Chapter 340 - 239: Let’s Sleep First!

Her wedding should be as grand as possible!

The wedding planner yelled out loudly: "First bow to heaven and earth!"

"Second bow to parents!" Mu Houchu, who had neither father nor mother, had invited his old servant, who had looked after him since he was a child. He still served Mu faithfully, even when the Prince’s Mansion was burnt down and no one survived. The servant, who had risked his life to escape with the young Mu Houchu, had become like a father to him.

"Couple’s bow!"

Mu Houchu turned around, looking at Xin He, his eyes filled with laughter, and he bowed with her sincerely.

Everyone in the hall who were watching the spectacle was so shocked and stunned, their faces frozen.

Could this really be the heartless and ruthless Mu Houchu known for not blinking an eye while killing?!

The wedding planner choked on her shout, even forgetting her next line.

It wasn’t until Mu Houchu swept his gaze over her that the planner anxiously yelled out, "Enter the bridal chamber!"

Mu Houchu was very satisfied to hear this. He had been busy all day long just for this moment. It hadn’t been easy.

Mu Houchu led her to the bridal chamber.

No one dared to follow this time, and no one dared to surround them. They walked quite freely.

A little kid, who enjoyed watching the excitement, quietly pulled his father’s sleeve: "Dad, Dad, why aren’t we going to make noise in the bridal chamber? Don’t we want to see the bride lift her veil?"

The official turned pale with fright and hurriedly covered the child’s mouth, then lowered his voice: "Would you dare to make noise in Marquis Mu’s bridal chamber? Don’t you value your life?"

The little kid blinked and protested, "Even if we can’t make noise in the bridal chamber, we can still look at the bride, right? Don’t they let children in to watch when the veil is lifted? I think the bride must be very pretty; I want to see her too."

The official implored with a pale face, "Look? Speak one more nonsense and Dad won’t take you out again next time."

The child instantly behaved himself and quietly stayed put.

Inside the bridal chamber, it was unusually quiet. Even the lively wedding planner seemed not to follow.

Xin He took a seat by the bed, feeling strange.

Then a Ruyi Jade gently and carefully lifted the red veil over her head.

Xin He looked up at the man standing in front of her, blinked her eyes, and laughed, "Aren’t we waiting for the wedding planner to arrange the lifting of the veil?"

Mu Houchu looked at the woman in front of him, his heart slightly wavering. This was the woman he was marrying - an incredulously beautiful woman.

Mu Houchu reached out to touch her face, and couldn’t help but lean in to kiss her.

Xin He quickly dodged, her eyes widened and she exclaimed, "Mu Houchu! Do you think that just because we’ve entered the bridal chamber, it’s actually the wedding night?! There are still so many guests outside. Are you not going to take care of them?!"

Mu Houchu turned her little face towards him, once again attempting to kiss her: "I don’t care."

With his wife by his side, why should he bother about these uncouth guests?

Xin He pushed against his chest, widening the distance between them, her eyes wider still, "How can you not care? This is your wedding! Aren’t you, as the groom, supposed to entertain the guests? And where is the wedding planner? Why are we the only two people in the bridal chamber?!"

Was he making fun of her, a modern person, for not understanding the rules of this ancient time? There was a whole series of rituals for lifting the veil, and all of them were to be arranged by the wedding planner. During this period, female relatives and children could come and watch. So why were there no sign of anyone in the bridal chamber now?

It wasn’t that Xin He cared about these rituals, but rather, it seemed the man intended to consummate their marriage immediately! He didn’t bother about the guests, and she feared she would lose face if it was known!

Mu Houchu sat next to her, lightly stroking her cheek, smirking: "Why should others see when I unveil my wife?"

Xin He glared at him, "So you didn’t let anyone else into the bridal chamber?"

Mu Houchu scowled, "You’re dressed so beautifully. If someone else see you, then wouldn’t that be a loss for me?"

Despite seeing this face for a year, he was still dazzled when he lifted the veil today – how could he bear to share it with others? He wouldn’t stand his wife being stared at by others.

Xin He facepalmed, "..."

Mu Houchu took advantage of the situation and attempted to push her down, but Xin He, foreseeing what he was going to do, quickly stood up and avoided him, saying with irritation, "Mu Houchu! The entire mansion is filled with guests. Aren’t you concerned that if you don’t go out and entertain them, I’ll be left embarrassed if the news spreads? Especially given that it’s broad daylight..."

She hesitated, embarrassed by her own words, this man!

Mu Houchu also stood up, edging closer to her with an ambiguous smile, "We’ve tried it in the wilderness. Daytime should be nice too."

As long as he was with her, it was always nice.

Xin He ground her teeth in frustration at this shameless man!

"No! Which groom doesn’t go out to entertain the guests and rushes into the bridal chamber instead?" Xin He said, blushing. Only this man could do such a thing!

"I have set a precedent today, so there will be one in the future." Mu Houchu took a step towards her.

Xin He kept moving backwards, grinding her teeth, "But what will people think? I can’t bear this shame!"

Mu Houchu continued advancing on her, staring intently, "It’s okay, I will have them removed and the door closed to the guests."

Xin He backed against the wall, hastily saying, "So if you send everyone away, do you think they won’t have any thoughts? By early morning, the capital will be filled with rumours about..."

"What business is it of theirs if I sleep with my wife?" Mu Houchu saw that Xin He had nowhere else to run, and was preparing to lean in for a kiss.

No matter what, he will sleep with her first!

Ever since he tasted her sweetness, he hadn’t been able to sleep peacefully in the past seven days.

He had waited until today, his patience stretched to its limit.

But Xin He quickly turned her head away, saying indignantly, "Mu Houchu, you said you would give me a complete wedding ceremony!"

Mu Houchu paused and finally stopped, "We have bowed to heaven and earth and walked through the ceremony, how is it not complete?"

His tone suggested a slight sense of grievance.

Xin He stated grumpily, "No! You must complete all the procedures of the wedding ceremony for me today! Now, go out immediately!"

Otherwise, tomorrow morning, the capital would surely be filled with rumors: Marquis Mu was so enthralled by his wife that he asked all guests to leave!

Could she bear such shame? How would she face others in the future?
