A military Hummer and a Mercedes-Benz sped toward Tianjin.
On the bus, a man with a full head of blond hair lazily said:
"Who is this guy? The patriarch actually sent all three of us out."
Another person, with a sallow complexion and a face full of pockmarks, replied:
"You little rascal, there are plenty of talented people in the world. There are always people more capable than you, and there's always something beyond your understanding. Be careful. They've been hiding Jin Qiangyu for more than half a year, and only revealed their whereabouts today. It's clear they're not afraid of us finding them. They might just be waiting for us with their jaws wide open."
"Hmph, don't boost others' morale and diminish your own. You've been hiding your head and tail for more than half a year, like a mouse. What kind of expert could you be?"
"How do you compare to Ah Zhu? Even Ah Zhu fell into their hands, so what kind of expert are you?"
"Ah Zhu was definitely ambushed."
"The people sent by the patriarch said that it took the police at most half an hour from hearing the gunshots to arriving at the scene. When they arrived, they found several shell casings and a mess. The situation at the scene indicated that A-Zhu had mutated. He had mutated to be two or three stories tall. How did the other side manage to hide such a huge guy?"
Silence filled the car. After a long while, a man with cold, sharp eyes, who appeared to be the leader, spoke:
"There's only one explanation: someone among them has awakened spatial abilities."
The blond-haired man scoffed, "It's just a spatial ability, a big storage box. He's not much of a fighter. Why should we be afraid of him?"
The team leader glanced at him sideways: "Those who capsize in the gutter are all those who think they are better than others."
The blond guy was speechless after being roasted, and the pockmarked man looked at him with amusement: "You, don't think you're so great just because you've awakened ice powers."
The blond-haired man was unconvinced and muttered, "It boosts the morale of others while diminishing our own."
The car came to a sudden stop, and the driver pointed ahead, exclaiming, "My God, boss, look!"
The high beams shone on the ice, making it seem as if there was no end in sight.
The blond-haired man, oblivious to the commotion, said impatiently, "What are you yelling about? What's all the fuss about?"
The team leader narrowed his eyes, his expression cold and stern. He pushed open the car door, stomped his boots hard on the ice.
The pockmarked man and the blond-haired man got off the bus. The blond-haired man muttered, "What's wrong? What's wrong? Is something wrong?"
The pockmarked man nudged him, "Are you blind? Can't you see there's ice everywhere here?"
The blond guy was confused. Ice? What's wrong with ice? Isn't that common? He even has ice powers.
The pockmarked man was speechless: "We're almost in Tianjin, it's not the coast, where are all these ice coming from!"
The blond-haired man opened his mouth wide. "Oh right, so much ice, where did it come from?"
Upon receiving Jin Qiangyu's location signal, the patriarch dispatched them, and they traveled at breakneck speed without contacting the outside world.
The highway was closed, and then there was an earthquake. We took some detours and rushed here as fast as we could.
The radio was full of terrible news, so I turned it off because it was annoying. Little did I know that Tianjin would freeze over overnight.
The team leader, with a stern face, uttered four words: "I see!"
The blond-haired man didn't understand: "Oh, I see? What do you mean?"
The pockmarked man, no longer expecting the blond-haired man to be intelligent enough to understand, explained:
"Jin Qiangyu's location signal hasn't moved at all. Now we've found the reason."
He pointed to the ice.
The blond-haired man scratched his head: "Jin Qiangyu is trapped inside? What do we do? Should we keep going?"
He then exclaimed happily, "Aha, does that mean the people who captured Jin Qiangyu were also frozen inside?"
The pockmarked face also thought of it:
"Yes, boss, Jin Qiangyu is trapped inside, which means the other side didn't get anything good either. We can go back and report."
After a long silence, the team leader said in a deep voice:
"Not necessarily. They have spatial abilities; they might be able to dodge it."
Huang Mao didn't believe it:
"A living person can enter a space? Didn't the patriarch say that among those who awaken spatial abilities, only one in ten thousand can enter a living person's space? More than twenty years ago, the Bai family's spatial ability couldn't even get a living person into it."
"One in ten thousand, not that it's impossible. Bringing Jin Qiangyu from Qinzhou to Dianzhou, and then to Tianjin, is only possible by placing him in a spatial dimension to evade our surveillance; there's no other way."
The team leader asserted.
Huang Mao fell silent. Even if he was stupid, he could sense that something was wrong and felt a chill on his body.
The Jin family hermit said that the ability to enter the space of a living person is one in ten thousand.
Once someone awakens the ability to enter the space of living people, it indicates that this person has extremely high talent and is very likely to awaken other abilities besides spatial abilities.
He was usually fearless, but the thought of fighting against someone with the awakened spatial ability to enter living people sent chills down his spine.
The two were locked in a fierce battle when their opponent suddenly vanished into a spatial dimension and launched a surprise attack. He definitely couldn't win...
Shrinking his neck, showing fear, he tugged at the leader:
"Boss, they're all frozen solid. There's no way to save them. Let's go back."
"Since we're already here, how can we explain to the head of the family if we don't go and see what's going on?"
The team leader turned and got into the car.
The blond-haired man and the pockmarked man exchanged a glance. Once their boss made a decision, he never changed it. What could they do? They had to leave.
More than an hour later, Huang Mao and his group appeared in the ruins of Tianjin Port.
Two cars, back to back, turned on their high beams. The area illuminated by the lights revealed ice, dilapidated ships, ruins, and lifelike ice sculptures... a sight that filled one with desolation.
The blond-haired man shuddered, shrank back, and crossed his arms, saying:
"Boss, this place is too eerie. What if, what if another tsunami freezes everything over? We won't even be able to escape."
Who could have imagined that the entire city of Tianjin would be frozen over overnight and become a ghost town?
No matter how outrageous Huang Mao is, he wouldn't believe that his ice-type ability could withstand a devastating tsunami and ice seal.
