Takeki, whose collar had been grabbed, paused for a moment, then turned around and lowered his voice, "What's wrong, Captain?"
"Take a good look around you."
"Take a good look around?" Hearing Ji Yueyao's words, Zhu Mu hurriedly looked around and then stared blankly. Directly in front of them was a large area of silvery-white things, with silvery light scattered around them, mysterious yet with a touch of charm.
This silvery expanse seemed to stretch endlessly, dispelling all the darkness before them.
"What is that?!" Zhu Mu asked in surprise, his eyes, which had been in darkness for a long time, suddenly felt blurry.
“It should be a spider web.” Ji Yueyao frowned. “The webs of spider-like birds are usually silvery-white, and those shiny spots on them are probably the natural gel secreted by the spider web… Be careful not to touch them.”
"If you touch it, will you get stuck...? How sticky would it be?" Zhu Mu asked curiously. Ji Yueyao glanced at him, then took a few steps to the spider web.
Looking at the dense spider web in front of her, she couldn't help but frown. "It's really well blocked, completely obstructing the way."
It seems the only way is to destroy the spider web to lure out the spider-like birds.
"What do we do now, Captain?" Takeki looked at the glossy, moist spiderweb in front of him, hesitated for a moment, and said, "This thing looks very soft and beautiful, can we move it?"
"Try moving it," Ji Yueyao said coldly. "The spider webs of the spider-type exotic birds have a paralyzing effect. If you touch it with your hand, you'll probably lose all feeling in your hand within a few minutes. Although we're not fighting now, if we were, a few minutes would be enough to kill you."
Upon hearing the chill in Ji Yueyao's voice, Zhu Mu quickly followed behind her, nodding obsequiously, "Captain, I know... I was just saying."
Ji Yueyao didn't speak. She walked to a spot where the spiderwebs were relatively thin and then stopped.
After taking a deep breath, Ji Yueyao asked, "Zhu Mu, are you ready?"
"Ready...?" Zhu Mu blinked, her silly look making Ji Yueyao want to slap her... She finally understood how Sister Qiao felt when she saw her bewildered expression when she first came to this world.
It's just utterly speechless.
"Prepare to face the extremely powerful spider-type alien bird head-on." Ji Yueyao glanced around warily, then squatted down, took out a lighter from her pocket, and lit the spider web in front of her. "We must kill this spider-type alien bird before the spider web in front of us can disappear."
The moment she finished speaking, the entire spider web in front of her burst into flames. The spider webs of the spider-type exotic birds are extremely flammable, and almost the instant they were ignited, the entire large area of the web was ablaze with fire. The dazzling flames instantly illuminated the surroundings, giving this pitch-black underground forbidden area a brief moment of warmth.
Ji Yueyao closed her eyes and quietly sensed the energy fluctuations ahead. She quickly sensed a pure power... The source of that power was not very large, but the power itself was extremely pure.
This is an extremely powerful exotic bird.
Ji Yueyao stepped back a distance, and then saw the firelight suddenly fluctuate in this windless place. Then the fierce flames disappeared from top to bottom in an instant. The spider web seemed to still be emitting a silvery-white light, without any trace of being burned, and there didn't seem to be a single wisp of smoke around.
"What...what happened?" Zhu Mu was stunned. So the fire he had just seen was all an illusion?
Ji Yueyao frowned, her eyes suddenly narrowing as she watched the figure emerge from the spiderweb.
Emerging from the spiderweb was a boy of about twelve or thirteen years old. His features were as delicate as a doll's, but what surprised Ji Yueyao the most was not that, but that the boy's eyes were almost exactly the same color as the sky, a deep blue with a sorrowful aura.
“The sky…?” Ji Yueyao couldn’t help but utter a sound. Suddenly, the eyeball in her pocket emitted a fierce light. Ji Yueyao raised her hand and covered it, but what she felt was no longer warmth, but rather an intense, scorching anger.
"Humans...why are they in the forbidden land of death?" The spider-like strange bird that emerged...no, judging from its appearance now, it can no longer be called a strange bird, it should be called a strange human.
When a bird becomes strong enough, it will evolve its body into a refined form, and the form of a human is the best choice for it.
Of course, this form is entirely up to them; if they want to maintain the enormous size of the strange birds, that's fine too, it's up to them.
Thinking of this, Ji Yueyao couldn't help but look up at the spider-like alien in front of her. Even its voice sounded exactly like the sky. She gritted her teeth and suppressed her doubts, remaining silent.
Zhu Mu couldn't understand what the spider-like superhuman in front of him was saying. He blinked, looking completely bewildered.
The spider-like alien was somewhat displeased. It slowly walked over, its gloomy face making its eyes glow with an eerie red. "Can't you understand... You're truly inferior humans. But you can stay here... It's been a long time since I've eaten a human."
"I need to get through here to the central part of the Forbidden Forest," Ji Yueyao suddenly said, watching the spider-like alien approach step by step.
The spider-like superhuman paused, looking at Ji Yueyao with interest. "You can understand me?"
Before Ji Yueyao could reply, the spider-like alien flashed in front of her in the blink of an eye, less than a centimeter away. The chill it brought made Ji Yueyao's heart skip a beat.
She leaped backward swiftly, avoiding being touched by the spider-like alien.
The spider-like alien didn't attack again, but stood there and tilted its head, its eyes suddenly becoming strange. "You have... a familiar aura on you."
Ji Yueyao was taken aback. Before he could react, the spider-type alien spoke again. His gaze shifted slightly and locked onto Ji Yueyao's pocket. "To be precise... it's in your pocket."
A pocket?! Ji Yueyao warily raised her hand to cover it, quickly lowering her center of gravity, her eyes filled with vigilance as she looked at the spider-like alien. "You mean Sky... what's your relationship with Sky?"
Zhu Mu glanced at the approaching spider-like alien, then at Ji Yueyao, feeling utterly bewildered. He could understand Ji Yueyao's speech, but he couldn't understand the alien's. Now, he could only deduce what they had said based on what Ji Yueyao had said.
"Sky...?" The spider-like bird seemed to have never heard of this name before. It stared dangerously at Ji Yueyao, completely forgetting about the name.
"I feel your appearance is very similar to the feeling I get from the sky," Ji Yueyao said coldly, staring at the spider-like strange bird. At first, she did indeed feel that the strange creature before her resembled the sky, but after these few exchanges, she realized that this creature exuded a cold and cruel aura, completely lacking any warmth or loveliness from the sky.
