Chapter 4 Energy Crystals

Otherwise, they would never have quoted such a price.

"Two pieces for 300."

The stall owner's eyelids twitched. Hey! Here comes someone who doesn't play by the rules.

He said with dissatisfaction:

"Girl, you're such a bargainer! If you keep bargaining like that, I won't even be able to afford my underwear."

Zuo Ling smiled:

"Brother, you're joking. Crystal isn't worth much. If I buy it at the price you suggested, I won't even have enough to wear underwear."

To ordinary people, energy crystals are just ordinary crystals, hence Zuo Ling's statement.

It's rare for a young woman to wear her underwear up to her mouth, so the stall owner found it quite unusual and laughed:

"500, you have to let me make some money. Girl, the price you're offering is too low."

Zuo Ling picked up the pale green jade and started finding fault with it:

"Brother, it's not that I'm trying to rip you off, but it's so thin, I can't make beads from it. There's even a risk of it breaking, and then the material would be wasted. I can only make a small pendant."

He then pointed to the blue jade:

"This piece is thicker, but unfortunately it's not in good condition and isn't clean. It's only good for carving a small trinket. 300 is not bad."

It's common for customers to nitpick in order to lower the price; the stall owner is used to it and doesn't get angry, just waving his hand dismissively.

"The minimum is 400. If that's not enough, you can try another store."

"350, please step back, I'll step aside too."

"..."

The two haggled over the price, using a mix of truth and deception, and finally settled on 350.

Once the sale is done, the stall owner will, as usual, say:

"I didn't make any money from this order. Next time you want to carve something small, come to my stall again. I should at least make some money."

"Okay, okay, I'll definitely come, I'll definitely come..."

Having bought the jade she wanted, Zuo Ling was in high spirits and exchanged a few polite words with the stall owner.

Suppressing her joy, Zuo Ling visited all the remaining stalls but couldn't find what she needed.

Satisfied, I returned to the car and couldn't wait to take out the two pieces of jade and examine them in the sunlight.

Both are energy crystals, but people don't recognize their value and sell them as ordinary crystals.

In her previous life in the Ding family, Zuo Ling learned that energy crystals are divided into 10 color systems: cyan, orange, yellow, green, blue, red, purple, black, white, and gold.

Each color family is further divided into different subcategories.

Blue is the lowest grade. For each higher grade, crystals of the same color, quality, and volume have 10 times the energy of the next lower grade, but their value is not measured in ten times, but rather much higher.

Each person who awakens a special ability can absorb different energy crystals.

The highest-level energy crystal that Zuo Ling absorbed from the Ding family was yellow.

I heard from a member of the Ding family that the green, blue, red, and purple energy crystals were available when I was on a mission.

The Ding family never allowed Zuo Ling to absorb anything, and Zuo Ling, being very honest, didn't ask.

Black, white, and gold energy crystals exist only in legends; no one has ever seen a real one.

Among energy crystals of the same color family, the darker the color and the cleaner and more transparent the texture, the greater the energy.

The cyan energy crystal that Zuo Ling bought was the lowest grade, and even so, it was not very common.

She was lucky; she had absorbed something similar in her previous life, so she wasn't worried about not being able to absorb it.

He flipped his hands over, sighed, and realized that he couldn't absorb the energy crystal to awaken his spatial abilities yet; he would have to wait for the Ding family to arrive before he could absorb it.

She lived a muddled life in the Ding family and never paid any attention to anything.

I haven't checked whether the Ding family has any methods to detect the activation of supernatural abilities, so I can't take the risk.

Zuo Ling learned by chance that baking soda could prevent the absorption of supernatural abilities.

She didn't understand the underlying principle.
