Everyone nodded and packed up to leave. Qiao Ying stood up and hesitated for a moment before glancing at Zhong Jue, then asked, "Jie, aren't you coming with us?"
"No, my dad and I have some things to talk about." Zhong Jue shook his head and gave a hearty smile. "Take care on your journey."
Qiao Ying walked out somewhat dejectedly. Ji Yueyao followed behind Qiao Ying and then learned that Zhong Jue was Zhong Ran's son, and that they both shared the surname Zhong.
Shaking his head dismissively, Ji Yueyao strode out.
"I think that woman is truly devoted to you." Zhong Ran glanced at the closed door before slowly leaning back in his chair and looking at Zhong Jue, his words filled with dissatisfaction. "Why did you have to include those two women's team in this mission?"
"Dad, this mission isn't just known to our side, you know how dangerous it is." Zhong Jue leaned against the window, watching Ji Yueyao and Qiao Ying walk away, and sneered. "They've been assigned to places with fewer supernatural meteorites, and with other forces vying for them, Dad, do you think they'll come back alive?"
"What if they were alive?" Zhong Ran was still somewhat annoyed.
Zhong Jue shrugged. "They'll probably lose one or two team members, after all, I don't think they can escape unscathed, and they might not be able to find many supernatural meteorites. Dad, isn't this giving you a perfect excuse to lash out?"
"That's not bad." Zhong Ran was finally satisfied. He took out a precious cigarette from his pocket, lit it, and started smoking, squinting his eyes to enjoy it, completely unaware of the greedy look in Zhong Jue's eyes.
