Chapter 139 Not Afraid of a God-like Opponent

“There,” the sky said.

"..." Ji Yueyao paused for a moment, "Where is 'there'?"

“That’s it,” Sky continued.

Ji Yueyao remained silent, resisting the urge to smash the sky to the ground, and looked up ahead... Then, among about four or five scorpion-type exotic birds, she saw Kachi.

It was indeed very conspicuous.

"Why are there five or six scorpion-type exotic birds here?!" Ji Yueyao whispered, holding up the sky. She had no strength left, and dealing with so many scorpion-type exotic birds was practically suicide.

She still has half of her leg buried in the ground. She wanted to pull it out, but the wound was too painful. However... those scorpion-type strange birds didn't seem to have noticed her.

Just as she was thinking, the scorpion-type exotic birds suddenly moved towards Ji Yueyao in unison. Ji Yueyao was stunned for a moment, then quickly cleaned the sand off her body. Ignoring the pain in her thigh, she bent over and took half a step back, taking the dagger from her waist.

"..." Whatever I think of comes true, is it really that weird?

Fortunately, the scorpion-type exotic bird only took a few steps closer and then stopped, showing no intention of attacking.

Ji Yueyao, on the other hand, felt dizzy for a moment after standing up, but quickly recovered. As a superhuman, she was probably the only one who would feel dizzy after standing up.

Ji Yueyao's body is very strange. If you say she's weak, her jumping and running abilities are far beyond those of ordinary people. But if you say she's strong, her body is so weak that she can't breathe for a long time after using her superpowers even a little bit. She's afraid of the cold in winter and the heat in summer, and she's more fragile than glass.

Raising her dagger, Ji Yueyao temporarily ignored these thoughts. She tried to remain calm, her eyes fixed on the slowly approaching scorpion-like bird, quickly devising a countermeasure. The dagger would do virtually no damage to the scorpion-like bird, because aside from its pearl-sized eyes on its forehead, its carapace was impenetrable except for guns and cannons.

Okay, that's not the point. The point is, what is she going to do now?

Ji Yueyao glanced around. The space was cramped, and the surrounding sand and gravel were crumbling and could not hold for long. If a fight broke out, the falling soil could bury her alive.

Besides, Kaqi is still there... Ji Yueyao paused for a moment, looked at Kaqi who was lying in front of her, and suddenly asked, "Kaki?"

There was no response.

Ji Yueyao felt a sudden panic. She looked up at Kaqi and suddenly had an urge to rush forward.

In fact, she did just that. Ji Yueyao leaped onto the back of a scorpion-type alien bird almost instantly. The moment the scorpion-type alien bird launched its attack, she quickly changed the direction of her attack, deflecting the scorpion-type alien bird's poisonous sting with her dagger and leaping directly towards Kaqi.

Kneeling beside Kachi, he discovered that she was pale and unconscious.

"Kachi, wake up!" Ji Yueyao's wounds burst open with a series of movements, and the smell of blood made the scorpion-type exotic birds even more restless.

Ji Yueyao couldn't tell what was wrong with Kaqi, so she tried to wake her up, but it obviously didn't work.

"She was merely poisoned by a scorpion-type exotic bird." The voice from the sky drifted over faintly, sounding weak and listless.

Ji Yueyao's face paled. She quickly grabbed the flashlight beside Kaqi and shone it on her, finding dark purple marks on her body. There was no antidote for the scorpion-type exotic bird's poison, but its effects took two to three hours to manifest. Once poisoned, the symptoms included unconsciousness, followed by gradual ulceration after an hour, and death within two hours at the latest.

"How long has she been poisoned?" Ji Yueyao asked coldly.

“Just now,” Sky said.

Ji Yueyao nodded; they had to resolve everything as soon as possible.

Standing up, he looked at the scorpion-type exotic birds around him, his eyes filled with suspicion as he watched them warily. "Why haven't they attacked yet?"

Logically speaking, it's impossible for a different species not to attack its prey, let alone allow the prey to be right in front of them while they just watch without attacking.

"Foolish, because of me." The sky scoffed, its azure eyes growing dimmer, its voice losing its strength. "Even if I become a skull, I'm still a purebred super-powerful alien. How could these inferior aliens possibly attack me?"

"Weren't you attacked by these low-level exotic birds you mentioned?" Ji Yueyao frowned.

The sky said calmly, "Can the alien creatures of the desolate land compare to those of the forbidden forest? The forbidden forest is the origin of all alien creatures."

"Origin?!" This was the first time Ji Yueyao had heard such a term. She had never heard Tian Kong mention it before. The origin of aliens... This was information that even humans didn't know, right?

"Now is not the time to talk about these things." Sky didn't intend to say anything more. "Ji Yueyao, my power has been exhausted. I don't have the power to deter these scorpion-type aliens for the time being. It's up to you now."

"Your power can still be overdrawn?" Ji Yueyao asked in confusion.

Sky gave a brief explanation, then fell silent. "I was already on the verge of death, and intimidating these scorpion-type birds used almost all of my strength... Give me about a day and I should be able to recover."

Ji Yueyao sighed softly, bent down and quickly placed Tiankong next to Kaqi. Then, she tightened her ruptured wound even more fiercely, biting her lower lip hard to endure the piercing pain in her legs. Ji Yueyao rubbed her eyes, which had dark circles under them, and then prepared to use her superpower once again.

As long as these scorpion-like strange birds around them are dealt with temporarily... they should be safe for now.

"Ji Yueyao, I can no longer control the fluctuations in your mind..." Sky's voice appeared in Ji Yueyao's mind again, but this time the voice was so loud and soft that it was indistinct and could not be heard at all. Sky's voice even stopped before it finished speaking. "You have to do it yourself..."

Ji Yueyao glanced back at the sky and found that there was no light left in its eye sockets; it now looked like an ordinary skull.

In that instant, Ji Yueyao felt a ringing in her ears, followed by a chaotic jumble of thoughts in her mind. The sounds of all the scorpion-like strange birds underground flooded into her mind at once, and the oppressive feeling in that instant almost drove her insane.

Ji Yueyao, who had been focused and prepared to fight the scorpion-type alien bird to the death, had completely lost control of her powers. She knelt on the ground, barely able to maintain basic consciousness. The wounds on her legs and head were almost suffocating her. She gave a bitter smile, remarking that the sky's overexertion had been all too timely…

The surrounding scorpion-type birds seemed to have lost the threat of the sky, and they began to move towards Ji Yueyao one by one. Blood dripped from his forehead, and Ji Yueyao felt his vision blurring.

Ugh, we're doomed. (To be continued.)
