Chapter 393: Who Taught You?

"Oh no!"

Xiaoyu grabbed one of them by the collar and with a forceful flip, made him turn around.

A small face revealed overwhelming fear, his eyes wide open as he chuckled nervously: "Hehe."

Xiaoyu furrowed her brows: "Young Master Xiaobei?"

Xin He had already stood up and walked over, her expression sank when she saw Xiaobei: "What are you here for?"

You’re too young to be here, how dare you come to such a place?

The little firewood that narrowly escaped earlier came back as well, standing next to Xiaobei. The two exchanged glances and then lowered their heads as if admitting their mistake: "We were wrong."

"Your audacity grows day by day. Did you think you could come and go at will? You’re already fond of wandering to such places at your age?" Xin He wouldn’t be lenient on this matter and revealed her authoritative side as an elder sister, clearly about to get angry.

Xiaobei hastily replied, "It’s not that... I didn’t come here to play. I just knew that sister is coming to view the Oiran competition that’s been under preparation for a month, so I wanted to see it too. Additionally, I was afraid that you might be bullied when alone here. I’ve heard that the Flower House is usually chaotic and Brother Mu Chu has not returned yet, so I didn’t feel safe leaving you alone here at night."

Xin He’s gaze swept over the little firewood, who kept quiet but lowered his head, apparently agreeing silently.

Only then did Xin He relax a bit: "You two little ones, are you worried about me? If anything did happen, wouldn’t I be the one to protect you both?"

However, Xiaobei insisted, "Xiaobei has also started martial arts training now, Xiaobei can also protect my sister."

Xin He laughed and responded, "Better stay safe yourself first, kid."

"Is sister not angry anymore?" Xiaobei blinked his eyes and asked cautiously.

Xin He made a stern face and retorted, "Who said I’m not angry? As a child, what are you doing in such a place? Go back home, all of you!"

"Let Xiaobei stay here, sister. Xiaobei really just wants to keep you company. I won’t look at anything else!" Xiaobei pleaded.

Suddenly, a gong sound came from outside, and right after, Madam Chen came onto the stage, happily announcing, "Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the Oiran competition at our Flower House! Tonight, the Oiran competition officially begins!"

Xin He frowned slightly. Now that the Oiran competition was starting, she had no time to continue arguing with them. So she said firmly, "Fine then, this time. But don’t let it happen again. And no peeking; you’re still children, don’t pick up bad habits!"

"Okay!" Xiaobei was completely uninterested in the competition and only cared about his sister being alone here.

"Xiaoyu, keep an eye on them," Xin He said, and then walked to the window, took a seat and started drinking tea while watching the opera.

As the opening gong for the Oiran competition echoed, the hall had already become lively with incessant noise.

Madam Chen looked up at Xin He, who merely nodded in response. Madam Chen then cleared her throat and started, "Now, let us talk about the contest rules for the Oiran competition!"

"What rules? Hurry up and start the show, what’s the holdup?" The crowd under the stage became agitated. They came for the beauties paintings and had no patience for an older woman bumbling around on stage.

But Madam Chen was not bothered at all. On the contrary, seeing the enthusiastic faces of the crowd, she felt even more delighted, waved her handkerchief, and laughed, "I understand the gentlemen’s impatience. However, the rules of our competition this time are quite different from past ones, so it’s better to listen."

"What rules?"

"The selection of the Oiran this time is entirely in the hands of the gentlemen. Each gentleman will receive a vote. Whichever lady gets your vote, that’s the one who wins. When we count the votes, whoever gets the most votes will be the Oiran of tonight!"

The spectators’ eyes lit up: "Hey, sounds interesting."

Madam Chen continued, "The Oiran competition officially starts now. Who will become the Oiran; the decision is now entirely in your hands. Everyone, please watch carefully, choose wisely, and don’t disappoint us by choosing a mediocre Oiran, which will knock our reputation."

"Hahaha! Interesting! Great! Hurry up and start." The crowd under the stage erupted in cheers.

Judging from the positive reaction, Madam Chen felt satisfied and relieved. She looked up at Xin He.

Xin He merely lifted her lips and said nothing, but took a sip from her tea cup.

Shulan curiously asked, "Did madam make these rules? The customers may not necessarily choose the best one. Wouldn’t it be more appropriate to have a professional music teacher or a dance teacher as the judge?"

"Running a Flower House is ultimately about providing entertainment. It’s just fun, why should it be so rigid? Who becomes the Oiran, what does it matter?" Xin He replied lightly.

Shulan scratched her head, slightly confused.

All of a sudden, the little firewood interjected, "Giving the customers the right to choose gives them a sense of participation. Naturally, they will watch more enthusiastically and be more engaged."

Shulan’s eyes widened, "Is that so?"

Xin He raised an eyebrow and turned to look, "Who taught you that?"

Xiaobei and the little firewood were both seated in the farthest corner of the box and could not see the outside scene. However, the voices from outside were clearly audible.

The little firewood curled his lips and replied, "I guessed."

Xin he laughed, "You’re quite smart."

Little firewood lowered his gaze and said nothing more.

Looking at him, Xin He’s lips curled slightly. This child, he’s indeed promising.

As the frantic dance music rang out, the dance of Hua Rao officially began.

On the stage, Xin He had specially prepared a big curtain. When Madam Chen exited the stage, the curtain was dropped, obscuring the scene on stage from the audience. Suddenly it was pulled open again, revealing nine beauties standing on the stage, their smiles filled with pride and arrogance.

They wore short black skirts exposing their long thighs, a gust of wind seemed enough to lift those skirts.

The audience below gasped one after another, some of them could even be heard swallowing.

"This, this, these are the beauties from the paintings!" Someone shouted first.

The whole scene was set ablaze with excitement. They had felt the paintings were beautiful, they never imagined how thrilling it would be to see them live. It was simply unbelievable!

"Ah, I remember! I remember!"

"Who is the one in the white dress?"

The audience’s eyes were glued to the stage. Eight girls in short black dresses were standing on both sides, while the one in the center, dressed in a white dress, was standing alone, her back to them.

Even though her back was turned, just seeing her seductive figure was enough to know she would be a knockout!

Just as the crowd was about to get rowdy, the music slowed down and the beat of the drums became more prominent, rhythmically banging.

The beautiful woman in the white dress swayed to the rhythm, her movements not large, but occasionally tilting her head to reveal a faint side profile, enough to captivate the spectators below. They stared intently, swallowing.
