Chapter 284 Yellowing in the Blink of an Eye

When Ah San and Xiao Hao arrived at the scene, they saw that the Zhao family's Jin lineage members had been eaten by vines until not even bones remained.

Having lived on the island for many years, Ah San knew about the blood-sucking vines and warned his wolf cubs which places to avoid, but he certainly didn't include the area near the pond.

How did vampire vines end up here?

He took a few steps forward, wanting to examine the area more closely, but Xiao Hao grabbed him and gestured for him to look at his feet.

The vivid blood-red patterns spread under his feet, and Ah San frowned.

Looking around, the mountains and fields were covered with these boundless blood-red patterns, like a romantic and eerie red carpet.

The pattern resembles both some kind of ancient script and a living, breathing blood vessel; as it contracts, you can see the blood flowing slowly within.

Ah San could smell the blood emanating from inside, his hair stood on end, his eyes flashed with fierceness, he yelled at Xiao Hao, and with a light tap of his toes, he leaped up into the tree.

Xiao Hao also sensed the danger, and, swatting away the tentacles that were reaching for him from the vines, leaped up into the tree.

The vines made a soft whirring sound, their tentacles reaching upwards, and Ah San and Xiao Hao simultaneously darted upwards.

The vines followed closely, their tentacles rising high, flashing with cold light as they were cleanly severed, releasing a cloud of blood mist. The stench of blood attracted even more vines.

Ah San let out a series of howls, warning his wolf brothers to run away quickly.

The entire island is sealed by blood-red patterns; where can we run to?

At this time, the island was like a living hell, with scenes of everything being drained clean.

Wolves, rats, pheasants, rabbits, crocodiles... none of these creatures could escape the clutches of the blood-sucking vines. Like wheat being cut down by the wind, swathes of life disappeared.

The trees have faded, leaves have fallen, flowers and grass have withered, and the lush island has turned yellow in the blink of an eye.

Realizing something was wrong, Zuo Ling quickly sent the waterfall and snow night into her spatial dimension, while she and Pei Nansheng went to find Xiao Hao and A San.

Evil creatures fear fire, and the blood-sucking vines are no exception. Zuo Ling followed behind Pei Nansheng, searching all the way up the mountain.

"Xiao Hao, Ah San..."

"Xiao Hao, Ah San..."

"Xiao Hao, Ah San..."

Hearing Zuo Ling calling him, Ah San cried out in alarm, trying to tell Zuo Ling not to come over.

He and Xiao Hao were surrounded by vines and encountered danger one after another, which was extremely difficult to deal with. Sensing that the situation was not good, A-San did not want Zuo Ling to get involved as well.

"They're over there."

Zuo Ling pointed in a direction.

Pei Nansheng thrust out tongues of fire forward, and Zuo Ling ignited her black fire within them. With a bang, a fire dragon shot out for over ten miles.

The ground emitted a childlike wail of pain, and the blood-red patterns shrank back, much like living creatures afraid of pain. The blood-sucking vines that had been attacking the two retreated like a tide.

"Brother, look."

Zuo Ling pointed to the ground.

Their attention was entirely focused on the vampire vines, and they didn't notice the strange patterns on the ground.

The pattern was burned by the fire, and many parts were damaged, with bright red blood gushing out.

"What the hell is this thing?"

Pei Nansheng remained silent and continued to push out the flames, while Zuo Ling fired incendiary bombs into them.

Boom... A small patch of woods caught fire, wow, wow, wow...

The eerie patterns seemed to have grown legs and quickly moved towards a safe area.

In the land of Shu, there is a secret cave.

The old man exhaled a long breath, and his face, which had been a hundred years old, had returned to the appearance of someone in their seventies or eighties. His once silver hair had turned gray.

The heart-shaped object hanging on the wall was half deflated.

The fine threads seemed to convey emotions; the old man's eyes were cold and stern, and his lips were downturned.

Having planned this for a century, how could we let you get away? A glint of light flashed at his fingertips: "Go."

A flash of fluorescence entered the heart-shaped object, radiating a brilliant, transparent red light, revealing countless capillaries in minute detail.

Wow, wow, wow... The eerie patterns that received the command surrounded Zuo Ling and Pei Nansheng with fear and trepidation.

The flames Pei Nansheng unleashed only forced them back for a moment.

"Are they really alive?"

Zuo Ling guessed.

"It must be manipulated by someone."

Zuo Ling was shocked; what kind of method was that?

The cargo ship was also attacked by the vampire vines.

After arriving on the island, the people on the cargo ship lived a relatively peaceful and stable life for a while, and everyone was working hard to survive.

Some went into the woods to pick wild vegetables, some went down to the river to catch fish, some searched for firewood...

After the incident with the blood-sucking vines, we dare not go deep into the mountains, but we still have to go to the outer areas.

Everyone was very vigilant, and every time they went into the forest, they carried weapons such as knives, guns, and ammunition.

Some sharp-eyed individuals spotted the blood-red patterns, realized something was wrong, and immediately called for their companions to escape.

"Run, run, run..."

The series of natural disasters have caused people to suffer greatly, and even the slightest disturbance can startle them like rabbits.

People fled in panic, and when they heard the first scream, they ran even faster.

Not one dared to look back; they all had only one thought in their minds: escape, escape, they had to escape.

They were fast, but the blood-sucking vines were even faster. Half of the villagers were entangled, and in just a few breaths, only a pile of hair and a few pieces of clothing remained.

The panicked cries alerted Guo Qi, Yang Chengang, He Xiao, and others.

"Monster! Monster eats people! Monster is coming..."

Several fast runners, panting heavily, ran aboard the boat.

"What's wrong? What happened?"

The men were panting heavily. None of them dared to turn around. They saw nothing, only heard screams, and didn't know how to describe it.

“I…I saw blood-red patterns on the ground. The patterns were very strange, so we ran and ran back.”

"Crimson patterns? In..."
