Chapter 73 Stone City

Fearing the waterfall might object, we didn't eat at the stall and ordered two takeout meals instead.

The shopkeeper kindly reminded her, "Young lady, the pork belly noodles taste best when they're hot; they won't taste good when they're cold."

After thanking the shopkeeper, I turned around and, taking advantage of the fact that no one was paying attention, tossed it into my spatial storage.

Just as she was about to return to her car to rest, a long queue in front of a shop in the distance caught Zuo Ling's eye.

The long queue at this time is undoubtedly for food.

Zuo Ling is a foodie; she'll join in on anything delicious.

Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a roast duck vendor.

Having spent many years in Kyoto, Peking duck no longer appeals to Zuo Ling.

I asked the uncle in front of me in line, "Is their roast duck good?"

The older man glanced at her sideways:

"Young lady, you must be from out of town. Look at this long queue, how could it not be delicious? I'm not exaggerating, but the roast duck in the whole Stone City, including the roast duck in five-star hotels, can't compare to theirs."

Zuo Ling's eyes gleamed with disbelief.

Go ahead and brag all you want. Even the world-famous Peking duck isn't as famous as you.

The uncle laughed:

"Don't believe me? Girl, you're obviously an amateur. The quality of roast duck in Stone City isn't in the roasting or the duck itself, it's in the red braising sauce."

Red braising sauce? Zuo Ling only knows sweet bean sauce.

Kyoto roast duck, served with thin pancakes, sweet bean sauce, shredded scallions, and cucumber strips, but no red braising sauce!

"You'll know once you buy one and try it."

The uncle said no more; saying more was pointless than eating one himself.

Zuo Ling not only bought them, but she bought 10 of them.

It's ridiculous for a billionaire to go out and buy one.

Each roast duck is individually packaged, with a complimentary red braising sauce inside the bag.

In the blink of an eye, 10 become 8, then 6 more, and before you've even walked the whole street, your hands are empty.

The waterfall stared wide-eyed at Zuo Ling's magic tricks, still finding them fascinating despite having seen them countless times.

I took a leisurely stroll and returned to my car.

The evening breeze was just right, and Zuo Ling didn't want to eat in the car.

She parked her car near the river, in a secluded spot that wasn't too dark.

Take out the small table and the small rattan chair with a backrest, a special dining table for waterfalls.

A bowl of pork belly noodles, a roast duck, and a red coconut—a person and a rabbit eat outside the car.

The noodles were chewy, the pork skin was just the right amount of tender, and the soup was delicious.

The roast duck has the aroma of osmanthus honey, and when dipped in red sauce, it's slightly sweet and slightly salty... What else does it taste like? Zuo Ling isn't quite sure how to describe it.

In short, it was really delicious.

The man and the rabbit ate until their bellies were bulging and they kept burping.

I woke up in the early morning to a light, cool mist.

Left Ling Er Ti Mian Ming Waterfall:

"Come with me to find energy crystals today, good ones and bad ones alike. Only choose the good ones; if you miss the bad ones, I'll take away your snacks, and you're not allowed to eat cream cake. Got it?"

The waterfall hums.

He took out a strange stone and tugged at the rabbit's ears: "We need this one too, don't forget it."

The waterfall tilted its head, its rabbit face impatient. "I've said it so many times, when will this end?"

Patting the rabbit's head, he said, "Good job. I'll take you to find some other good food."

The rabbit smacked its lips twice, and the waterfall looked down on Zuo Ling.

You think I'm like you, all you do is eat? You're so useless.
