"By the way, does Master Qian know any female teachers?" Ye Caiping asked.
"A female tutor?" Master Qian frowned. "What, you want to hire someone for your daughter?"
"Yes. Even if they can't participate in the scientific expedition, it's always good for them to learn some principles."
Old Man Ye and the others were shocked. Hiring a female tutor for the maid in the house? There are actually female tutors in this world?
Master Qian knew that many wealthy families had the custom of hiring tutors for their daughters.
But to his surprise, Ye Caiping, a mere peasant woman, actually had such thoughts and vision.
"It's a pity I don't know anyone. But I can ask some of my old classmates."
"Thank you, Master Qian," Ye Caiping said with a smile. "It's getting late. We've prepared a simple meal at Shunke Restaurant. Please don't find it offensive."
"Haha, I'm actually quite hungry."
The group stood up, chatting and laughing as they left.
Du Shi caught up with Master Qian and asked, "What are the arrangements for Xuan'er and Peng'er now? Should they go home and wait?"
"Teaching here first, see if you can meet Master Shen. If not, continue your studies, and I will recommend you to take the county school exam in April."
Master Qian was confident that Ye Xuan would be able to pass the county school entrance exam, but Ye Peng... sigh!
"Thank you, Master Qian." Madam Du was delighted.
Mrs. Du was sincerely grateful to Mr. Qian.
Some people are so focused on making money that they want as many students as possible, and they can't bear to see their students leave.
Moreover, Ye Xuan is a talented individual. Some people, eager to gain fame, would snatch up any promising young talent and wouldn't be willing to let him go.
However, Master Qian told the truth for Ye Xuan's future, which shows his noble character.
As the group left the main room, they saw Ye Xuan and Ye Peng sitting in the corridor.
Upon seeing them, he immediately stood up and said, "Greetings, Master."
"Yes, let's eat together!"
The group arrived at Shunkelou.
After a satisfying meal, Ye Caiping went to pay the bill, but Du Shi insisted on paying first.
This is all for her son!
Du was already extremely grateful that her sister-in-law had paid for her tuition; how could she possibly let her sister-in-law pay for this thank-you banquet?
On the way back, Ye Xuan learned why Master Qian had sought them out, and he was deeply moved.
Ye Peng, however, was deflated: "Why do I still have to go to school?"
"You brat!" Madam Wei pinched his ear. "You better study hard and try your best to catch up. Maybe you can get into the county school in April with the teacher's recommendation."
"What are you thinking about!" Ye Peng rolled his eyes.
Then, Ye Peng was pinched so hard that he screamed.
Ye Caiping and Du Shi, among others, all laughed as they watched.
Ye Caiping said, "Sister-in-law, didn't Jinhua and Yinhua say last time that they liked making clothes? If you have some free time tomorrow, you can go to town and find out which cloth shop or embroidery shop is looking for apprentices."
Mr. Wei thought to himself, "Learning this also costs money."
Du said, "Don't worry about Jin Hua, she found it herself."
"You found it yourself?"
"It's the same cloth shop we bought cloth from last time, the one owned by the Yao family. Didn't Jin Hua and the others receive several hundred coins as New Year's money later? She went to that cloth shop a few times to buy handkerchiefs and hair ties, and somehow she became quite familiar with the shopkeeper."
"Manager Yao is looking for someone to do odd jobs. If she's willing to work for free, we'll teach her how to make clothes."
Ye Caiping laughed and said, "I didn't expect Jinhua to be so capable."
"Absolutely, just like me." He said with a proud look.
"When will she go to the cloth shop to help out?"
"I don't know either, I'll ask her later."
Ms. Wei listened, feeling extremely uneasy.
As they were talking, the oxcart had already entered the village.
Du and her son got off the cart first, followed by the three members of the second family. Only then did Ye Daquan drive the oxcart into the cowshed.
Ye Caiping and Old Man Ye jumped out of the car and looked into the pigpen. It was clean and tidy, and four piglets were lying comfortably on the ground, resting.
The chicken coop and duck coop were also neatly arranged.
As the group entered the house, they saw Old Lady Ye sunbathing at the door.
"You're finally back," Grandma Ye said with a smile.
"Where's my older sister?"
"She went back early this morning." Grandma Ye smiled broadly as she said this, pulling Ye Caiping aside and whispering, "Xiao Yan is really something else, so diligent and efficient. What takes me an hour to do, she finishes in half an hour. With her around, my life is so much easier."
"That's good. Where is she?"
"She was doing embroidery in the room, and the sisters Jinhua, Yinhua, and Jin'er were also there."
"I'll go see them."
Ye Caiping went to Yang Xiaoyan's room.
Five maids were sitting on the bed, chatting and laughing while doing embroidery.
Ye Caiping couldn't help but exclaim in surprise, "Xiao Yan's embroidery skills are so good?"
"Hmm, it's alright." Yang Xiaoyan smiled, pursing her lips. "My former neighbor was an old embroiderer. She had no children, and I would occasionally bring her some things. She then taught me how to embroider."
“Just by selling embroidered handkerchiefs, I can earn more than a hundred coins a month.”
As she spoke, Yang Xiaoyan suddenly paused, looking at Ye Caiping expectantly: "Auntie, can I do some embroidery in my spare time to earn a hundred or so coins?"
Ye Caiping chuckled: "Of course you can."
"Thank you, Auntie."
Ye Caiping looked at Jinhua: "Jinhua, I heard from your mother that you found a job at the cloth shop in town?"
"Yes." Jin Hua's face flushed. "Aunt Yao asked me to start working in February, which is tomorrow. The time has been agreed upon: I'll be there at half past Chen Shi (7:30 AM) and I can be home by 5 PM (5:00 PM)."
Ye Caiping nodded, then glanced at Ye Yinhua.
Ye Yinhua said anxiously, "Aunt... I... I don't want to learn how to make clothes. I'd rather learn embroidery from Sister Xiaoyan. Sister Xiaoyan... would you be willing to teach me?"
"I'm teaching you right now," Yang Xiaoyan said with a smile. "We're sisters, why be so formal?"
