Chapter 169 The Trouble-Maker, Xia Lan Who Won't Let Things Go

“But…” Xia Lan looked at the woman with a pale face, pursed her lips, clearly worried that she would be blamed.

"There's no 'buts' about it. This is your spot, and you have trouble moving around, so why should I make you climb up and down?"

"Yes, yes, just leave her alone. Let her find a flight attendant to change her seat. There are plenty of empty seats over there!"

"that is……"

Everyone changed their tune.

"Ma'am, let me call a flight attendant for you!"

Sudan realized what was happening and immediately ran to find the flight attendant.

The woman realized that those who had just helped her were now on Xia Lan's side, so she suppressed her temper and had no choice but to compromise.

"Oh well……"

"I don't want it! I want her seat! She has milk candy in her bag! Mom, tell her to give me the milk candy! I want milk candy!"

The woman's son, however, refused to accept this and released her hand to grab Xia Lan.

The eldest sister in front of Xia Lan immediately grabbed the boy and frowned.

"Those are her things, how can you be so insensible?"

"Quickly control your son. How could he bully a woman?"

The older sister looked at the woman, who quickly pulled her son back and hugged him.

"Dabao, are you alright? Are you hurt?"

“My child is still young, what does he know! It’s normal for him to want candy, just give him one, why are you scolding my son?”

The woman's doting attitude towards her son displeased everyone.

Milk candy is expensive no matter where you are. This woman was just saying she had no money, but in the blink of an eye she said her son wanted milk candy and asked someone to give her some.

"It's just a piece of candy, what's the big deal!"

The woman disagreed.

“My son wants to eat it, so I’ll save up money to buy it for him no matter how hard it is.”

The woman's self-righteous statement completely ruined everyone's mood.

Her patriarchal expression was truly speechless.

Although most people still prefer sons to daughters, it doesn't go to the point where people insist on fulfilling all their son's needs even when they don't have the means.

"Oh, I'm sorry, my candy was specially prepared for me by my partner, and I don't want to give it to him."

Xia Lan glanced at the woman and smiled at her son.

Qin Yu prepared a lot for her, but she just didn't want to give it to him.

"City people are so stingy." With that one sentence, the woman successfully offended the 'city people'.

"The problem is with you, woman! This belongs to someone else, why aren't you giving it to your son? Are you being stingy?"

"Yeah, what do you mean by that? You're saying not sharing makes you stingy? Then why don't you ever share?"

"Your eyes are constantly glued to that woman's purse. Why do city people have to be so generous? We earn our money through hard work too!"

Xia Lan watched as the woman successfully offended everyone, then calmly huddled in her bunk, watching as the woman was criticized by everyone.

"...What's all this noise?" Sudan actually called over the flight attendant.

The flight attendant heard the commotion as soon as she arrived, so she pushed through the crowd and asked what had happened.

"Hello comrade, this is what happened! This is my sleeper berth, but this lady has her son with her and said it's inconvenient for her to go up, so she insisted that I switch places with her. I have difficulty walking, so I didn't agree, and then she said I was being inconsiderate..."

Xia Lan spoke up in time to explain.

“My friend recommended that she move to another empty lower bunk, but she refused. Then her child saw that I had milk candy in my bag and insisted that I give it to him. People couldn’t stand it and spoke up for her…”

Xia Lan's words made the flight attendant's expression darken as she looked at the woman. The people around her smiled and glanced at Xia Lan, thanking her for removing them.

After all, they had just tried to help the woman.

"What's wrong with you, comrade? It's inconvenient for you with your child, but does it make things easier for other women? You sleep in the place you've reserved. If you want to change to a lower bunk, you have to pay extra. There are empty bunks in front of you, just one yuan more."

The flight attendant looked at the woman, who gritted her teeth. "I...I have no money left."

"If you don't have money, then sleep in your upper bunk. You don't deserve to be asked to switch seats with a female colleague," the flight attendant said earnestly.

“Every sleeper ticket is bought with people’s money. If someone agrees to exchange with you, it’s out of sympathy, not because they have to!”

"I...I'll just stay in the top bunk."

The woman was scolded by the flight attendant and wanted someone to help her, but she had just ruined her reputation, and everyone had left; no one was willing to help her.

"Then stop making a scene." The flight attendant glanced at the woman and said coldly.

The woman, feeling wronged, carried her son up to the top, then climbed up herself.

Seeing that she could clearly climb up, everyone felt they had been used by her and wanted to ignore her even more.

The flight attendant approached Xia Lan, her face, which had been cold just moments before, immediately replaced with a warm and friendly smile when she faced her.

"Lady, if you need anything, feel free to come to me anytime!"

"Thank you, I can take care of myself," Xia Lan replied with a smile to the flight attendant.

After the flight attendant left reassured, Sudan sat down next to Xia Lan.

Are you alright?

"fine."

Xia Lan noticed the worry in Sudan's eyes, her gaze frequently drifting to Sudan's legs.

"Thank you."

"Don't be so polite. Don't move around too much. If you're not feeling well, just call me and I'll help you."

The Sultan grasped Xia Lan's hand, surprised to learn that her legs were disabled. Feeling sorry for Xia Lan, the Sultan decided to be her helper along the way.

Xia Lan wanted to tell the Sultan that she was not disabled, but had just been acting on purpose. However, the Sultan did not listen to Xia Lan's explanation at all, picked up the water glass that Xia Lan had finished drinking from, and went to pour her more water.

"I'll get you some water, don't move."

Xia Lan couldn't stop him and could only watch helplessly as Sultan ran away.

When Sudan returned from fetching water, Xia Lan quickly grabbed her.

"Don't bother, my leg is fine. I just said that on purpose," Xia Lan whispered in Sudan's ear.

Sudan stared wide-eyed at Xia Lan's legs, then relaxed immediately.

"That's great, you scared me to death!" Sudan laughed, relieved to see that Xia Lan was alright.

"Aren't you angry that I lied to you?" Xia Lan asked with a smile, seeing Sudan's relieved expression.

"Why blame you? It's because she went too far. She just wanted to bully you and take your place. You shouldn't have given it to her."

Sudan snorted. She could tell that the woman had deliberately targeted Xia Lan because she thought Xia Lan looked easy to bully.

"There's a married couple opposite you, she wouldn't dare, she deliberately switched places with you!"

From her bunk, Sudan could see everything clearly: the woman opposite her had been eyeing Xia Lan for a long time, wanting to take her place.
