Chapter Twenty-Nine: No Right to Cry

The monster in front of them stretched its long neck and chased after their car, making strange noises from time to time. Ji Yueyao only glanced at it a few times before clenching her teeth and unconsciously gripping the handrail tightly. Her mind was in turmoil.

Hearing Ji Yueyao's almost trembling voice, Ji Tiehan's eyes flashed with displeasure. He suddenly turned to look at her and asked, "What do you think we should do?"

Ji Yueyao didn't realize that Ji Tiehan was talking to her until Xu Lingnan nudged her and brought her back to her senses.

"Teacher, I don't know." Ji Yueyao gritted her teeth, shook her head in shame, and her face turned bright red under everyone's gaze. There were too many extraordinary people in front of her, and she really didn't know what to do.

"You don't know?" Ji Tiehan's smile suddenly turned cold. "Wei Kang, you tell me."

When Wei Kang heard Ji Tiehan call him, he was taken aback at first, then lowered his head and thought for a moment before saying, "This type of superhuman should be a weak-type superhuman, the long-necked superhuman. They are mutated from humans, have extremely low intelligence, and are not very strong physically."

Wei Kang paused, then looked at the expressionless Ji Tiehan and continued, "If the long-necked aliens act alone, they can be dealt with very easily, but if there is a group of them, it is indeed very troublesome."

Ji Tiehan nodded, then turned his gaze to Ji Yueyao, noticing that she was staring blankly at Wei Kang, as if she had just realized something.

"Ji Yueyao, you still can't answer the next question?"

Ji Tiehan's icy voice made Ji Yueyao clutch her clothes at her side helplessly. What Wei Kang had just said was from the books they had been reading these days, and she had read so many books but at this crucial moment she had no idea how to use them!

In her previous world, what she learned might not be useful in reality, but here, anything she learns can save her life in critical moments.

Ji Yueyao lowered her head, her face, which had turned red with embarrassment, gradually paled. Her voice sounded calm but contained a hint of shame. "The Long-Necked Alien's physical strength is not high. At the fastest speed, we can only travel for ten to fifteen minutes at most. As long as we try not to make any loud noises during this time, we can usually escape the Alien group. If we really can't escape, we can only fight them head-on, but fighting head-on is the worst option and should only be done as a last resort."

"You know now?" Ji Tiehan turned to look ahead and noticed that the number of long-necked aliens around them was gradually decreasing. Now there were only a few chasing from the side. It seemed that their luck wasn't bad and nothing unusual had happened. "Ji Yueyao, I'm so disappointed in you. If you continue to show no improvement, then go do what women are supposed to do and stop wasting your time here!"

Ji Yueyao looked up at Ji Tiehan in disbelief. When she saw the determination and indifference in his eyes, she nodded heavily, her fists clenched tightly. She felt an inexplicable urge to cry. The feeling of being looked down upon made her feel terrible, but she was afraid of losing face here. She swallowed hard and forced back her tears.

Ji Yueyao, what face do you have to cry now? You have neither the right to feel wronged nor the strength to back it up. You deserve to be looked down upon!

Ji Tiehan glanced at Ji Yueyao but didn't say anything. He just looked at the few long-necked aliens outside the window and said to Wei Kang, "Wei Kang, use your superpower to take care of them."

Upon hearing this, Wei Kang nodded and reached out to open the car door. Because the car was still moving, the sudden influx of cold air made everyone feel more comfortable in the sweltering heat.

Wei Kang pressed his hand firmly against the car door, maintaining his balance to ensure he wouldn't fall off, his eyes fixed on the strange man running in front of him.

A flash of fire appeared in his eyes, and almost instantly the several strange people in front of him burst into flames, then quickly turned to ashes amidst their wails.

The car continued to move forward. Wei Kang closed the car door and sat back down, staring blankly at his hands. Since becoming a superhuman, he had clearly felt that his body had become stronger than before, and his recovery speed had also become very fast.

Looking out the window, Wei Kang tried his best to suppress the surging emotions in his heart. As long as he continued to become stronger, he would one day be able to prove to that woman that becoming her mother was not a shameful thing!

Ji Yueyao looked at Wei Kang by the window with a complicated expression. Why wasn't she a superhuman?

She had seen everything clearly just now; Wei Kang had dealt with the several superhumans in front of him with almost no effort. If she had successfully absorbed Wei Kang's superhuman meteorite and become a superhuman herself... Ji Yueyao frowned sharply, shook her head to dismiss the thought. What was she thinking? Whether she became a superhuman or not wasn't something she could decide, and besides... it wouldn't have been bad for her if Wei Kang had become a superhuman.

Ji Yueyao sighed and turned to look out the window, lost in thought.

At this point, she was unaware that her yearning for power and authority was growing stronger and stronger.

One day, driven by this intense longing in her heart, she will climb step by step over thorns to ascend the throne that everyone looks up to.

The car continued driving across the sandy ground and arrived at the military location two days later.

The car stopped at the main gate of the military base. Before Ji Yueyao and the others could even breathe a sigh of relief, several soldiers surrounded them.

"Who are you people?" One of them knocked on the driver's window, holding a gun and looking warily at the people inside the car.

"We are from the Xiyu Base, here to participate in this competition among the five major forces," Ji Tiehan said calmly to the soldier, then took out a certificate from his pocket.
