Chapter 4 Please Keep It a Secret

Walking home with her military training uniform in her arms, Cong Nian looked at the tall figure walking in front of her and pinched her cheeks.

Is she really not dreaming?

Is she now living with someone who is "not easy to mess with"?!

It’s a headache just thinking about it!

"Follow Brother! Follow Brother!"

"Why don't you wait for your brothers to leave together today!"

"You've gone to No. 1 Middle School and you've forgotten your brothers? That's too disloyal!"

Several boys passed by Cong Nian and gathered in front of He Sui, cheering.

Shi Yi was quick-witted and saw a little girl following them from a distance. Gossip made him move closer to He Sui, and he pointed behind him and asked:

"Brother Sui, who is that person behind you?"

Several boys suddenly sighed.

"Oh! Shi Yi, do you even need to ask? I'm not surprised. I guess this is another suitor of our Sui Ge."

A tall and thin boy bumped into He Sui's shoulder and winked.

"Yeah, Brother Sui."

"Young girls nowadays are quite persistent. They've even become grass protectors. They look pretty pretty. Brother Sui, would you like to consider it?"

Before He Sui could answer, a chubby boy next to him spoke up:

"Hahahahahahaha, when can I have this treatment?"

"You? You have a big, chubby face and you still want to be chased by a little girl? You're lucky you didn't scare her away."

Shi Yi's eyes lingered between Cong Nian and He Sui, the fire of gossip burning fiercely.

The few of them were talking and laughing loudly, as if they didn't regard Cong Nian as an outsider at all.

Cong Nian lowered his head, trying to reduce his presence and create a sense of "I'm just passing by".

In her heart, she prayed over and over again that He Sui would not reveal the fact that they lived together.

Otherwise, given how gossipy these people are, it will be known to the whole school tomorrow.

"Is your skin itchy?"

He Sui punched Shi Yi on the head as he kept looking back at Cong Nian. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Cong Nian turn into the ice cream shop next door.

"I dare not, I dare not."

Shi Yi held his head and begged for mercy, but when he turned around, the little girl was gone.

Could it be that he really misunderstood?

"How can a grown man be such a gossip?"

He Sui's eyes were full of disgust, and he quickened his pace as he rolled his eyes.

"Tsk tsk tsk, did you hear that? We'll follow me and call you a gossip!"

"That's right! What a gossip!"

The two people next to him followed suit, leaving Shi Yi standing there with a puzzled look on his face.

"Hey, you guys! Don't go too far!"

Shi Yi took a step forward to catch up, and the figures of several people were getting farther and farther away.

Cong Nian then walked out of the ice cream shop, looked at the backs of the few people, and sighed deeply.

I walked back slowly and the fifteen-minute journey ended up taking an hour.

When Cong Nian got home, she heard Lin Shuangshuang holding dishes and getting angry at He Sui who was sitting on the sofa playing with his mobile phone.

"He Sui, you're a tall guy, over 1.8 meters tall. Have you been eating for nothing all these years? How come you don't even take care of the little girl?"

"You left him alone on the street? If Aunt Xu knew about this, how would Mom explain it to her?"

Aunt Xu, also known as Xu Yuan, is Cong Nian’s workaholic mother.

"The school is not far from home. Something must have happened since you haven't come back for so long. Go out and find it now!"

"Don't come back if you can't find you!"

Lin Shuangshuang put the dish on the table with a bang.

Just as He Sui was about to continue muttering to himself that he was unshakable and go out, he turned around and saw Cong Nian standing at the door, one foot dangling in the air as she changed into slippers.

The next second, a smile appeared on his face and he breathed a sigh of relief.

"Oh Nian Nian, you're finally back. Auntie was so worried."

Lin Shuangshuang walked to the door, wiped her hands on her apron, and snatched Cong Nian's schoolbag.

"Are you exhausted? It's all He Sui's fault. Auntie will scold him for you!"

"It's okay, Aunt Lin, He will let him do whatever he wants..."

Cong Nian waved her hand, and when she saw He Sui, who was sitting on the sofa, looking at her dangerously, she smiled and changed her words.

"Very, very good..."

Lin Shuangshuang looked at Cong Nian with a smile, and the more she looked, the happier she became.

Why didn’t she give birth to such a well-behaved and lovely girl!

She gets angry when she thinks of her little ancestor who is young but has a bad temper!

"Go and help Nian Nian take her schoolbag upstairs, then come down to wash your hands and eat."

Lin Shuangshuang stuffed Cong Nian's schoolbag into He Sui's arm and pushed his shoulders to make him stand up.

He Sui rubbed his temples, stood up and walked upstairs.

Cong Nian followed, but stopped at the door and paced back and forth.

When He Sui walked out with his hands in his pockets, he saw her hesitant to speak.

"What's up?"

Hearing the voice, Cong Nian turned around and met He Sui's eyes.

"Um... could you please not tell anyone that we... live together?"

He Sui raised his eyebrows, as if he had heard a joke, and slowly approached.

Cong Nian backed away until his waist reached the guardrail before continuing:

"If others find out, it will always cause unnecessary misunderstandings, right?"

The sound gradually subsided, and He Sui's knee had already touched hers.
