Chapter 433: Don’t Kill It

"Young Master, look at how stingy this couple is, only renting such a small, broken boat. They likely have little money or backing; compared to your substantial wealth, Young Master, it’s quite clear who is superior. Even if the young lady isn’t blind, she’ll certainly know whom to choose." The servant’s flattery was loud and clear!

Although Sun Yaowen was pleased by what he heard, he wasn’t foolish! He had met this woman twice, and both times she’d ignored him completely, proving she hadn’t given him a second thought.

Especially considering her husband - his appearance and demeanor were quite impressive. Although Sun Yaowen was loathed to admit it, he couldn’t deny the truth - the young lady seemed rather fond of her husband.

Watching from afar, he saw them acting lovey-dovey aboard the small boat, paying him no mind whatsoever.

Sun Yaowen, his face like thunder, glared at the servant. "Stop talking rubbish! Just get to the point!"

The servant hurriedly lowered his voice and said, "I’ll have someone sneak into the water later, drill a hole in their broken boat, and then wait for it to sink. My men will hold the man underwater. The best scenario is that he drowns, Young Master. Just then, you can play the hero and save the beauty. Soaked and grieving, she certainly won’t refuse your comfort. After such an experience, she’ll have to rely on you for a long time."

Sun Yaowen’s eyes shone brightly, and he nodded excitedly. "You have quite the cunning mind, don’t you? What are you waiting for? Hurry up and get it done!"

The servant bobbed his head, clearly seeking to please. "Don’t worry, Young Master! I’ll make it happen. You’re sure to win the fair lady’s heart today!"

——

Ji Xinhe was currently occupied with playing in the water and snacking. She paid no mind to what plot Sun Yaowen was cooking up. Selecting a small boat was her idea. It was a date after all - just the two of them. Renting a larger boat would be no fun at all. It was far more entertaining to drift upon the lake in a small craft.

"I heard that there have been some troubles at your Flower Pavilion recently.· Would you like me to lend a hand?" Marquis Mu inquired softly.

Xin He snorted lightly, "If I can’t handle problems like these, I might as well give up on doing business."

"Xinhe, don’t try to act so tough. I am your husband, and I don’t want you to be upset over trivial things." Marquis Mu said, his heart aching at the sight of her furrowed brows.

He hated when she so much as knitted her brows. How could he stand by when she was distressed over the troubles at the Flower Pavilion?

Xin He replied hastily, "You should stay out of this. If you do something, you’ll probably destroy the Yihong Courtyard in the process. I’m a legitimate businesswoman, not an underworld figure! We have purposefully retired to Lian’an Town to placate the Emperor, so best to keep a low profile."

The main point was, Marquis Mu’s methods are always swift and decisive, drawing attention to him and hence to herself. The powers in the capital, who are already suspicious of her, would undoubtedly guess that the owner of the Flower Pavilion is her. This would place her moves under tight scrutiny, preventing her from acting on her plans. Hence, she cannot afford to ruin them all at once.

Marquis Mu heaved a sigh, his beloved was always worrying.

"Alright then, have it your way, but if anyone dares to bully you... " Marquis Mu’s thought trailed off as his expression suddenly hardened, his eyes taking on a killing intent.

Sensing something was amiss, Xinhe became alert, the understanding passes between them without a word spoken.

The boatman, feeling the strange tension, was about to speak.

Suddenly, Marquis Mu’s hand turned and he pushed a surge of internal force towards a spot beneath their boat. The person hidden below coughed up blood and died without a sound, not even able to react.

Just one look was enough to see that the man didn’t have any combat skill, he certainly wasn’t an assassin sent from the capital.

Only then did Ji Xinhe’s face soften a little. She lowered her voice and said, "This man is too incompetent. He can’t be an assassin sent from the capital. Who could it be?"

Marquis Mu slightly turned his head and saw a large boat that had been trailing them from a distance ever since they set off. On the deck, Sun Yaowen was intensely watching them, an anxious but expectant look on his face.

The man hidden under their boat died without a sound, not even the boatman had noticed, let alone Sun Yaowen.

Seeing the glint in his eyes, it seemed he still had some tricks up his sleeve.

A chilling light flashed in Marquis Mu’s eyes.

Following the direction of Marquis Mu’s gaze, Ji Xinhe understood and couldn’t help but chuckle. Sun Yaowen really was worthless, resorting to such low and stupid tactics!

Seeing the hint of ferocity in Marquis Mu’s eyes, Ji Xinhe hurriedly grabbed his hand, "Don’t kill him."

Whenever Marquis Mu had that look in his eyes, someone was about to be ruthlessly eliminated.

Marquis Mu sneered, "You can’t bear to part with him?"

Xinhe hastily replied with a smile, "How could I possibly cherish him? However, as you know, I’m like a hunter, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike a major blow at Yihong Courtyard. If you kill Sun Yaowen, my connection with the Yihong Courtyard will be completely severed. That would be such a waste!"

Now that Sun Yaowen is in charge of Yihong Courtyard and secretly colluding with Yi Ling, Ji Xinhe has seized the initiative. She will surely make Yi Ling and Yihong Courtyard pay double for the previous setback! If Sun Yaowen died, Yi Ling would lose her value, and the Sun Family would quickly appoint another successor to manage the Yihong Courtyard.

The next person to take over could be a much tougher opponent than the useless Sun Yaowen, which would spoil the perfect opportunity to take control of the Yihong Courtyard. It simply isn’t worth the sacrifice. Even if Sun Yaowen had to die, he should wait until she has made her move and ruined the Yihong Courtyard!

Marquis Mu looked at his pitiful wife begging for mercy. He snorted, "Fine, have it your way."

With that, he directed a huge wave with his palm towards the lake’s surface. Under his impressive internal force, a huge wave rose instantly and rushed towards Sun Yaowen’s ship.

A series of screams rang out as the huge wave, stirred up by his internal force, struck Sun Yaowen’s large ship, and causing the ship to capsize and sink instantly.

Sun Yaowen, who had been standing at the head of the ship, was smacked directly by the wave and thrown overboard.

"Ahh!"

"Young Master! Young Master! Someone save the Young Master!"
