There are no privately owned restaurants now, and people who come to town to eat have to go to state-owned restaurants.
Jiang Qingwu looked at the time. It took her a long time to sell the supplies. It would be too late to cook for Zhou Yunzhou after she got back, so she went straight to the state-owned restaurant to buy some takeaway food.
Jiang Qingwu had fair skin and outstanding temperament. She was wearing a white dress with small yellow flowers, which was particularly eye-catching and also attracted the waiters of the state-owned restaurant.
The waiters see a lot of people coming to eat every day, and people like Jiang Qingwu are obviously people who have plenty of money.
The waiter who was serving the customer with patches on his clothes with an expressionless face immediately ignored the customer who was ordering meat buns and looked at Jiang Qingwu with a smile on his face when he saw Jiang Qingwu coming over.
"Hello, I'm here to serve the people. What can I do for you?"
Jiang Qingwu never had a good impression of such people. He just said in a light tone, "I want 10 meat buns, and then one portion of sweet and sour pork, one portion of dried tofu with hot peppers, and one portion of braised pork. All packed."
When the waiter heard Jiang Qingwu order so many dishes without blinking, including meat buns, he was even more certain that this was a wealthy man.
"Okay, comrade, do you want anything else? Our pork stewed with vermicelli and sweet and sour fish... are all delicious. Would you like some more?"
The waitress kept talking about the dishes in the state-owned restaurant, as if Jiang Qingwu would get a bonus if she ordered more. She acted no different from most modern salespeople.
Although Jiang Qingwu felt that it was a bit rude to interrupt her, compared to her behavior of rolling her eyes at the guest just now, she was already very polite. Besides, her son was still in the space, and it was almost time for her to deliver food to Zhou Yunzhou.
"Excuse me, I remember you just saying you were serving the people. I'm a member of the people, not a victim. You recommended so many dishes to me because you only wanted me to spend money. You didn't think about whether the food would go bad or be wasted if I couldn't finish it in such hot weather."
The waiter's face turned red after being scolded by Jiang Qingwu, but he felt a little unwilling to be scolded in front of so many customers, and rolled his eyes at Jiang Qingwu again.
Jiang Qingwu's delicate face finally showed an expression. The corners of her mouth curled up in a cold sneer. "Apologize for your rudeness just now, or I won't mind reporting you to your manager. You claim to serve the people, but in reality, you're just acting differently based on your situation. I believe if you don't want to lose this job, you have your own plans."
The waiter heard the threat in Jiang Qingwu's voice. His family had spent a lot of money to buy this job. If he lost this job, his parents would beat him to death.
The waiter gritted his teeth and could only apologize to Jiang Qingwu. Jiang Qingwu was too lazy to pay attention to him. After giving him the bill, he sat next to him and waited for the dishes he ordered.
After packing, Jiang Qingwu took the lunch box and left. Little Sun had already woken up. Jiang Qingwu went into the space to give Little Sun some milk powder, then carried him out of the space to ride the village's ox cart.
Uncle Li was still standing under the big tree not far from the supply and marketing cooperative. Jiang Qingwu held Little Sun in her arms and walked quickly to the tree.
"Uncle Li, I'm not late, am I?" Jiang Qingwu said with an embarrassed smile.
"No, no, there are not many people coming to town from the village right now. It's okay for me to wait a while. It would be a bit inconvenient for you to hold the child."
Jiang Qingwu thanked him sincerely, "Thank you, Uncle Li."
After Jiang Qingwu carried Little Sun on the ox cart, Uncle Li drove the cart back to the village. Jiang Qingwu was afraid that Little Sun would be too hot, so she put a sun hat on him and took out a palm-leaf fan from the space to fan Little Sun.
While Uncle Li was driving the ox cart and not paying attention, Jiang Qingwu took out a bag of apples, a watermelon, pork, pig's trotters, and mutton from the space and put them all in the backpack.
When they arrived at the village entrance, Jiang Qingwu got off the ox cart holding Little Sun, put the packed lunch box in the backpack, and stuffed two meat buns into Uncle Li to express his gratitude.
He came back just in time. Every household was already delivering meals. Jiang Qingwu carried Little Sun in her arms and a basket on her back and went to the fields to deliver meals to Zhou Yunzhou.
Zhou Yunzhou was in a state of anxiety this morning. He was worried that Jiang Qingwu was tired of holding the little sun, and he was also worried that Jiang Qingwu had been lying to him for the past two days. What if she took her son away and never came back, how would he live?
Later, she cursed herself in her heart. She didn't ask the team leader to get a letter of introduction, so it was impossible for her to leave. What's more, she was an educated youth sent to the countryside, and it would be even more difficult for her to move forward without a letter of introduction.
He thought that when he felt upset, he would just drink a few gulps of the mung bean soup that Jiang Qingwu asked him to bring. When he felt less upset, he would continue to work. He had been thinking so much that his brain was about to explode all morning.
He had no choice but to wait every minute for the time for lunch to be delivered, looking forward to seeing his wife.
When Jiang Qingwu walked over, Zhou Yunzhou was staring at the direction she might have come from. He looked at everyone and it wasn't her. He felt so upset. His expectation was slowly dashed. He felt more and more upset, and his eyes gradually turned red.
Zhou Yunzhou's eyes gradually dimmed, and suddenly he heard his wife's sweet voice coming over, "Zhou Yunzhou, Zhou Yunzhou."
Zhou Yunzhou suddenly raised his head and saw his wife and son walking towards him. He immediately stood up, brushed off the dirt on his body, and ran over to pick up his wife and son.
"Wife, let me get it." He was dirty, so he didn't hold his son and took the backpack.
Jiang Qingwu held Little Sun in her arms and said to him as they walked, "I figured it would be too late to go home and cook, so I packed some vegetables and meat buns from the state-owned restaurant and we'll have a quick meal."
