The Flute Demon Incident (Part 2)

The Flute Demon Incident (Part 2)

Chu Caiwu gritted her teeth, blood flowing continuously from her back. She held her breath and the whip paused for a moment, followed by another wave of severe pain over a large area, and her body trembled.

Chu Caiwu didn't care about pain. When she was in the fairy world, she had her blood drawn by the fairy leader every day, and she was used to it.

But - Chu Caiwu is now in excruciating pain.

She is the fennel spirit, she is a demon. There are so many stories about demons and monsters circulating in the world. Mortals are afraid of demons and try to avoid them.

However, she was beaten back and forth by mortals, and did not become the free salted fish she had imagined. Instead, she was treated as a fish on the chopping board.

Chu Caiwu does not have the unparalleled beauty of a fox demon, so she cannot bear the offerings of mortal women; nor is she as fierce as a demon or ghost, so that people cannot retreat away from her.

Can't reach the high level, can't settle for the low level.

When Chu Caiwu was beaten by mortals, he had no way to fight back, nor could he scare them away by relying on his identity as a demon.

Chu Caiwu was holding on with all her might in her chest. She hated herself for being so useless. The more she thought about it, the more she lost her strength. The breath she was holding on to was completely gone. Her body was slightly hunched and she was about to collapse.

Chu Caiwu's body was becoming more and more bent, and she couldn't convince herself to stand up straight. It felt like when she tried her best to clench her fists to grasp something, but all her strength was drained away.

Chu Caiwu's small body fell forward little by little, and was suddenly embraced by a cold feeling. Her body trembled violently, and something cold and hard embedded in the bloody wound on her back.

The whip suddenly stopped lashing.

The man screamed loudly and ran away, "Ghost! Ghost! Aa ...

With a "bang", the man seemed to have hit the glass and stopped screaming.

Chu Caiwu woke up in shock and looked up. Ghost?

Sure enough, even ghosts are more intimidating than Chu Caiwu. This fennel essence has a better deterrent effect.

Chu Caiwu noticed that Feng Di's eyes were empty. Feng Di hugged her in reverse. Feng Di's eyes looked as if she had been possessed by a ghost and had lost her soul...

Chu Caiwu's back was getting more and more painful, like cold white bones being embedded into her flesh inch by inch. She struggled backward, trying to escape Feng Di's embrace.

Chu Caiwu twisted and rubbed left and right, and finally broke free from Feng Di, but suddenly he had difficulty breathing and could not catch his breath for a long time. The feeling of suffocation became more and more severe.

Chu Caiwu couldn't move his neck, so he could only lower his eyes to look, and saw that the extremely long nails were... growing. The ten nails grew longer and longer, crossing each other, strangling his throat, pinching tighter and tighter.

Chu Caiwu's head was getting bigger and bigger. She couldn't breathe and her heart was beating faster and faster.

Chu Caiwu's face turned red. She didn't want to be strangled to death, so she tried her best to look up at Feng Di, and happened to meet Feng Di's eyes again.

Chu Caiwu shuddered all over, and Feng Di's eye sockets were almost cracked. She looked like a wolf staring at a fat lamb, with a ferocious face, waiting for a feast.

"Don't you want to save your brother?" A condescending voice came from a distance. It was a man.

The strength in Feng Di's hands suddenly weakened, and Chu Caiwu took a breath in an instant, but suddenly his throat was tightly pinched again.

The voice just now was very familiar. Chu Caiwu was dizzy and dazed from being pinched. She couldn't remember who the voice belonged to. Could it be Yin Zhuo?

Chu Caiwu's heartbeat quickened as she suffocated. Every time she made a mistake or got into trouble, Yin Zhuo was there to cover for her.

Suddenly, a tall and burly figure walked towards him. Chu Caiwu saw that everything around him was dark, but he could make out the general outline. The man was burly and must be Chi Ce, not Yin Zhuo.

Although she hesitated for a moment, Chu Caiwu didn't care whether that person was Yin Zhuo or not. She twisted her neck and couldn't shout a word for a long time: "Help..."

As soon as he uttered a few words, Chu Caiwu began to retch repeatedly.

Chi Ce stopped talking nonsense and looked down at Feng Di condescendingly.

Finally, Chu Caiwu gasped for breath, and Feng Di stopped strangling her neck.

Chu Caiwu was out of breath. She hurriedly ran behind Chi Ce and touched her neck. It was wet and bleeding, and there were uneven nail marks all over it.

Chu Caiwu said in a low voice, aggrieved: "I said before, I said before that Feng Di is very strange."

Chu Caiwu was ignored.

Chu Caiwu had always felt that Feng Di was inexplicably weird. This time, in order to save Feng Di, she was almost strangled to death by Feng Di. Now that she was able to keep her life, she was already very happy.

Chi Ce looked at Feng Di and said, "It's a good thing you stopped early. If you had killed Fennel Essence, I wouldn't mind letting you die again."

Chu Caiwu widened her eyes and looked up at Chi Ce. Chi Ce actually protected her so much.

What Chi Ce said was to let Feng Di... die again?

Chu Caiwu couldn't figure it out. Could it be that Feng Di had already died?

Feng Di licked the blood on her hands with unsatisfied look.

Chi Ce was extremely serious: "If you had strangled Chu Caiwu to death just now, who would have lured the flute demon?"

Chu Caiwu: Let me be the bait? The words were already on the tip of his tongue, but he swallowed them back, not daring to resist.

Chu Caiwu felt a little disappointed and took a few steps back unconsciously.

It turned out that Chi Ce wanted to use her as bait, letting her take risks to lure the flute demon.

Chu Caiwu sighed lightly. As expected, there is no free lunch in the world. She was rescued by Chi Ce because she could be used as bait.

If Chu Caiwu is of no use, then wouldn't she be doomed to die?

Chu Caiwu shuddered inwardly, her mouth bitter. She had thought being a salted fish was liberating, free and unfettered. But if she didn't have any cultivation, she would be nothing more than a salted fish, traded and manipulated by anyone.

Chu Caiwu really wanted to stay by Yin Zhuo's side and absorb the immortal blood without any worries.

Feng Di sobbed and sobbed, and the nails on her ten fingers gradually shrank and returned to their normal appearance.

Chu Caiwu stared at Feng Di vigilantly like an alert rabbit. Feng Di's eyes showed some expression and were no longer empty.

Chu Caiwu noticed that Feng Di was about to walk towards her, so she quickly stepped back. She had nowhere to hide and could only hide behind Chi Ce.

Chu Caiwu knew that Chi Ce was unreliable, and Chu Caiwu couldn't trust him now.

Even behind the shoulder, he always remained extremely vigilant.

Chu Caiwu stood alone behind Chi Ce's shoulder, glancing at Feng Di quietly.

Suddenly, there was a plop, and Feng Di knelt at the edge of Chu Caiwu's skirt, crying, "I am no longer a living person. Your blood is truly special. We, ghosts of low cultivation, cannot control ourselves after being touched by it. I beg you for mercy."

Chu Caiwu shook his head in fear: "You are not a living person? Mercy?" After throwing out a few words, Chu Caiwu hurriedly hid behind Chi Ce.

Chu Caiwu's green silk skirt was basically beaten into pieces by the man.

Chu Caiwu clenched a piece of cloth and twisted it repeatedly in her hand. She had just been whipped so many times in order to save Feng Di, and she was almost strangled to death by Feng Di.

Because of the little bit of pity in her heart, Chu Caiwu tried to save Feng Di, but it turned out that her cultivation was not as high as Feng Di's. She couldn't even protect herself, so she was unworthy of being a demon.

Feng Di kneeled down and took a few steps forward, hurriedly explaining: "I, I tried to save my brother, but I was already dead."

Chu Caiwu was constantly being stared at by Feng Di. She felt very uncomfortable and could only perfunctorily say a few words: "What about your parents?"

Chi Ce continued, "Why are you exposing someone's weakness? Mortals favor boys over girls. Naming the elder sister Di is already biased. And you even mentioned her parents."

Feng Di laughed at herself, yet felt extremely regretful: "My name is Feng Di. It wasn't given by my parents, but I changed it myself."

She named herself Feng Di? How strange.

Chu Caiwu was dumbfounded, and suddenly she thought of Chi Ce, who had just accused her of "exposing someone's sore spot". She felt annoyed. Feng Di almost strangled herself to death. She was already giving Feng Di a perfunctory response, which was a great favor to her.

Chu Caiwu was silent for a long time, and suddenly a big hand rubbed his head. The fire in Chu Caiwu's heart burned even more. Gou Chi Ce.

Chi Ce rubbed her while saying, "We'll go to the mayor's banquet later. If you act like the goblin I caught, I'll give you four roast duck legs." He had finished speaking without any tone of negotiation.

Chu Caiwu held down the big hand, holding her hair, and swung it down suddenly: "Don't touch me!"

This time, Chi Ce held back his retort and stood there in a daze. After a while, he asked, "Don't you want to act?"

Chu Caiwu bit her lip and said anxiously, "Tell me! When will Yin Zhuo be able to come back?"

Feng Di looked at the two men on the verge of a fight and advised, "It doesn't matter if Miss Chu doesn't perform. Dingbei Town hasn't had a Taoist priest for many years. If Chi Ce goes to see the mayor, he will definitely be treated as a guest of honor."

Chi Ce ignored Feng Di, neither looking at her nor listening.

Chi Ce's voice rose a few degrees: "I thought you were something wrong, but you're thinking about that pretty boy?"

Chu Caiwu rolled his eyes.

If he doesn't miss Yin Zhuo, does that mean he misses you, and then you used him as bait?

Chi Ce spoke loudly and confidently: "I tell you, Yin Zhuo might have died a long time ago, exhausted from spiritual power."

Chu Caiwu's heart skipped a beat and he bit his lip. The sweet and fishy taste of blood filled his mouth.

Chu Caiwu had absorbed a lot of Yin Zhuo's spiritual power before. If Yin Zhuo really died of exhausted spiritual power, then she herself would... become... the culprit who killed Yin Zhuo.

Chu Caiwu swallowed the fishy sweetness in his mouth and said stubbornly, "I don't believe he's dead. Give me the sound transmission talisman. I want to ask him myself."

Chi Ce approached and asked, "Are you worried?"

Chu Caiwu turned his head to avoid Chi Ce's direct gaze, and just happened to see: an unconscious man lying on the ground.

It was the bad man who whipped her.

Seeing that the bad man was wearing a thick coat, Chu Caiwu realized that it was winter here. Even though she was wearing less, she had never felt the unbearable cold.

Chu Caiwu was lost in thought. If Yin Zhuo were here, he would definitely be afraid of the cold. She had to prepare a coat for him so that he wouldn't catch a cold and become weaker.

Chi Ce seemed even more interested: "Hey!"

Chu Caiwu suppressed his dissatisfaction and said, "I will play the goblin you caught."

Chi Ce said cheerfully: "Okay, that's very straightforward!"

Chu Caiwu negotiated a condition: "After this is done, you must send me a musical note and a man's jacket."

Chi Ce stopped teasing, his face turned pale, he clenched his fists tightly, and gritted his teeth: "What's so good about him?"
