That Sun Family Madam Song mentioned earlier is probably indeed the Sun Family she knew about.
Yu State is not too small nor too big, especially with marriages between families not being uncommon. This intricate web of kinship relationships probably connects all the aristocratic families in Yu State if traced back three generations.
If that’s the case, some things now make sense.
Madam Song hadn’t mentioned anything about the Sun Family’s birthday banquet when she arrived yesterday. She probably had no intention to go, as the birthday party is hosted by the Sun Family, the maternal home of the third Madam. It’s no wonder she had these thoughts. In her world, women are subject to men; before marriage, their comfort depends on the father; after marriage, their comfort depends on the husband. She never thought that women can also be independent.
What she did not expect was that a woman who only follows the Three Obediences and Four Virtues could not control a man like Marquis Mu, or even if she won his heart, she would hardly be able to follow him, and would be increasingly self-abasement and even exhausted by his side. "But with madam being pregnant, I can’t rest easy. If the master knows it..." Xiaoyu sighed helplessly.
Xin He blinked, "Don’t worry. I’m just going out for a walk, attending a birthday feast. What could he say?"
The reason Xin He insists to go is not only because of the Sun Family’s ill intentions towards Huamanlou. The sudden appearance of the Great Prince in Lian’an Town made her more convinced that Song Family is a deep pool. She needs to investigate.
