Chapter 334 The Smoke of War Dissipates

The plane circled the area once, and Zuo Ling threw wild animals around while observing the ground conditions.

The blood-sucking vines came quickly and retreated just as fast; the old man wasn't fooled, and Zuo Ling lamented.

She felt sorry for them, but the fleeing 'lambs' didn't. Once they realized the blood-sucking vines were gone, they were all so exhausted that they sat on the ground, panting heavily.

He kept replaying the image of his companion being drained of his life force, leaving him withered and lifeless.

That's terrifying! That's terrifying!!

After firing more than 30 RPG shots in a row, Xiao Hao's hands were trembling from exhaustion.

At first, it was very enjoyable, but after playing it a lot, it became quite boring.

They flashed into the space along with their machine, and the three siblings gulped down the space well water.

Pei Nansheng asked Xiao Hao, "How are you? Can you still hold on?"

Xiao Hao nodded vigorously and patted his chest, "No problem."

My older siblings value this so much, we absolutely cannot let them down at this crucial moment.

While drinking water, Zuo Ling observed the outside world. The mountains and forests looked as if they had been dug up dozens of times by their bombing. There was fire and smoke everywhere.

Zheng Yecheng cautiously poked his head out to look for the helicopter, but after searching for a long time, it was gone. Where did it go?

He had a good hiding spot, surrounded by rocks, barely avoiding the blood-sucking vines.

Several bloodsucking vines nearly bit him, but he was saved by wild animals thrown down by Zuo Ling.

With a roar, Zheng Yecheng was delighted; the three helicopters reappeared.

At the same time the helicopter appeared, a strange, incomplete pattern appeared on the ground, covering the entire mountain forest.

Without any communication, the three of them pressed the launch button simultaneously. Boom, boom, boom...

With each missile that lands, a piece of the eerie pattern is missing.

With a clanging sound, thousands upon thousands of rubble rose up from all directions, colliding and shifting with each other.

From high above, the paths of the rubble intertwine to form a living, eerie pattern.

Most of the eerie patterns on the ground were destroyed. The swirling and flowing of the pebbles was sometimes slowed down, but there were so many pebbles that they made up for the damage to the patterns.

The gravel net appeared too suddenly, and there was no way to avoid it. The gravel struck the helicopter fuselage, making heavy or sharp scraping sounds.

Just by listening to the sound, you can tell that many places have been pierced by gravel.

Zuo Ling felt a chill run down his spine.

The helicopter was moved into the space. Once inside, they found only her and Xiao Hao; Pei Nansheng's helicopter had failed to enter.

Xiao Hao was shocked and immediately struck his own neck.

Before Zuo Ling could even check on Xiao Hao, she transformed into a swift and flashed out of the space.

She wasn't in the space; the space excludes living people, a fact both brothers knew, so Xiao Hao knocked himself unconscious immediately.

In just a few seconds, Pei Nansheng's helicopter had its front window shattered, the fuselage riddled with large and small impact holes, and thick black smoke billowing from the tail. It looked like it was about to crash.

Zuo Ling flew over without regard for anything, clutching a blue energy crystal in each of her claws, and silently chanted "Go in".

The helicopter seemed to be wrapped in sticky candy, and no matter how hard it tried, it couldn't be pulled out.

With a loud bang, the tail of the plane caught fire.

Realizing that his life was coming to an end, Pei Nansheng smiled and gestured to his sister.

Take good care of yourself and live well with Xiao Hao.

I couldn't understand what my brother's gesture meant, but I could guess.

Zuo Ling's eyes were bloodshot. She pulled out four more blue crystals and began to struggle against the unseen force.

Inside the cave, there was a withered, aged old man, half of his body as black as ink, while the other half remained the same shape and color, but had become smaller.

If an outsider were here, they would find it hard to believe how the bodies of an old man nearing the end of his life and a seven or eight-year-old child could be combined.

The old man was soaking wet, his face contorted in a terrifying grimace, his eyes filled with utter madness. "Come on, my darlings, you've kept me waiting far too long..."

An invisible force struck, and the old man couldn't withstand it, falling backward violently.

In the final moments before the helicopter was about to explode, Pei Nansheng smiled and said to his sister:

Farewell...

After a long while, the expected explosion did not occur. Pei Nansheng opened his eyes and saw Zuo Ling with red eyes, laughing and crying at the same time.

Looking around, the flames on the fuselage of the helicopter he was piloting stopped at a certain moment. He sniffed and could smell the burnt smell.

Xiao Hao sat crookedly in the driver's seat, his features obscured.

Pei Nansheng immediately understood what had happened, loosened his seatbelt, pushed open the cabin door, and said with a smile:

"Hi, beautiful, the weather is nice."

Zuo Ling was both crying and laughing; at that moment, she truly believed she was going to lose her brother.

The onlookers were practically glued to their screens.

The helicopter kept appearing and disappearing, and I kept rubbing my eyes, thinking I was hallucinating.

The sight of thousands of stones forming a net to surround and capture the helicopter made onlookers hold their breath.

"Where's the helicopter? Has anyone seen it go?"

"Was that helicopter on fire just now? I didn't see that wrong, did I?"

"Yes, I saw it too, black smoke was coming out of the tail."

"Did the helicopter crash? Has anyone seen it?"

"..."

Everyone was speechless; no one understood what had happened.

One person screamed:

"It's over, the helicopter is gone. Did we fail? Are we stuck here?"

The glimmer of hope we finally saw was extinguished before we could even smile, which is hard for everyone to accept.

Someone shouted, "Helicopter, where are you? Come out... um, um."

"Are you out of your mind? Summon the man-eating vines again."

Once reminded, no one dared to speak.

A woman sobbed softly, "It's over, it's over, we can't get out, are we going to be trapped here and die?"
