Chapter 345: Did I Hurt You?

With a "hiss" of tearing cloth, the meticulously crafted wedding dress was torn apart. Xin He was truly furious and in pain. When would this man ever change his violent ways?!

But under the current circumstance, it was best to try and appease this man, or else she would be the one to suffer.

"I don’t want you not to kill him, but you have to consider that he is Elder Duan’s only legitimate son, right? If you openly oppose Elder Duan like this, how will things be in the future... uh..."

Mu Houchu covered her mouth with his body, interrupting her.

Xin He could feel the persistent, oppressive aura of death, unable to be suppressed even by his desire.

He was genuinely angry.

But why was he so angry? They were already married, and her choice from beginning to end was him, wasn’t it? Even when she had once been utterly disheartened by him, she had never considered Duan Lan. What was there about this man worth getting so angry over?

Mu Houchu suddenly stopped and slightly lifted his head, his cold gaze fixed onto her tear-soaked, shimmering eyes, his voice hoarse and gloomy: "This is the price you’ve paid for sparing Duan Lan’s life. There can’t be a next time. No man can come between us."

Looking at his cold eyes, Xin He couldn’t help but shudder at a sudden chill on her back. Was he angry about this?

Xin He suddenly felt wronged, biting her lip and turning her head away, refusing to speak or acknowledge him.

Her tears brimming in her eyes but not falling, she stubbornly held her ground.

Mu Houchu looked at her like this, even his hardest heart softened. He sighed lightly in his heart. This woman was truly the bane of his existence in this lifetime, and he couldn’t get angry with her.

Mu Houchu lowered his head and kissed the corner of her lips, his tone softened considerably: "Did I hurt you?"

Xin He’s eyes were a mix of anger and resentment. She remained silent, refusing to look at him, obviously very upset.

Knowing that this little woman was not easily placated when her temper flared, Mu Houchu decided not to speak to her any further. Kissing down from the corner of her lips all the way to her ear, the woman beneath him visibly trembled in response.

Mu Houchu’s lips curled into an almost imperceptible smile as he looked into her teary eyes. Where was the anger now? He was only afraid of causing her the slightest bit of pain.

In no time, a blush spread across Xin He’s face. Biting her lip with increasing force, she tried to contain her emotions. In her heart, she cursed Mu Houchu a hundred times – this shameless man was doing it on purpose!

Mu Houchu knew that she was stubborn and wouldn’t back down easily, so he wouldn’t give her a chance to continue being angry. When she was upset in the past, he always felt helpless. Firstly, because he genuinely didn’t have any experience in appeasing women, and secondly, because he could never underestimate this gentle and fragile little woman.

Now it seemed there was nothing a good night of sleep couldn’t fix. If that wasn’t enough, they’d sleep twice!

"Mmm~" A pair of jade-like arms involuntarily wrapped around his neck.

Mu Houchu lowered his head and kissed her lips: "Still angry?"

Xin He’s heart filled with both anger and embarrassment, she pushed him away: "Yes, I’m still angry!"

Though her words were clear, her voice sounded like a coquettish whisper, soft and enticing, like a little wild cat.

"Mmmph mmmph mmmph mmmph!" (Mu Houchu, you scoundrel!)

The next morning, Shulan paced back and forth in front of the bedroom door several times.

"It’s already late in the morning, why hasn’t the Eldest Miss woken up yet?"

Meanwhile, Xiaoyu sat on the edge of the corridor, calmly embroidering a handkerchief, "What’s the rush? Just wait."

"I’m worried that the Eldest Miss is feeling unwell. Normally, she would have woken up by now!" Shulan sat down next to Xiaoyu, her concern showing.

Xiaoyu laughed, "What are you worried about? If the Eldest Miss is unwell, the minister is in the room. Why would you need to care? A married woman is different from before. It’s normal for her to wake up a bit later."

Xiaoyu recalled last night when Mu Houchu carried their Eldest Miss angrily into the room. She couldn’t help but shiver. Especially considering the situation last night, it was more than normal for her to wake up late!

As she thought about it, Xiaoyu couldn’t help but feel a little heartache as she glanced at the tightly shut bedroom door. The Eldest Miss was probably going to suffer a little.

Shulan, however, didn’t understand and asked, "Why would that be? Just because they’re married, they should wake up later? What kind of reasoning is that?"

Xiaoyu smiled, "You’ve been raised in the old lady’s room since you were little, so you naturally wouldn’t understand. Once you get married, you’ll know."

Shulan’s face flushed, "How come you know? You haven’t been married yet, have you?"

Xiaoyu huffed. She had once lived in the room of the third concubine in the Hou Mansion and had even been a night watch maid. What kind of scene hadn’t she seen?

When Xin He slowly woke up, she couldn’t help but raise her hand to rub her eyes.
