Looking at Chu Xiaolan's hand, Chen's mother said happily.
"Mom! Didn't you say not to tell anyone before it's been three months?"
Chen Hua glanced at his mother speechlessly. Was she really that hypocritical?

Chen Hua rolled his eyes.
“Daughter-in-law, now that you have a child, you can’t go out alone anymore. Dad will go and buy you a new car so you can travel comfortably.”
Chen Hao said happily, wishing he could buy all the things for the child right now.
"Dad, I don't go out much, so there's no need for me to spend money..."
Chen Hao's extravagance startled Chu Xiaolan, who also disliked going out.

Chen's mother had no objections; they were overjoyed to finally have their grandson.

Fearing that Chu Xiaolan might overthink things, Chen's mother offered a special explanation.
She just wanted to be a grandma, to hear the little guy softly call her "Grandma".
She didn't have any concept of favoring sons over daughters; as long as they were descendants of the Chen family, she was fine with them.
