Chapter 125 Step by Step

"Well, you're finished now. But if you obediently do as I say, I can still beg Lord Chongyuan to spare your life. You know, you can't escape now. Even if you have amazing abilities, you can't possibly deal with so many of us ability users at the same time." Ji Yueyao was like a child who had eaten honey, her whole smile was sweet.

Wei Qin didn't speak, but continued to attack Ji Yueyao, though his attack speed noticeably slowed down.

"Hey, this is a good deal. As long as you swear you'll never set foot in the Nanxiao base again and stay far away, we'll let you go." A glint flashed in Ji Yueyao's eyes, but she cleverly concealed it and landed steadily on the ground.

"You're not planning to kill me?" Wei Qin asked incredulously. Shouldn't they be eliminating the threat at this point?

“Killing you would take a lot of manpower,” Ji Yueyao shrugged. “So I’ve decided to avoid killing you if possible. You know, if we’re going to kill you, you can’t escape no matter what. But if we kill you, we might lose some people as well, which would be a huge loss.”

Wei Qin stopped attacking. He looked at Ji Yueyao, who stood before him seemingly defenseless, and narrowed his eyes slightly. "Did you do all this?"

"Yes." Ji Yueyao admitted frankly, "I killed the sixth and ninth seats, framed you and instigated Qian Wenyu to launch the first attack. Ah... I also killed your twelfth and thirteenth seats, and I brought those people who came to kill you down below."

As Ji Yueyao spoke, her tone grew increasingly vicious. She watched as the veins on Wei Qin's forehead bulged menacingly before gradually receding, and she curled her lips in satisfaction.

"How did you do all this?" Wei Qin stared at the girl in disbelief, his eyes looking at her as if she were a demon.

"I did it just like that..." Ji Yueyao spread his hands. "My special ability is to distort space. I can suck everything around me into space and distort and pulverize it."

"So you used this to frame me... You're a devil." Wei Qin seemed to admit defeat. He looked at Ji Yueyao with complicated eyes, gritted his teeth, and said, "Fine, I swear I will never set foot in the Nanxiao base again in my life, or I will die a horrible death. Can I leave now?"

"Let's go." Ji Yueyao stepped aside, lowering her eyes and not looking at Wei Qin again, seemingly quite relieved.

Watching Wei Qin's figure disappear quickly, Bai Yi, who had been hiding at the door, strode out and said anxiously, "Captain, you've told him so many confidential things. Aren't you afraid he'll use them against you?"

"Afraid?" Ji Yueyao chuckled. "Don't worry, he won't get out."

Bai Yi was taken aback and scratched his head as he looked at the confident Ji Yueyao. Just now, Ji Yueyao had been earnestly persuading Wei Qin to leave, so how did it become that he couldn't get out?

“Wei Qin climbed step by step to the second position in the Nanxiao base, holding a high position and great power for many years. He was almost able to take over the entire Nanxiao base for himself.” Ji Yueyao walked downstairs and gestured to Zhu Mu, who was standing on the second floor, to temporarily move the civilians away. He then turned back to Bai Yi and said, “If you were Wei Qin, would you easily accept your fate and give up everything you have?”

“How is that possible…” the termite answered almost instinctively, then he snapped back to reality and fell into deep thought.

"Captain, where should we take them?" Zhu Mu leaned close to Ji Yueyao and asked with a smile. He had become close with these troublemaking civilians over the past few days, and he felt quite accomplished hearing them call him "Big Brother."

"Take him to Qian Wenyu. Tell him... Chongyuan intends to thank Qian Wenyu for his contributions to the base," Ji Yueyao said calmly, then swaggered out of the gate.

The people who had been blocking the entrance made way for Ji Yueyao as she came out. Not to mention the civilian forces that had already joined Chongyuan, even the newly joined civilians knew that Ji Yueyao was from Chongyuan. They were able to get to this point because she was leading them.

"The effect is good." Ji Yueyao looked at the civilians who had retreated to both sides and suddenly smiled.

At this moment, the termite quickened its pace and caught up with Ji Yueyao, saying, "Captain, you mean... Wei Qin is going to Qian Wenyu's place? Isn't that terrible? He knows so much about you, he'll definitely tell Qian Wenyu everything. Then we'll definitely have a falling out with Qian Wenyu."

Ji Yueyao glanced at Bai Yi, wondering why this guy had been so out of sync these past few days. "If I hadn't told Wei Qin those things, do you think Wei Qin would have gone back to Qian Wenyu?"

"Huh...?" Termite was stunned again. It wasn't that he was slow to react; it was because Ji Yueyao was doing things too fast. He no longer understood anything and just knew to do as she said.

Looking at Ji Yueyao's back, Bai Yi had a feeling that things were getting further and further away, just like how he felt about Mu Yanxuan.

That was... the aura of someone in a superior position.

As expected, Wei Qin went to find Qian Wenyu. It was no joke; he had been in the Nanxiao base for so many years, and had been subservient to Qin Lichang for so long. Just when he was about to completely control the Nanxiao base, it was ruined by a young girl like Ji Yueyao.

How could this be! Wei Qin clenched his fists. She was just a lowly woman; he would never let her have her way!

A number of people had gathered around Qian Wenyu's house, but it was clear that they were not hostile; they were probably just people who were protecting or seeking help.

Wei Qin scoffed, never expecting that Qian Wenyu would one day be treated like a good person. He then leaped up from the side of the house and disappeared into the shadows. Looking around, he saw that no one seemed to have noticed him, and he breathed a sigh of relief.

Little did he know that his every move had already been observed by someone.

Looking around, he spotted a window overhead. Lowering his center of gravity slightly, he reached out and grabbed the windowsill, then flipped himself through the window.

The corridor was eerily quiet. Wei Qin felt a jolt in his heart the moment he landed, but his resentment and despair buried all his vigilance.

Only the sound of footsteps remained in the corridor as Wei Qin searched for Qian Wenyu's office, relying on his memory.

"Found it." He murmured, and without knocking, he pushed the door open and entered.

Inside the door was a neat desk. Wei Qin glanced around and suddenly spotted a familiar figure. "Yin Longyuan?!"

"My lord." Yin Longyuan's voice was indifferent. He glanced at Wei Qin, his eyes devoid of any luster.

"How did you get here? Weren't you dead?!" Wei Qin took a step back, cautiously glancing around to make sure no one was there before fixing his gaze on Yin Longyuan. "You betrayed me?"

"My lord, the situation is hopeless. I only want to live." The image of Ji Yueyao standing atop the corpses with a faint smile flashed through his mind. Yin Longyuan silently took a step back, then knelt on the ground and whispered, "My lord, I'm sorry." (To be continued.)
