No one expected Qin Yuchuan to take action directly.
He was so strong that Song Nuan was almost thrown out of the air. She only managed to regain her balance after bumping into Song Ningxue, which provided some resistance.
Song Ningxue, however, was not so lucky.
She fell to the ground, hitting the back of her head with a loud thud. Just from the sound, you could tell it was a hard impact; even if there was no bleeding, she would have gotten a big bump.
Song Ningxue whimpered in anguish, "Brother Chuan—"
Qin Yuchuan snapped out of his daze and hurriedly helped her up. "Xue'er, are you alright?"
As soon as he let go, Song Nuan walked back to Lu Ziyang's side. Looking at the two of them, she felt like laughing.
Lu Ziyang patted the spot where Qin Yuchuan had touched him with disdain, and looked somewhat annoyed at her half-smile.
"He pushed me, and you actually laughed?" He pointed at Qin Yuchuan, openly complaining, as if he wanted Song Nuan to give him an explanation, his tone full of grievance.
Qin Yuchuan wanted nothing more than to go up and punch him.
"No wonder he's a male model from a club; his mouth reeks of green tea." Qin Yuchuan sneered, glaring at him.
“Lu Ziyang, Song Nuan is my wife. She’s just playing with you and she doesn’t like you. If you know what’s good for you, leave her as soon as possible and don’t even think about her. Otherwise, once I get the evidence, I’ll sue her immediately and get back all the money and benefits Song Nuan has given you.”
He held Song Ningxue in his arms, her face pale, her fingertips clenched so tightly they turned white.
Lu Ziyang took in her reaction, and, not wanting to miss out on the fun, said, "Young Master Qin, your little lover doesn't seem too happy to hear that."
He smirked, "The man you went to so much trouble to seduce is now protecting his original wife. He didn't care about your life or death in order to take Song Nuan away from me, causing you to get pregnant and fall. Don't you hate him to death now?"
He ignored Qin Yuchuan's words and instead attacked Song Ningxue.
This immediately put Qin Yuchuan in a dilemma.
He glanced at Song Nuan, then at Song Ningxue, his expression complex, a thousand emotions flashing in his eyes.
At this moment, Song Ningxue suddenly spoke up: "It's not Brother Chuan's fault."
Qin Yuchuan looked at her, and for some reason, he felt a sense of relief.
"I clearly dodged it then. If my sister hadn't pushed me, I wouldn't have fallen." Song Ningxue said softly, glancing cautiously at Song Nuan. Her voice grew softer and softer, as if she was afraid of being retaliated against.
Song Nuan laughed.
She was carrying a bag in one hand, and Qin Yuchuan was holding her hand tightly with the other. Where would a third hand come from to push her?
"Why didn't you fall and die?"
Qin Yuchuan, unable to bear it any longer, shouted, "Song Nuan! Don't be so vicious!"
Song Nuan rolled her eyes at him, not wanting to waste her breath arguing with him, and got into the passenger seat.
After saying, "Young Master Qin, you'd better take care of yourself," Lu Ziyang drove away with Song Nuan.
The dust kicked up made Song Ningxue cough repeatedly.
Qin Yuchuan seemed to have lost his mind, his gaze fixed on the direction where Song Nuan's car had disappeared, even though it was no longer in sight.
Song Ningxue coughed too hard, "Brother Chuan, my stomach hurts..."
Qin Yuchuan snapped out of his daze and took Song Ningxue to the hospital.
After the doctor examined her and said she was fine, Song Ningxue became very nervous and insisted on having further examinations.
The doctor explained helplessly, "Ms. Song, you are now quite far along in your pregnancy, and the fetus is in a very stable condition. Don't be too nervous about minor bumps and bruises. Maintaining a happy mood is better for the fetus."
Upon hearing this, Song Ningxue immediately flew into a rage, "How could it be nothing? What do you mean by 'minor bumps and bruises'? I fell like this, and you call it minor bumps and bruises? Do you have any medical ethics?"
The doctors were in a terrible predicament.
"That's enough, Ningxue." Qin Yuchuan stopped her and waved for the doctor to leave.
He said, "Don't overthink it."
A look of surprise flashed across Song Ningxue's eyes.
She didn't actually have any uncomfortable symptoms; she was just resentful of what Qin Yuchuan had done in the garage and wanted to make a scene to make him feel guilty and remorseful. But he remained unmoved.
Song Ningxue's nose tingled, her eyes filled with tears, and she looked at him sadly, "Brother Chuan, don't you care about whether I and the baby live or die?"
Qin Yuchuan felt inexplicably irritated. "No."
In fact, he knew that under those circumstances, Song Nuan would never have pushed Song Ningxue.
But when Song Ningxue offered him a way out, he still took it.
He chose to blame Song Nuan, shifting the blame for the harm caused to Song Ningxue by his indecisiveness onto Song Nuan.
Is Song Ningxue throwing a tantrum because she's blaming him?
Just then, his phone rang, interrupting Qin Yuchuan's thoughts. He answered it, listened for a moment, said "hmm," and then hung up.
He looked at Song Ningxue and said, "I have to go back to the company for a meeting. You should rest well and not overthink things. If you feel unwell, call the doctor. I'll come see you again after this busy period."
Once this busy period is over?
Song Ningxue caught another layer of his meaning: he wouldn't be coming anytime soon.
Absolutely not!
"Brother Chuan, the doctor said the fetus is stable, and I want to go back to work."
Song Ningxue seized the opportunity, "As you know, I studied design. If I can follow up on the Berlin Jewelry project, it will help me compete for the Song Group in the future."
"No," Qin Yuchuan refused.
Song Ningxue had no idea how to work with projects.
"Take good care of yourself during your pregnancy. After you give birth, I will naturally find a way to help you get the Song family business."
He was firm and gave Song Ningxue no chance to refute him.
After saying that, he left.
Song Ningxue gripped her sleeve tightly, her eyes filled with resentment.
Qin Group.
After learning that the project had been blocked, Qin Guangsheng was discharged from the hospital and returned to the company to take charge, waiting for Song Nuan and Qin Yuchuan to return and report back.
Unexpectedly, Qin Yuchuan ran off with Song Ningxue at this crucial moment.
Taking advantage of this lull, Qin Guangsheng directly hired Lu Ziyang as the project's temporary legal counsel and notified the shareholders, so that Lu Ziyang could keep track of the project's progress at any time without being too conspicuous.
When Qin Yuchuan arrived at the company and saw Lu Ziyang sitting in the conference room, his expression changed repeatedly.
He suppressed his anger. "Dad, this person isn't from our Qin family, is he?"
Lu Ziyang tapped the table with his finger bone, gesturing for him to look at the work ID displayed on it.
“Attorney Lu is the dedicated legal counsel for the Berlin project,” Qin Guangsheng explained. “This was requested by the Berlin Group to avoid disputes during the project period.”
Qin Yuchuan sat down with a dark face. He was just a legal professional.
The meeting lasted for two hours.
Most of the time was spent discussing which version of the plan to adopt: one was Song Nuan's, and the other was Qin Yuchuan's.
Unable to reach a conclusion, Qin Guangsheng turned the question to Lu Ziyang, "Attorney Lu, what do you think?"
Qin Yuchuan frowned upon seeing this. "President Qin, why do we even need to consult a legal department about the proposal now?"
Dissatisfaction then appeared on the faces of the others.
Qin Guangsheng's attitude towards this lawyer of dubious origin was far too kind.
"Instead of attacking me, Mr. Qin, you should first try to persuade others to agree to your plan."
Lu Ziyang flipped through the proposal; his casual gesture and glance inexplicably created a sense of oppression.
