Chapter 88 One Night of Freezing

The world of ice and snow is undoubtedly beautiful.

But even the most beautiful world loses its beauty when a hearse is brought into it.

Zuo Ling focused on driving, trying her best not to let external things affect her mind.

Three hours later, Zuo Ling appeared outside Tianjin Port.

We were still more than ten miles from Tianjin Port, so we abandoned the tank 300 and switched to motorcycles.

In my past life, on the fifth day of the Lunar New Year, an extreme cold descended. A few days later, a powerful tsunami struck Tianjin Port, freezing it overnight.

Zuo Ling couldn't remember the exact date.

In this life, the extreme cold arrived five days earlier than expected.

She didn't know when the tsunami would come; she was there to collect supplies.

Social order hasn't collapsed yet; taking action now is a bit premature. If we don't act, the tsunami will come, and then it will be too late.

It's a dilemma, but I came anyway, risking my life.

Risk and opportunity coexist, and Zuo Ling is reluctant to give up this huge fortune.

Heavy snow disrupted transportation, bringing Tianjin Port to a standstill, and the number of people entering and leaving the port was pitifully small.

Zuo Ling was timid and did not dare to enter through the main gate. Instead, she went around to a secluded place and entered through an inconspicuous path.

The port was piled up with tens of thousands of containers of all sizes, creating a spectacular scene.

It was already past 9 p.m., the dark clouds were thick and heavy, and not a single star could be seen, making it hard to breathe.

The waterfall whimpered uneasily, and Zuo Ling patted it, saying, "Don't make a sound, stay put."

The waterfall twisted its body and obediently remained silent.

Zuo Ling was also afraid. Deep down, she was an honest girl and couldn't do anything like stealing.

After observing for a while, I realized it was too cold and I couldn't see anyone moving around, so I became a little bolder.

I didn't dare to pick up the containers in one place; I picked them up in a space between them, trying to avoid areas with surveillance cameras.

She was afraid that if she collected too much, and the tsunami didn't come, it would attract the police, and she would be in big trouble.

After carefully selecting and collecting over 300, I prepared to call it a day and head home.

Just then, the waterfall inside the backpack suddenly stood up, its ears perked up, staring nervously at the distant sea, its hair standing on end.

Zuo Ling knew something was wrong.

Waves of seawater surged toward the harbor, the walls of water rushing toward the shore like giant sails, and the hundreds of ships moored there rose and fell with the waves, making creaking and groaning noises as they collided.

The once silent port was suddenly filled with panicked shouts, and Zuo Ling turned and ran back the way she came.

She picked and chose the containers, and before she knew it, she had gone quite a distance from where she had come in.

While running, he still touched the containers he passed, and the containers disappeared as soon as he ran past.

The waterfall grew increasingly agitated, emitting sharp cries, and Zuo Ling could already hear the sound of the waves chasing after her.

Without thinking twice, it forcefully threw the tiger claw towards the overhead crane where the containers were being hoisted, and it soared into the air.

Having just secured its grip, it throws its tiger claws upwards again, leaping twice to reach the highest point of the elevated road.

Normally she's not that agile, but in critical moments she performs exceptionally well.

He slipped into the space, startled, his forehead covered in cold sweat.

Outside the space, the areas they had just passed, including under the overpass, were already submerged by seawater.

The waves, like a grumpy child, tossed dozens of ships into the air and sent them hurtling into the distance. Still not satisfied, they swung the entire ships into the air and then slammed them down again.

Not satisfied with just hitting in one direction, they started hitting in different ways.

Screams and crashes, like drumbeats and thunderclaps, none of them quite fit, yet they were all mixed together.

Ship hulls broken into several pieces, containers cut into pieces, and various supplies scattered everywhere like unusual fireworks.

The elevated road that had just been climbed was being hit by shipping containers, producing a screeching sound.

Zuo Ling was terrified. What if the overpass was cut off? Where would she land after she got out?

The waves, with their gaping maws, instantly swallowed several 10,000-ton cargo ships; those that couldn't be swallowed were pushed and crushed onto the land.

Cargo ships, heavy-duty trucks, and containers are crammed together, each flexing its muscles.

Those who couldn't squeeze through left early; those who managed to squeeze through rushed forward.

Some people screamed, some shouted for help, some yelled that a tsunami was coming, a tsunami was coming, run, run...

The once silent dock was now in chaos.

The waves pushed the cargo ship, crushing people as it went, killing anyone who stood in their way.

If you encounter a tall building blocking your way, simply cut it off.

People still working inside the building were thrown up by a tremendous force and then fell heavily back down.

Another round of screams, cries, and calls for help... In just a few minutes, Tianjin Port was completely transformed.

The raging waves were still not satisfied, and charged forward like a race.

The blood was washed away by the seawater, and the severed limb fragments were smashed into pieces by the raging waves.

Inside the space, Zuo Ling stared in horror at the scenes outside, suddenly remembering the pile of dead and living people inside.

To be on the safe side, the two from the Jin family had their necks broken and were thrown out.

Everything else, dead or alive, was thrown out like trash.

The dead ones are like those playing on a trampoline, falling into the seawater only to be swept up by the waves and sent into the air.

Before the survivors could even cry out, they were swallowed whole by the merciless waves, disappearing without a trace after a few tumbles.

...

The waterfall was terrified; its fur stood on end, and its little body was still trembling.

"Don't be afraid, sweetheart."

The waterfall made two soft gurgling sounds, licked the back of Zuo Ling's hand, and leaned closer to Zuo Ling.

Stroking the rabbit's fur is a way to soothe the waterfall, and also to soothe herself.

If she had been even a moment slower, she and the waterfall would have been swallowed up by the merciless sea, just like the people outside.

Turning her gaze away, Zuo Ling adopted a somewhat ostrich-like mentality; out of sight, out of mind, she didn't perceive the scene outside as too horrific.

I wasn't in the mood to inventory the containers, so I put the waterfall on the grass and let it play by itself.

She then calmed down and absorbed the cyan energy crystal.
