Chapter 41 Going up the mountain

As soon as the two people, one big and one small, entered the mountains, they could instantly feel the moist and cool air hitting them in the face.

This place is near the sea and the weather is relatively humid, which is also conducive to the growth of these mushrooms.

The big and small were chatting and laughing and having a great time.

But most of the time, it was Dabao who was talking and Song Chucheng who was laughing.

But both of them were lucky, as the first thing they saw was the red mushroom.

It is located on a small slope. This red mushroom is rich in nutrients and tastes delicious. It is known as the king of mushrooms. The simplest way to cook this red mushroom is to stew it in pork ribs soup or chicken soup. It tastes delicious.

"Dabao, you are such a lucky baby. Look! We found red mushrooms as soon as we arrived."

Song Chucheng kept praising Dabao, which made him feel dizzy and his face flushed. The little guy was so happy.

They were each responsible for one side, and in a short while, each of them had harvested almost half a pound of red mushrooms.

Song Chucheng felt that Dabao was more and more capable. She, an adult, and a kid could do almost the same things?

Song Chucheng was extremely grateful that he was not in a position to earn work points every day.

Based on her fighting ability, she is only comparable to a five-year-old kid. If she does this for a long time, she may be even worse than a five-year-old kid.

After the two put away the red mushrooms, they walked forward a little further. Looking at the surrounding environment, Song Chucheng thought that now that he had red mushrooms, he still needed chickens! So, with his eyes shining, he said, "Dabao, do you think there are pheasants among these weeds?"

Dabao looked at Song Chucheng, who was beaming with joy, and felt reluctant to criticize her: "Yes, there are! But the pheasants here are very sneaky. Only Dad and his friends can catch them. We can't catch them."

When they went up the mountain, they would sometimes see these fat pheasants strolling in front of them, making them drool, but they just couldn't catch them. As long as they took a step forward, the pheasant would run away.

Song Chucheng was delighted to hear this. "That's good!" She had the Jade Spirit Water to cheat. She wasn't afraid of not catching the pheasant, but she was afraid of not having any.

Song Chucheng used the backpack as a cover and took out two ropes from it.

Then she pretended to take out a small cabbage from the backpack, which left Dabao dumbfounded. Why did Sister Orange bring everything?

Song Chucheng glanced at Dabao proudly and said, "Sister Chengzi will teach you how to outsmart a pheasant today."

Dabao looked at Song Chucheng, who looked so imposing, and his little face became tense.

Seeing him like that, Song Chucheng also found it very interesting. He picked up a rope and made a noose, put it in the weeds, and then threw a vegetable leaf on it.

The other end of the rope was tied to a tree, mainly because we were worried that Dabao might not be strong enough.

If it is tied like this, as long as Dabao tightens the noose, the pheasant will not be able to escape even if she doesn't pull it. She won't need to use her own noose and can just pull it herself.

"Dabao, here's the rope for you. Let's hide first, and when the pheasant is caught in the trap, we'll pull it hard.

That way we can catch it and we won't have to worry about it running away."

Dabao nodded vigorously after hearing this: "I understand! I will definitely pull it hard later."

Song Chucheng looked at Dabao, who had a tense face, patted his head and said, "Okay, let's hide quickly!"

The two similar little faces were both tense and staring straight ahead. After a while, they heard a rustling sound not far from where they had set the trap.

The two looked at each other, each holding their breath nervously. The sound was getting closer and closer to them, and then it was the sound they had been expecting: "Guji, Guji!"

At the same time, what caught the eye were two shiny-looking creatures with their necks held high, looking around with two cunning little eyes.

Then they flapped their wings quickly and ran towards the vegetable leaves in the sets of Song Chucheng and the others. The two pheasants moved at the same time. Song Chucheng and Dabao saw the right opportunity and pulled hard at the same time.

One was wrapped around the neck, the other around the feet, and both were pulling hard.

The pheasant flapped its wings for a while and then ran out of strength.

Dabao hurried over, picked up a stone nearby and hit each of the two pheasants with it.

The two pheasants finally quieted down! "Oh my god! This is so tiring, I'm dying of exhaustion!" Song Chucheng sat down on the ground and panted.

Dabao also ran over quickly, carrying two pheasants. "Sister Chengzi, you are so amazing! You really caught a pheasant!"

Song Chucheng smiled and touched Dabao's head: "Dabao is also very good, look, this one was caught by Dabao."

When Dabao heard her words, his eyes became particularly bright and beautiful.

"Dabao, when we get back, we'll make beggar's chicken."

After hearing what Sister Orange said, even though I didn't know what beggar's chicken was, I just wanted to eat it! I nodded vigorously: "Okay, Sister Orange." After saying that, I didn't forget to swallow my saliva.

Song Chucheng put away the vegetable leaves and turned around to see two pheasants that had been tied up by Dabao.

Song Chucheng praised him a few times, and the two of them found a place. Song Chucheng swapped the cloth bag in the backpack with the space.

Then he took out the cloth bag, opened it, spread it flat on the ground, and the two of them sat on it.

Song Chucheng laid out the food, poured Dabao a glass of honey water, and the two began to eat.

After showing off for a while, the two of them walked around again and found a small patch of poplar mushrooms. After picking them, they happily went down the mountain.

As soon as they got home, Dabao boiled water and Song Chucheng killed a chicken. They stewed one with the red mushrooms they picked, and made the other into beggar's chicken. They worked for an hour on these two chickens.

Song Chucheng also picked out some nice chicken feathers, preparing to make a chicken feather shuttlecock for Dabao when the time comes.

She first stewed the red mushroom chicken in a casserole, and marinated the other one with seasoning and set it aside for later use.

He took a bucket and took Dabao to the bamboo forest. There was a banana tree there, and the two of them cut a leaf.

On the way back, I dug some yellow mud from the stream.

Wrap the marinated chicken with cleaned banana leaves, tie it with a rope, wrap it with mud, and throw it into the wood-burning stove used to cook the chicken!

Stew the chicken on low heat, and put the beggar's chicken underneath. Dabao watched the fire while Song Chucheng went to clean up the battlefield outside.

You don’t have to cook in the evening. There is beggar’s chicken and chicken soup. You can just make some chicken soup noodles.

Song Chucheng cleaned up the yard and the beggar's chicken was ready. He picked up the fire tongs and took out the beggar's chicken.

Then slowly use fire tongs to tap off the excess charcoal.

I took a large iron basin, put it in the pot, and brought it to the yard to cool.

At this time, the red mushroom chicken soup also emitted a rich aroma. Song Chucheng and Dabao took a deep breath.

The look and the movement were perfectly synchronized! But neither of them noticed.

"Dabao, let's go! Let's go get the beggar's chicken first. Let the chicken soup simmer for a while."

Upon hearing this, Dabao put a small piece of wood inside and followed Song Chucheng out.
