“The people who come here won’t be able to find him, because the signal strips I tied are mostly wrong. They’ll either lead people into danger or make them take a long detour.” The parrot also jumped down from the tree, then took out a navigation device to leave this godforsaken place. “Even if someone comes to rescue him, Mu Yanxuan will probably have starved to death by now.”
"You're really ruthless." Yu Huo muttered, lifting his hand to put on his backpack. When he noticed the Dragon Group's symbol on the backpack, his expression twisted for a moment, then he sneered, tore off the badge, and threw it away casually.
Since the choice to betray has been made, there is absolutely no turning back.
...
"Captain, you don't look too good." Hundred Ant looked at Ji Yueyao walking beside him with concern and said in a low voice.
"It's nothing, let's keep going." Ji Yueyao rubbed her numb temples, her face somewhat pale.
The deeper she went into the Forbidden Forest, the more intense the noise in her mind became. This noise didn't even disappear when she was sleeping. It would be a miracle if she recovered under such torment.
Is this really a superpower? She felt like someone was using magic to harm her.
Actually, she had suspected before that she might have two kinds of superpowers, since she always rejected the superpowered meteorites no matter what. In the anthill, she had also caused a group of ant-like birds to retreat amidst a noisy commotion. Later, after her spatial superpowers erupted, she felt that she might have some kind of telepathic ability. Who knew that as soon as she entered the Forbidden Forest, this superpower would erupt without warning and then uncontrollably start making noise for her?
Ji Yueyao felt like crying but couldn't. She felt no joy at the emergence of a second superpower, only utter frustration. She couldn't imagine what use this power could possibly have—was it meant to test her brain's resilience?
Ji Yueyao rubbed her temples and closed her eyes in frustration. "Termites, where are they now?"
“It seems we’re getting closer to the adults, but…” Termite hesitated for a moment before speaking, “There are many warning signs ahead, so we’ll probably have to take a long detour to get there.”
"Go around." Ji Yueyao said coldly. She was already struggling to walk normally, let alone encounter any danger. Given her current mental state, she would probably be at the mercy of others if she encountered any danger.
The termite nodded, clearly indicating that it felt Ji Yueyao was no longer suited to handle dangerous things.
Looking at the signal strip tied to the treetop, Baiyi thought for a moment and then led Ji Yueyao to a safe place to the side.
Something just doesn't feel right.
Looking at the uneven trees around her, Ji Yueyao felt a sense of foreboding. She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and tried to clear the chaotic noise in her mind.
"Termites, are you sure... this place is safe?" The noise in Ji Yueyao's mind grew louder and louder. This feeling was just like when she was approaching the Serpent Valley, which was driving her crazy. "I feel like something is wrong here."
Taking deep breaths, Ji Yueyao tried her best to categorize and disperse the chaotic thoughts in her mind. She clenched her fists tightly and squatted on the ground, her ten fingers digging deep into the soft soil, sharp stones immediately leaving streaks of blood.
Damn it... Ji Yueyao felt like tens of thousands of bees were buzzing in her ears. She was going crazy. When her mind was in chaos, she only felt the noise, but now, trying to sort out these chaotic sounds, she felt like her head was about to explode.
"I followed the signal strip. Generally speaking, the signal strip is correct." The termite hadn't noticed Ji Yueyao's painful expression behind him. He reached out and touched the white signal strip hanging on the tree branch. Suddenly realizing something, he turned around and was about to say something when he saw Ji Yueyao crouching on the ground, holding her head and looking pained.
"Captain, Captain?!"
Ji Yueyao's bangs were now soaked with sweat, and the strands were matted together, making him look even more disheveled.
In a panic, the termite used its supernatural power to forcibly repair Ji Yueyao's brain. As a soft white light emanated from the termite's hand, a little blood seeped from Ji Yueyao's clenched teeth, and then she suddenly closed her eyes and fainted.
After a series of sharp pains in my brain, my mind cleared up again.
Ji Yueyao's expression clearly showed that she was no longer in much pain, and she fell into a deep sleep with her breathing becoming slightly more even.
"Phew—" Although the white ant didn't know what was wrong with Ji Yueyao, she seemed to be much better now.
However, he suddenly realized that if Fishing Fire and Parrot had no intention of going back at all, they might have deliberately messed up the signal bar to ensure that no outsiders would come in.
If this place is indeed a mistake, then he and Ji Yueyao are likely in the most dangerous situation, because they have stepped into an unknown place without any precautions.
Looking at the exhausted and weak Ji Yueyao lying on his lap, Bai Yi frowned. He wasn't an offensive ability user, so if anything happened to him... Bai Yi sighed. For now, he could only wait for Ji Yueyao to wake up.
"Shh—" Just as the termites were about to carry Ji Yueyao up the tree, something under their feet seemed to move slightly.
The termite felt a chill and quickly leaped to the side. Just as he took off, a huge, blood-red carapace burst from the ground.
The termites landed, and then there was a violent shaking under his feet. He noticed the huge head and long antennae emerging from the spot where he had stepped. His eyes narrowed slightly, and he quickly picked up Ji Yueyao and ran to the back.
