Ma Sheng truthfully stated that they did not have the courage or the guts to do so.
Xia Lan was the first person to appreciate them so much, and she gave Ma Sheng and the others a chance to be like normal people; she gave them dignity.
She didn't know how important this was to them.
How long has it been since she was treated normally? Her gaze was as if they were all normal people, without any disdain or avoidance.
Just like before, there's no need to care about what others think.
Although Ma Sheng and the others didn't say it aloud, their gratitude towards Xia Lan was beyond words.
"Alright then! I'll take this risk for you!"
Xia Lan believed they could definitely do it, and she would set an example for them.
"Really, thank you so much!"
Ma Sheng and the others looked at Xia Lan with gratitude. Although they didn't know what the future held, they were all grateful for Xia Lan's help.
Even if they fail in the end, they will never complain.
To repay Xia Lan, they worked even harder.
Xia Lan watched them work until nine o'clock every day, which was clearly beyond their workload.

After Ma Sheng and his team renovated the department store, it was like a completely different place. Several wooden frames were placed on the wall at the entrance, and once you entered, you were greeted by a very spacious and bright space.
"The goods haven't been put on display yet, but it will be even better once they are."
Xia Lan introduced Xiao Guoqiang with a smile.
"Girl, you only have a few counters, what about the rest of your things? Aren't you afraid someone will take them if you just leave them like this?"
Xiao Guoqiang looked at the shelves where people could choose what they wanted to buy. He said that reducing the number of counters would increase the space, but if the goods were just left on the shelves like that, wouldn't they be stolen?
"The items left outside are all large and can't be moved."
Xia Lan smiled, revealing her teeth.
"Small items are on the counter, while the expensive ones are locked in cabinets."
Xiao Guoqiang nodded, roughly understanding what Xia Lan meant.
Looking at the space, it's actually circular. There's a basket at the entrance for people to grab things, and then at the exit is the payment area.
As you exit, there are two other areas next to it, covered with hooks and railings, which look like clothing sales areas.
"Are they setting up a clothing store here?"
Xiao Guoqiang asked.
"Nothing escapes Grandpa's discerning eye!"
Xia Lan did not deny it; instead, she praised it.
Xiao Guoqiang gave a smug snort; it was clear that Xia Lan had put a lot of thought into it.
"This renovation is great. Where did you find the people? Their skills are really good."
Looking at the overall layout and then at the craftsmanship in the details, Xiao Guoqiang thought that the skill and craftsmanship were no less than those of the masters in Beijing.
"Qin Yu asked Du Qiang to bring him to me. He's a disabled veteran with exceptional skills, but... he has some physical disabilities."
Xia Lan glanced at Xiao Guoqiang and sighed.
"It's really a pity."
Xiao Guoqiang also felt it was a pity; with such good skills, if he had been able to complete his craft, he would definitely have achieved great things.
"I'm going to help them out. I'll help them get any renovation work in the future."

Xiao Guoqiang nodded in satisfaction.
"Lanlan!"
Xiaoling and the others arrived at the store and were all astonished to see the completely transformed department store.
"My God! How come I didn't know our place was this big?"
"Yeah, it used to be just a narrow passageway with counters on both sides, but now it's become so big..."

"But why are there so few counters?"
Xia Lan walked over with a smile.
"Xiaoling, this is a diagram showing the placement of the goods. Please arrange for them to put everything on the counter."
Xiaoling nodded.
"OK!"
"Alright, stop making a fuss and get to work. We need to arrange the goods properly today."
Xiaoling's execution ability is beyond question. She clapped her hands, attracting the attention of Xu Li and the others, and immediately assigned them what to do.
Xiao Guoqiang glanced at Xiao Ling and then said to Xia Lan.
"This comrade is not bad."
"Right? She's my right-hand woman!"

Xiao Guoqiang nodded in satisfaction.
Seeing that it was almost time, Xiao Yuqin took Xiao Guoqiang, Tuantuan, and Yuanyuan home.
Xia Lan stayed behind to help them sort the goods.
Before long, Ma Sheng and the others also came over to help.
Du Qiang also came over with a few young men.
"Sister-in-law, am I not late?"
When Du Qiang heard Ma Sheng say that the renovations would be finished today, he brought his men over to help.
