Chapter 77 Child Traffickers

“My child is fine, no need to go to the hospital! He can just go home and take a nap!” the woman said immediately.

Her voice was panicked and frightened, and her expression was not quite normal.

A normal person would be anxious upon hearing that their child is in trouble, but she was surprisingly not anxious at all and was even flustered.

There's a problem.

"Are you really this child's grandmother? Then let me ask you, how old is this child?" Xia Lan immediately looked at the woman, wanting to confirm the child's information with her.

“Three years old,” the woman said confidently.

"Boy or girl?"

"boy."

"What's your name?"

Xia Lan asked questions quickly and in great detail. The woman was initially able to keep up, but as the questions continued, she began to panic.

The woman paused on the name, hesitated for a moment, and then answered.

"Dog Egg".

What is the child's father's name?

Xia Lan asked again.

"Wu... Chen Jianguo".

"Is it Wu or Chen?"

Xia Lan clearly had no intention of letting her off the hook.

"List."

The woman was clearly panicked, but she still tried to remain calm.

What is the child's grandmother's name?

"The child's mother is calling..."

The woman clearly thought Xia Lan would ask what the child's mother's name was, but Xia Lan didn't follow the expected pattern and asked about the grandmother. The woman was stumped again.

"I was asking about Grandma."

"Liu... Liu Xiuyun."

"Is the child your grandson?" Xia Lan suddenly asked quickly.

"No." The woman, tense and alert, blurted out upon hearing Xia Lan's question.

"No, it's my grandson." Realizing she had let something slip, the woman tried to change her answer, but it was too late.

Everyone on the bus watched intently as Xia Lan and the woman exchanged questions one-on-one. Clearly, the woman's momentary lapse in judgment had been immediately caught by everyone.

"That child isn't hers," the old woman said angrily, standing up and pointing at the woman.

“She’s definitely a human trafficker!” The others stood up as well.

Upon seeing this, the driver immediately stopped the car.

The woman panicked when she saw that the driver had actually stopped the car.

Fearing he would be caught, he threw the child at Xia Lan and tried to jump out of the car window.

Xia Lan immediately stepped forward to catch the child, but she herself lost her balance and fell backward.

Qin Yu helped Xia Lan up, then grabbed the woman's clothes and pulled her back as she nearly jumped out of the car window.

Seeing this, the others immediately rushed over and helped Qin Yu grab the woman.

"Let me go! I'm not a human trafficker!" the woman cried out after being grabbed by the crowd.

No matter what she said, she didn't believe her.

"Tie her up! She's definitely done more than just this!" someone shouted angrily.

Xia Lan watched as the group had already pulled the woman aside and were interrogating her about her past, whether she had ever abducted other children, and where those children had been sold...

Seeing this, Xia Lan stopped looking at the woman and turned her attention to the child. After taking off the old clothes covering the child, Xia Lan confirmed her guess.

"Brother Yu, look, this child is definitely not from an ordinary family!" Xia Lan tugged at Qin Yu's clothes, showing him the clothes the child was wearing.

"Hmm." Qin Yu nodded; he too had noticed the unusual quality in the child.

After inspecting it, Qin Yu frowned.

"Brother Yu, what's wrong?" Xia Lan asked anxiously.

Qin Yu looks so serious, it's a little scary?

“He was given a bit too much medicine…” Qin Yu looked at Xia Lan and explained. “We need to take him to the hospital.”

"Don't worry, I'll drive straight to the hospital in a bit. You take the child to the hospital, and we'll hand this heartless man over to the police!" the ticket seller said to Qin Yu and Xia Lan after hearing their words.

"That's right, don't worry! We will definitely not let this person get away with it! Take the child to the hospital and save the child first."

"Yes, the child is more important."

"Don't let anything happen to the child!"

"These people are awful!"

"How heartbroken the child's mother must be!"

"Killing millions of people is truly a sin! Aren't they afraid of retribution?!"

Others chimed in.

The young driver pulled up to the hospital entrance, and Qin Yu picked up the child from Xia Lan's arms and together they took the child to the hospital.

The others took the woman to the police station, where, upon hearing that she was a human trafficker, the police immediately detained her.

Upon hearing that the child had been taken to the hospital first, the police immediately dispatched officers to the hospital.

Qin Yu and Xia Lan registered the child. The doctor gave the unconscious child an IV drip. Xia Lan and Qin Yu did not leave. When the IV drip was almost finished, the unconscious child finally showed signs of waking up.

Xia Lan and Qin Yu walked to the bedside and saw the child open his eyes with a blank expression, as if he was not yet awake.

Xiao Yan subconsciously began searching for familiar people, but couldn't find any of his relatives anywhere.

The child burst into tears.

"Mommy~ Waaah~"

Xia Lan looked at the child crying heartbrokenly, glanced helplessly at Qin Yu, and didn't know how to comfort him.

She could only awkwardly pat the child's back. The child looked up at Xia Lan, and Xia Lan smiled gently at the child.

Seemingly softened by Xia Lan's smile, the child slowly stopped crying and stared intently at Xia Lan.

"Hello, little friend. My name is Xia Lan and this is my husband, Qin Yu."

The child seemed to understand Xia Lan's words, but his big eyes continued to stare at her.

"Auntie, where's my mom?"

"Do you remember what happened?" Xia Lan asked, seeing that the child seemed to have a chance to communicate.
