"Wait, brother, we're not finished yet! Meng asked me about your job and said it's a waste of your talent to work at the movie theater, so he's arranged for you to work in the transportation team!"
Du Qiang knew Qin Yu would really hang up, so he quickly finished speaking.

Qin Yu recalled how he and Xia Lan had almost been attacked by thugs. He initially thought it was Li Ming who did it, but Ma Tao's expression now made him realize that things might not be so simple.
"Did you send someone to ambush me in the alley?" Qin Yu narrowed his eyes slightly as he looked at Ma Tao.
"No, it wasn't me, it wasn't me." Ma Tao quickly shook his head. "Why would I let someone ambush you! I have no grudge against you. The one who wanted to ambush you was Li Ming."
"Li Ming? Are you sure?" Qin Yu's lips curled into a smile as he looked at Ma Tao, carefully observing his micro-expressions.
Ma Tao guiltily avoided Qin Yu's gaze, causing Qin Yu to purse his lips slightly.
"It's Li Ming! I heard him say he'd teach you a lesson! You stole his job." Ma Tao, as if turning against a family member, reported Li Ming.
"Ma Tao!" Zhang Li walked over in disbelief upon hearing Ma Tao's words.
"How could you say that about Li Ming..."
"I'm not wrong, why are you still protecting him?" Ma Tao was instantly displeased when he saw Zhang Li come over to defend Li Ming.

Seeing that they were starting to veer off-topic and talking about their personal relationship, Qin Yu calmly returned to his seat and watched as Ma Tao grabbed Zhang Li and led her away to find Li Ming to clear things up.
"Kid, where have you been lately?" An elderly hand landed on Qin Yu's shoulder. Qin Yu turned around and saw it was Old Bai. A smile appeared on his lips.
"Bailao."
"I already told you to just call me Lao Bai," Lao Bai said with a smile.
"You still haven't told me! Where did you go?"
Qin Yu briefly explained the incident, and Lao Bai nodded in satisfaction. "You're a lucky guy."
"This is considered a blessing?" Qin Yu paused. He didn't even have a family, so this was considered a blessing?
"You brat, do you even know what it means for fortune and misfortune to be intertwined, for bad luck to turn into good luck?" Old Bai glanced at Qin Yu. "Some things, if you lose them, may not necessarily be a bad thing."
"Old Bai, what you're saying is just like what Old Du said," Qin Yu said slowly.
Old Du had said the same thing to him, and the meaning was similar.
"Du?" Old Bai narrowed his eyes. "What's his name?"
"He wouldn't tell me, he only said his surname was Du and that he was sent down to our village," Qin Yu replied, seeing how agitated Lao Bai was.
"I wonder if it's my old buddy." Old Bai thought for a moment, and his eyes gradually dimmed.
"Old Bai?" Qin Yu looked at Old Bai, and Old Bai also looked at Qin Yu.
After a long silence, Old Bai finally spoke slowly. "I'll tell you next time! This isn't the place to talk."
"Okay." Qin Yu nodded.
"Look at this, these are young people nowadays, their relationships are all messed up!" Lao Bai gestured for Qin Yu to look at Ma Tao and Zhang Li.
Zhang Li was being relentlessly interrogated by Ma Tao, who was clearly pushing her to the brink. Ma Tao insisted that she make a choice: if she chose him, she should break up with Li Ming right now and make things clear.
Ma Tao certainly didn't want to be cuckolded.
"Ma Tao, what are you doing!" Li Ming walked out of the office and heard a commotion outside. When he came out, he saw that Ma Tao was pulling Zhang Li along.
Without saying a word, Li Ming rushed up and punched Ma Tao.
Ma Tao was knocked down, and his anger flared up.
"You coward, how dare you hit me!" Ma Tao gritted his teeth, got up from the ground, and rushed towards Li Ming.
Ma Tao was tall and strong, while Li Ming was thin and weak. He was no match for Ma Tao and was hit hard twice by Ma Tao.
Zhang Li tried to pull him away but couldn't. Seeing Qin Yu and Lao Bai watching the scene calmly, she subconsciously ignored Lao Bai and ran towards Qin Yu.
"Comrade Qin Yu, please help me separate them!" Zhang Li looked like a pear blossom in the rain; any ordinary man would have rushed forward for the sake of such a beauty.
Qin Yu, however, was immune to such beauties and spoke calmly to Zhang Li.
"The game is almost over, there's no need to pull it off."
No sooner had Qin Yu finished speaking than Li Ming was punched hard by Ma Tao and knocked to the ground.
Ma Tao stepped on Li Ming's back and sneered.
"What makes you so arrogant? I was just looking for you! Since you're here, I'll tell you the truth: Zhang Li wants to break up with you because she's already my fiancée."
"Impossible!" Li Ming didn't believe a word of it. "How could Zhang Li possibly like a roughneck like you?"
"If you don't believe me, ask Zhang Li yourself! See what she says." Ma Tao looked at Zhang Li, whose face was pale.
Zhang Li was caught in a dilemma: on one side was her fiancé, whom she had agreed to marry, and on the other side was her former lover.
“Zhang Li, I advise you to think carefully before you speak!” Ma Tao threatened.
"Lili, did Ma Tao force you? Did he bully you? Don't be afraid, I will definitely get justice for you!" Li Ming felt that Zhang Li must have been threatened by Ma Tao.
"Li Ming, let's break up! We're not right for each other." Sensing Ma Tao's anger, Zhang Li gritted her teeth and broke up with Li Ming.
"What did you say?" Li Ming asked in disbelief.
“I told you, we’re breaking up. I’m already Ma Tao’s fiancée. There’s no future for us. You couldn’t get the job I asked you to apply for. My family has already agreed to be with Ma Tao. I’m already his fiancée.”
Zhang Li wiped away her tears and said to Li Ming.
Old Bai glanced at Zhang Li and whispered in Qin Yu's ear, "Look, this is a woman's trick. She clearly chose Ma Tao herself, but now she's making it sound like she was forced into it."
