Chapter Ninety-Two: Cooperation is Paramount

"Captain... the Forbidden Forest is very dangerous!" White Ant said anxiously. He had to follow the mission set by Mu Yan and protect Ji Yueyao.

“Wouldn’t it be more dangerous for you, a healing ability user, to go there?” Ji Yueyao rubbed her head, suppressing the worry and unease in her eyes. “Lin Xuan, you take care of things at the Nanxiao base for now. You and Kaqi stay here.”

"Captain!" Lin Xuan said reluctantly, "I...I want to go too, we're partners."

"What about the matter of you going to the Nanxiao base? If things get unclear here, how will you save Wei Kang?" Ji Yueyao said calmly, covering her forehead and leaning back on the sofa.

Long Xuan thought for a moment and then offered a compromise, "How about I go to the Forbidden Forest and you stay at the Nanxiao base?" The Forbidden Forest was far too dangerous; how could he possibly let his captain go there?

“You’re now the twentieth seat, it’ll be very troublesome for me to stay here and get things done.” Ji Yueyao sighed. “Alright, this is an order, Lin Xuan, you need to understand… I’ve entrusted all my escape routes to you.”

"I understand." Lin Xuan gritted his teeth and nodded heavily. That's right, Ji Yueyao had already entrusted him with all the escape routes, and he absolutely could not let her down.

"Captain, whose invitation should we use?" Lin Xuan looked at Ji Yueyao and suddenly remembered this, taking out two invitations from his pocket.

"I'll tell you when I get back." Ji Yueyao opened her eyes, frowned as she looked at the invitation in Lin Xuan's hand. She had originally planned to go see him tomorrow, but it seemed she had to start now.

Ji Yueyao casually tidied her hair, put on her coat, and went outside. The weather was starting to get cooler, and the sudden change in temperature was really unbearable.

And this feeling is indeed... inexplicably unpleasant.

"Sir, that... that Ji Yueyao, who sits next to Lin Xuan at the twentieth seat, is here." Wang Zhilong knocked on the door and came in, carrying a stack of documents.

"What is she doing here?" Chongyuan had never met Ji Yueyao, but he had heard some things about her from others, such as how she took care of a bird-like creature in one fell swoop, how she took care of Wu Tian and his group, and that the twentieth seat, Lin Xuan, was actually one of her people... She sounded like a pretty fiery woman.

Chongyuan shook his head with a roguish smile. "Let her go."

"Yes." Wang Zhilong nodded, put down the documents, and walked out. Chong Yuan flipped through the documents out of boredom, then yawned wearily.

"My lord." Before Chongyuan could finish yawning, Wang Zhilong knocked on the door again.

"What else could it be?" Chong Yuan roared, almost biting his tongue!

"Sir, Ji Yueyao said she can represent the bar. This is what she showed you." Wang Zhilong's expression was a little strange as he handed over the item in his hand. Chong Yuan took it and saw that it was the bar's manager's badge.

"Wow." Wang Zhilong was speechless. It is said that in addition to the most mysterious supreme manager, the bar also has a total of eleven manager badges distributed down. People with this badge are managed by the supreme manager, and their power is the full management right of the bar they run.

Ji Yueyao just blatantly showed him something so important? Wasn't she afraid he'd steal it?!

But Ji Yueyao is actually the manager of the bar at the Nanxiao base?

Chongyuan pursed his lips, tossed the thing in his hand into the air like a coin, then leaned back in his chair with an interested smile. "Let her in."

Wang Zhilong nodded, and then quickly brought Ji Yueyao in.

"Oh." A flicker of surprise crossed Chong Yuan's eyes when he saw Ji Yueyao, then he sat down in his chair with a cocky grin and said, "I wonder what brings you here, little beauty?"

The Ji Yueyao in front of him was completely different from what he remembered. She was probably just a little girl, maybe eighteen or nineteen years old at most... Chongyuan rubbed his forehead, not knowing what expression to make in front of such a young girl.

"Of course there's something to discuss." Ji Yueyao chuckled, then calmly sat down opposite Chong Yuan.

“Oh right, I remember I should have sent you an invitation…” Chongyuan chuckled as he looked at Ji Yueyao, who was yawning in front of him. “If the little beauty is so eager to see me, she can just bring our invitations.”

Ji Yueyao nodded, then tilted her head with an innocent look, "That's true." Then she continued to yawn boredly.

"..." Chongyuan's temple twitched. "Alright, what exactly do you want?"

Ji Yueyao blinked and stretched out her hand towards Chong Yuan, "Things."

"What is that?" Chongyuan's mind didn't quite process it for a moment.

"This is what I gave you." Ji Yueyao smiled innocently.

Chong Yuan paused for a moment, then took out the manager's badge he was holding and waved it in front of Ji Yueyao. "You want this?"

“This is mine.” Ji Yueyao narrowed her eyes, stretched out her hand, and Chong Yuan grinned slyly before tossing the coin over. “Here you go.”

Ji Yueyao received the coin and then looked at Chongyuan with great pleasure, "You just gave it to me like that? I thought you would take it."

Chongyuan snorted, staring at Ji Yueyao with a half-smile, "Hmm... if I take it, will you give it to me?"

“Of course…no.” Ji Yueyao shook her finger, then pointed to the cup on the corner of the table. The cup shattered into powder in an instant and disappeared. “I was thinking that if I get rid of you, maybe I can become the first seat.”

"Alright." Chongyuan's lips twitched slightly as he looked at the blanket on the corner of the table, then he opened his arms wide. "I'm so tired of being the first seat holder. If I could hand it over to a beautiful little girl like you..."

"Why don't you just fly to the sky?" Ji Yueyao looked at Chong Yuan speechlessly.

Chongyuan was completely dumbfounded.

"Alright, I'm here to cooperate with you this time," Ji Yueyao said, rolling her eyes.

Chongyuan blinked, seemingly puzzled, and said, "Didn't I send you an invitation? You could have just taken my invitation to the twenty-seat meeting."

“But I don’t want to be subordinate to anyone.” Ji Yueyao chuckled.

"That's quite arrogant of you," Chongyuan narrowed his eyes. "If you come under my command, I'll guarantee your safety, isn't that a good thing?"

"What can you offer to protect me?" Ji Yueyao casually placed her hand on a chair beside her and smiled faintly. "Or rather, if I offend the Second Seat, will you do everything in your power to protect me?"

“Then you’re not worth it.” Chongyuan narrowed his eyes.

Ji Yueyao chuckled, "So, I have no choice but to cooperate with you, so that I can stay safe and sound."

Rather than relying on the protection of the strong, it is better to become a qualified person and cooperate with the strong; this is where true value lies.

"Then what do you have to offer for our cooperation?" Chongyuan asked, spreading his hands expressionlessly.

"Oil, and 10% profit from bar," Ji Yueyao said casually, arms crossed.

Chong Yuan, though calm, also looked at Ji Yueyao with some wariness. "A girl like you can possess all this at the Nanxiao base... Ji Yueyao, which side are you on?" (To be continued.)
