Chapter 167 No Moon, No Stars

Zuo Ling smiled warmly: "If you don't take them, the great philanthropists won't be willing to leave. They can only leave when you've all taken them."

The middle-aged man and the pile of naked people on the ground were so angry that their faces turned blue. "You used our rice and flour to do favors, you really have it!"

Despite her anger, she had to cover her private parts and force a smile: "Come and get it, come and get it..."

The crowd surged forward, afraid that if they were too slow, they would be left with nothing.

Zuo Ling took out a small stainless steel basin from her backpack. One basin per person, no extras allowed.

The serving tools were varied: clothes, pants, tarpaulins, plastic sheets... People were just grateful to have something to eat; they didn't care about the dirt anymore.

After distributing the rice and flour, the middle-aged man led his men, some carrying and some lifting, along with a group of burly men, and broke out of the encirclement, covered in dust and dirt.

A chorus of cheers erupted as those who received the rice and flour thanked Zuo Ling and Pei Nansheng. Many others also thanked Xiao Hao, making him blush with embarrassment.

The snowy night is indignant. Woof, woof, woof, and me too! And me too! Why is no one thanking me?!

The waterfall glanced sideways at the dog, "You've never seen anything like this before, is it really that serious?"

After leaving Ancheng, the two people and two beasts were still excited, while Pei Nansheng remained with a dark face.

The group settled down in a mountain hollow, got out of the car, and Pei Nan angrily slammed the car door shut.

Zuo Ling winked at Xiao Hao, signaling him to coax Pei Nansheng.

Xiao Hao's eyes darted around nervously, but he still fearlessly moved closer to his older brother: "Brother, what are we having for dinner tonight?"

Pei Nansheng snorted: "Shouldn't you be asking your sister about this?"

Xiao Hao chuckled and said, "My brother and I have the same taste. I'll ask first, then I'll tell my sister."

Knowing that the little brat was just making conversation, Pei Nansheng pushed Xiao Hao aside and asked Zuo Ling with a dark face, "Do you even know what we're going to Anshi for? And you still dare to cause trouble?"

"They provoked us first. Oh, so you trained us just so others could bully us?"

Patting Xiao Hao's head, Zuo Ling praised, "Xiao Hao was so cool today! He kicked that bad boy's chin off with a high kick, right, Xiao Hao?"

When his older siblings started arguing, Xiao Hao didn't want to appear too smug, so he said weakly, "My brother taught me well."

"Listen to this, listen to this, what's bothering you? You're giving us that long face. Oh, we're being bullied, and you're happy about that?"

Of course I'm unhappy, but we have to prioritize things. Pei Nansheng said slowly, "I followed those people in the market and found out where the Jin family is."

Zuo Ling asked in confusion, "Not the place you know?"

Pei Nansheng shook his head:

"The place I know of is probably a smokescreen put out by the Jin family; their higher-ups aren't there."

Zuo Ling didn't ask Pei Nansheng how he determined the location of the Jin family; she didn't want to waste her brainpower on such a difficult question.

What should we do now?

Pei Nansheng said irritably, "If you hadn't caused that scene at the market, we could have made our move today. Now we can only wait."

The hidden families wield immense power; they cannot be eradicated through mere minor actions.

The whole family had revealed their presence at the market. If they made a move today, the Jin family would likely associate it with them. The brother and sister were outnumbered and outmatched, and could not contend with a family that had been hidden for thousands of years.

"Wait, wait, it's not like we're in a rush," Zuo Ling stubbornly insisted, refusing to admit her mistake.

Pei Nansheng was helpless. What could he do but endure it? It was his own sister.

"Let's find a secluded spot, and I'll teach you how to fly a plane. That way, you won't be helpless when I'm not available."

The group headed deeper into the mountains.

One teaches diligently, and two learn diligently.

The two little animals didn't consider themselves animals. When Zuo Ling and Xiao Hao learned to fly an airplane, they listened attentively.

After trying for a long time and still not understanding, the two little ones finally tilted their heads, leaned on each other, and fell asleep with drool dripping down their faces.

One night more than a month later, there was no moon or stars.

Zuo Ling and Pei Nansheng piloted an AH-64 Apache helicopter toward a certain location. Zuo Ling sat in the front co-pilot/gunner position, while Pei Nansheng sat in the rear pilot position.

With too little training time and no practical experience, Zuo Ling had no confidence in this operation.

Seeing her nervousness, Pei Nansheng comforted her, "The Apache is the world's number one armed helicopter. Don't be afraid. Even if we can't win, we can still run away."

"Is it fast?" Zuo Ling was very concerned about the escape.

"You know Porsche, right? It's faster than that."

Zuo Ling certainly knew about Porsche; there were three in the space, but she never had a chance to drive them, so she had no idea how fast they could go.

Besides, comparing the speed of an airplane to that of a sports car sounds incredibly absurd!

Pei Nansheng had taken her to the Jin family's residence multiple times, and had gained a general understanding of the Jin family's plans, and had formulated a detailed battle plan.

Zuo Ling rehearsed the scene in her mind hundreds of times, but still felt uneasy.

"Focus your attention, we're almost there," Pei Nansheng reminded Zuo Ling.

Zuo Ling took several deep breaths in succession, trying to adjust her state.

"put."

Zuo Ling instinctively launched a Hellfire anti-tank missile. The missile roared away and landed with a bang, illuminating the night sky with a burst of fire.

The piercing alarm sounded, and panic erupted below.

"put."

Pei Nansheng issued another command.

Another missile roared away, bang... The smoke and dust it kicked up, the terrified screams of people and horses, calmed Zuo Ling's unease.

The helicopter made a 90-degree turn. "Let it go."

Zuo Ling, with practiced ease, responded to the order and launched another missile. The alarm blared so loudly that it could be heard throughout the entire city of An.

The Jin family's residence occupied a considerable area, engulfed in flames, with the large white pot lid faintly visible as it rotated.

Pei Nansheng murmured, "There's another one hidden here. Let it go."
