Lin Wanxing has been sitting at home unpacking gifts for the past few days. These wealthy and noble people are very generous; even a casual gift is worth a lot of money.
The wedding was held in Love Bay, a venue that can't be booked just by having money; it depends on one's connections, family background, and financial resources.
Shen Huai'an simply booked a dozen or so tables there. He and Lin Wanxing didn't invite many people to their wedding. They had already sent out all their wedding invitations long ago, and those who didn't receive an invitation weren't on the guest list.
Shen Huai'an didn't want to be too high-profile, and didn't even invite the media.
With only one day left until the wedding, Lin Wanxing has been staying home obediently these past few days, patiently waiting to marry her second brother tomorrow.
He's been trying on clothes all day. His second brother even has to work hard for his wedding. These past few days he's been very relaxed, spending his time at home watching cartoons to pass the time, while his second brother is extremely busy.
He was busy with project matters right before the wedding, and now his second brother has to handle all aspects of the group's affairs.
"Wanxing, you're getting married to your husband tomorrow. Are you happy?" Butler Chen, wearing a pink apron, came out of the kitchen.
He cared deeply about Lin Wanxing and Shen Huai'an. Butler Chen was especially happy that they were about to have their wedding. The two were in love and should have gotten married long ago.
"Butler Chen, I'm very happy, but at the same time I'm a little nervous, after all, it's my first time."
Butler Chen took a small velvet box out of his apron pocket and handed it to Lin Wanxing, saying, "This is a gift for you."
Lin Wanxing was quite surprised; he hadn't expected Butler Chen to give him a gift.
"Give it to me, really?"
Butler Chen smiled and said earnestly, "It's for you."
Lin Wanxing took the small box with delight in her eyes, "Butler Chen, you're so kind."
"Wanxing, open it and take a look!" Butler Chen reminded him.
Lin Wanxing couldn't wait to open it. "It's a small golden bear badge."
The little bear is so cute! It's made of pure gold and has two round, chubby eyes that make it look adorable.
"This is perfect for Wanxing. I don't have any expensive gifts to give, but I hope you'll like this one."
Lin Wanxing's eyes welled up with tears as he looked at the bear badge. He really loved this gift; the bear badge was so beautiful.
"Butler Chen, thank you so much. I didn't expect you to give me a gift." Lin Wanxing was a little touched.
"Don't say that!" Butler Chen genuinely liked Wanxing. Wanxing was innocent and pure, devoted to her master, and most importantly, she was very kind.
Lin Wanxing quickly put the badge on his front. The cute cartoon bear perfectly matched Lin Wanxing's image, both of them being silly.
"Second brother, why isn't he back yet?" After putting on her badge, Lin Wanxing suddenly remembered that her second brother hadn't returned yet.
"Second brother, is there a lot of things he hasn't done? He's been even busier than before since his wedding."
Butler Chen wasn't very clear about this. The master had been busy with work, and recently the Shen family had run into trouble. The eldest son of the first branch, Shen Taimin, had been kicked out, so naturally many things fell on Shen Huai'an's shoulders.
"Wanxing, your husband has been busy preparing for the wedding and the group's projects lately, so he might neglect you a bit, but he'll be done soon."
Lin Wanxing is a sensible child. He won't be unhappy over such a small thing. He also knows that his second brother has been busy lately.
"Wanxing, don't wait for the master anymore. You must be tired, so go and rest."
"You two have to get up early tomorrow, don't you?" Butler Chen smiled kindly. He adored Wanxing, who was practically his grandson to him.
Lin Wanxing nodded and said, "Okay, I'm going to bed early."
He walked back upstairs with a smile. He was overjoyed to receive the gift from Butler Chen. He took a picture of the special gift and posted it on his WeChat Moments. Soon, Shen Zhiting liked the post.
But the next second his phone received a text message from an unknown number.
"Congratulations! You and Shen Er are finally getting married!"
This unfamiliar text message made Lin Wanxing feel uncomfortable subconsciously.
"Who are you?" Lin Wanxing immediately sent a message to the other party.
"Who I am is not important; what matters is who you marry tomorrow."
The message that person sent made Lin Wanxing unable to help but complain, "Seriously!"
She already knows she's married to her second brother, yet she still spouts this rambling nonsense. She's either sick or mentally challenged.
"What I mean is, do you really know him? Don't end up not even recognizing the true face of the person you're sharing a bed with." The person seemed to know what Lin Wanxing was thinking.
"I know Second Brother better than you do. You don't need to tell me what kind of person he is," Lin Wanxing retorted angrily.
He had known his second brother for so long and spent so much time with him; no one understood his second brother's character better than himself.
This unfamiliar text message is giving me a headache. I wonder which villain is hiding behind the scenes, maliciously slandering my second brother.
"Haha, do you really understand? Don't worry, I didn't mean any harm. I was just trying to kindly remind a little fool who's been kept in the dark and kept being fooled."
"Fool," this was Lin Wanxing saying. This arrogant yet somewhat pitying tone made Lin Wanxing feel deeply uncomfortable.
What exactly is this person trying to say? Is he mocking himself for being a fool?
Lin Wan stared intently at the text message on his phone. The word "idiot" deeply stung him. He grabbed his phone and quickly replied, "I'm not an idiot."
