smarter than it.
Of the wolf pack that came, one-third were his loyal followers, one-third belonged to the Silver Wolf, and the remaining one-third were two-headed wolves.
The silver-white wolf patted the wooden cage with its paws, its sharp snout wide open, seemingly quite satisfied with the sturdiness of the cage.
After turning their heads and growling a few times, several wolves darted into the woods.
The Zuo family woke up before the wolf pack got close.
Xueye peeked out and took a look, but his legs trembled and he immediately shrank back.
The waterfall, being a clever fellow, darted along the bridge beam and onto Zuo Ling, seeking protection.
Pei Nansheng and Xiao Hao stood on the high place, coldly looking down.
The silver-white wolf looked up at Zuo Ling's family, growled a few times, and the wolf pack's formation changed in an orderly manner.
Most of them confronted the die-hard Indian supporters, while a small group stood guard under the treehouse, baring their teeth and making threatening gestures.
A few aggressive ones tried to climb the tree.
The two groups of grassmen, a small portion of whom gathered under the treehouse, mostly withdrew from the battle to observe how things would develop.
Zuo Ling watched the wolf pack below with great interest. She had originally thought the wolves had come to rescue Ah San, but judging from the scene, it seemed that wasn't the case.
After a while, several wolves ran back, each with a handful of grass in its mouth. One of them had a snake in its mouth!
The snake was as thick as a child's arm, and Ah San's eyes narrowed.
The silver wolf lightly trotted its front hooves and placed the grass and snake in front of the wooden cage.
A commotion broke out among the Indian loyalists, and two wolves rushed out and started fighting with the silver wolf's henchmen.
More and more wolves joined the fray, and the scene descended into chaos.
Xiao Hao stared wide-eyed, while Xue Ye timidly poked out her dog head. What was going on? Why were they fighting amongst themselves?
The Indian man's eyes were bloodshot, and he lay prone on all fours, like a wolf poised to pounce, constantly emitting sharp howls.
The Indians were trapped, and their loyal followers were no match for Silver Wolf. They were forced to retreat in defeat and were driven further and further away by Silver Wolf and his men.
The silver wolf howled, and apart from a few guarding the treehouse, the other wolves all retreated, leaving only specks of green light wandering through the forest.
What's going on? The three siblings were completely baffled.
After waiting for more than an hour, I heard a rustling sound.
Ah San was tense all over, staring intently at the source of the sound. Large beads of sweat pelted the wooden beams, making a barely perceptible crackling sound.
A dozen or so snakes with pointed heads, black and white stripes, as thick as an adult's arm, and several meters long, slithered towards us.
The dead snake on the ground had the same pattern as the one that came later.
Upon spotting their target, the snakes became agitated, hissing incessantly and increasing their speed by more than double.
Silver Wolf wants to use someone else to kill the Indian!
Zuo Ling looked at A-San, who was gripping a wooden splinter tightly, his eyes revealing a resolute determination to fight to the death.
Xiao Hao was startled. Where did the wooden splinter come from?
He had already searched Ah San's body thoroughly. He was keeping a close eye on Ah San, who had hidden a wooden splinter right under his nose. If he wasn't careful, Ah San might get hurt...
Xiao Hao couldn't help but shudder.
