"Oh my! You've even called Ziye? Looks like things are going well!"
Xia Lan saw that Wu Shishi seemed quite satisfied with Yang Ziye.
Wu Shishi's cheeks flushed slightly as she recalled Yang Ziye's wit and humor. Although some of his insights were unique, upon closer examination, they did indeed have some merit.
Wu Shishi was unconsciously attracted to him.
"Not bad...not bad."
Wu Shishi didn't hide anything from Xia Lan and nodded with a blush.
"Then give it a try!"
Xia Lan chuckled, nodded in satisfaction, and patted Wu Shishi's hand.
Wu Shishi nodded in agreement.
After handing Wu Shishi over to Yang Ziye, Xia Lan took Qin Yu and left.
A short while later, Yang Ziye caught up with them.
"Xia Lan, elder brother."
"What's wrong?"
Hearing Yang Ziye's voice, Xia Lan and Qin Yu turned around.
"This... is the key."
Yang Ziye tossed the keys to Xia Lan as a thank you for helping him; he had also mentioned that he would rent the place to Xia Lan.
"Okay, thanks."
Xia Lan nodded in satisfaction.
Yang Ziye ran towards Wu Shishi without stopping.
Wu Shishi was stunned for a moment, watching him run towards her, and the smile on her face grew deeper and deeper.
Xia Lan turned around and watched the two leave, chatting and laughing. She glanced at Qin Yu, who then tapped her nose.
Do you think they'll succeed?
Xia Lan looked at Qin Yu, curious about his opinion on Yang Ziye and Wu Shishi.
Qin Yu put his arm around Xia Lan and walked out, shaking his head.
"You don't think they have a good chance?"
Xia Lan was taken aback, thinking that Qin Yu felt the two of them were not a good match.
"The matter between them cannot be judged by us simply by saying whether it is suitable or not."
"Just like back then, they all thought we weren't a good match, and nobody in the village thought we were a good match either."
"Can it be summed up by simply saying 'suitable' or 'unsuitable'?"
Qin Yu chuckled and walked down the road, holding Xia Lan's hand.
People stared at them, thinking they were incredibly bold to be so intimate in the street.
Xia Lan and Qin Yu, however, disagreed.
"That's true."
Xia Lan also felt that it seemed a bit one-sided.
"This requires the effort of two people, just like my love for you, my heart is full of you."
"But if your heart isn't with me, then our outcome will be different."
Qin Yu looked at Xia Lan. He had also been troubled about what to do with Xia Lan after she woke up.
He didn't want a submissive wife.
What he was going to do meant that he would not be a person who stayed at home often, and in the eyes of ordinary people, it was even somewhat inconceivable and unconventional.
He had thought that Xia Lan would make a fuss, cry, or want to leave when she woke up.
But he never imagined that Xia Lan would wake up with a different soul.
Looking into those big, darting eyes, she seemed confused about her decision, but those bright, intelligent eyes were not something the timid Xia Lan possessed.
Qin Yu immediately developed a strong interest in her and wanted to keep her by his side.
Watching her cleverly confront the village women and prevent him from suffering any losses, Qin Yu felt that this was the wife that God had sent him.
They were destined to be a couple.
"That's true."
Xia Lan did not deny Qin Yu's words, and thought about the scene when they first met.
If it were the original owner, or if she hadn't chosen to stay at the time.
Her relationship with Qin Yu might not be what it is now.
The original owner did not like Qin Yu, and even though her background was tragic, the probability of her staying was not high.
Perhaps Qin Yu saw it back then, which is why he gave her the option.
Whether she stays or leaves, he will respect her decision.
But if she leaves...
Xia Lan looked up at Qin Yu.
"What's wrong?"
Qin Yu asked with a smile.
Xia Lan shook her head.
"nothing."
She was glad she had chosen to stay, believing that this man would bring her happiness.
Xia Lan held Qin Yu's hand tightly and gave him a sweet smile.
"If you keep looking at me like that, you won't be getting any sleep tonight."
Qin Yu's eyes darkened, a glint of malice flashing within them.
"We've arrived."
Xia Lan coughed and found Yang Ziye's shop.
The shop seems to have been there for a while, as it has accumulated a lot of dust.
"This location looks pretty good! Why isn't it open?"
Xia Lan asked the shopkeeper curiously, noting that regardless of its location or size, it seemed to be a good place.
Why has it been empty all this time?
Who are you?!
An elderly woman dressed in a traditional Chinese cheongsam walked over and questioned Xia Lan.
Am I the one who rents this shop?
Xia Lan looked at the old woman and blinked.
“Let me tell you, this shop can’t serve food, and the fumes can’t blow into my house! My wife has a cough and can’t stand the smell of cooking fumes.”
"Also, this shop can't be used..."
The old woman listed out one rule after another to Xia Lan, saying that this couldn't be done and that couldn't be eaten, leaving no room for refusal.
You can't make food, you can't make alcohol, you can't make hawking noises...
The sheer number of conditions made Xia Lan laugh.
"Mother-in-law, were you the one who persuaded all these people to leave?"
Xia Lan asked curiously.
"I didn't try to persuade them to leave; they wanted to leave on their own!"
The old woman said indifferently, giving Xia Lan a sidelong glance.
"Besides, you can do business, but you can't keep us from having peace."
The old woman pursed her lips, afraid that Xia Lan would be the kind of person who wouldn't listen to advice again.
"I'll just quietly sell clothes."
