Lin Wanxing held the little duck in his hand, lying comfortably in the bathtub.
The fine foam accidentally got on his cheek, like a dollop of cream that had been smeared on him. Combined with his rosy cheeks, he looked even more delicious, like a dessert ready to be enjoyed.
Lin Wanxing played blankly in the water, like a child, poking at the rubber duck in the water, making a crisp sound as he squeezed it, and then showing a happy smile.
On the other side, Shen Huai'an sat elegantly in his study upstairs.
He leaned back lazily on the sofa, his hair still meticulously combed back to reveal his smooth forehead, a cigarette between his slender fingers, and blue smoke spreading around him as he looked up at the large surveillance screen in the study.
Watching Lin Wanxing play in the water in the bathroom without any precautions, the other wall of the study was covered with surveillance cameras of various sizes. The monitor in Lin Wanxing's bedroom was the largest, and Shen Huai'an liked to keep an eye on Lin Wanxing's every move.
Ever since he brought Lin Wanxing home, he had ordered people to install surveillance cameras in every corner of the rooms.
Shen Huai'an looked at the extremely cute little fool in the bathroom, whose watery eyes were so alluring.
Lin Wanxing leaned his head to the side, resting on the edge of the bathtub. The skin on his back was fair and delicate. He seemed tired, lying there quietly with his mouth open, holding a small duck in his hand, seemingly saying something. Suddenly, he smiled, a smile that was both innocent and seductive.
Shen Huai'an stared at the monitor in the bathroom, and Lin Wanxing was fully displayed in front of him from all angles.
At this moment, Shen Huai'an couldn't help but move his legs. He held a cigarette in his hand, stubbed it out hard in the ashtray, and quickly unbuckled his belt with his other hand.
He pulled the belt out with his backhand and casually tossed it onto the coffee table, the metal buckle clattering against the glass table.
Shen Huai'an stared intently at the screen, his eyes bulging, wishing he could reach through the monitor and grab Lin Wanxing out of there.
He was a perpetually elegant gentleman, even when doing something like this, he was so nonchalant.
Although his legs are no longer good, he is still quite capable in other areas.
He gently pushed up his glasses on the bridge of his nose with his wrist. There was a knock on the door. Shen Huai'an turned his head to look at the door, picked up the remote control on the coffee table, and turned off the monitor being projected.
Shen Huai'an cleared his throat and called out to the people outside, "Come in!"
Zheng Hu walked in, dressed in a black suit. Shen Huai'an shook his hand, looked up, and sighed, "So, did you catch him?"
He asked so casually, as if he were asking some very ordinary question, that Shen Huai'an took out a handkerchief and elegantly wiped his hands.
Zheng Hu bowed respectfully to him. "Sir, we have found the person. We stopped him at the highway bridge."
Zheng Hu turned around and waved to the two men under his command. The two men, dressed in suits, pushed Li Jiyan step by step into the study.
Li Jiyan's face was covered in injuries. He never expected that his escape in the middle of the night would be discovered and that he would be caught and brought back. He was trembling as he was forcibly pushed into the study.
He looked at Shen Er sitting on the sofa, trembling all over. Shen Er was adjusting his pants with his head down. Suddenly, he looked up and curled his lips into a smile at Li Jiyan. The gold-rimmed glasses reflected the iridescent light of the crystal chandelier, making it impossible to see his cold, sinister eyes, which flashed with a chilling light.
Upon seeing that smile, Li Jiyan was so frightened that her legs went weak, and she involuntarily knelt down in front of Shen Er.
Shen Huai'an sat up straight and looked at Li Jiyan as he pondered seriously. He asked, "Butler Li, you've been with me for many years, haven't you?"
Li Jiyan cautiously looked up and glanced at Chen Er, "Seven years, it's been seven years since I met you, sir."
Seven years is enough time for a person's perspective to change.
Shen Huai'an's voice gradually turned cold, "Even married couples experience a seven-year itch, so why the master-servant dynamic? If you want to change masters, I naturally won't stop you."
"But you shouldn't let me down!"
Shen Huai'an's last words were like ice falling into Li Jiyan's heart, and only then did he feel endless fear.
He had followed Shen Er for seven years, and he knew exactly what kind of person Shen Er was. He knew that if he betrayed him now, he would not have a good ending.
Li Jiyan felt a pang of regret. He shouldn't have betrayed Shen Huai'an; at the very least, he shouldn't have sided with Shen Taimin.
He never imagined that a single phone call would expose all his carefully laid secrets.
Lin Wanxing's unintentional words revealed his true colors.
Although Shen Huai'an did not trust Li Jiyan, he never imagined that this subordinate who had followed him for seven years would be his elder brother's man. Thanks to the little fool, otherwise he would still be kept in the dark.
“Mr. Shen, I know I was wrong. Please forgive me for the sake of how long I’ve worked with you. I promise I will do my best to serve you in the future.”
Li Jiyan hurriedly admitted his mistake and tried to persuade Shen Huai'an to show leniency by appealing to their past master-servant relationship.
Shen Huai'an wrinkled his nose impatiently, his face as cold as ice. He gestured to his subordinate, who immediately understood and quickly took out a pack of cigarettes from his suit pocket and handed it to him, bending down to light it for him with practiced ease.
Shen Huai'an squinted, took a drag of his cigarette, and slowly exhaled a puff of smoke. "After all these years, I still cherish the old feelings we shared, so I won't ask anything of you."
"I heard you miss your mother a lot, how about I take you to see her?"
Shen Huai'an spoke earnestly to Li Jiyan, whose eyes widened as she hurriedly looked at the people behind her. Zheng Hu stood straight with his hands behind his back, and other bodyguards blocked the doorway.
He was now trapped with no way out. "Mr. Shen, I know I was wrong. Please give me a chance. I promise I will behave well from now on. Please."
Li Jiyan was originally a cowardly and timid good-for-nothing. He had been able to maintain such a respectable appearance all these years entirely thanks to Shen Huai'an. Without Shen Huai'an, he was nothing.
But he was not satisfied and his greed grew. When he saw that Shen Huai'an had been in a car accident and was now crippled, his former glory was gone, and he had been overthrown by Shen Taimin, he began to have other ideas.
He was never a loyal person to begin with, and Shen Taimin won him over with just a few words. Over the past few years, he has been constantly leaking important information to Shen Taimin while staying by Shen Huai'an's side.
He thought he would be set for life and never have to worry about food or clothing, or that he would gain Shen Taimin's favor and be freed from his position as a mere steward. He had hidden himself so well for so many years that Shen Huai'an had never suspected him. He never expected to be caught off guard and have everything exposed by a fool.
Li Jiyan didn't know whether to say she was unlucky or that the fool had accidentally ruined everything.
Shen Huai'an sneered, took a drag on his cigarette, and flicked off the ash. "Do you think I would keep someone who betrayed me by my side?"
Suddenly, Zheng Hu grabbed Li Jiyan's shoulder from behind, and with a crack, a pig-like scream instantly echoed in the study.
Shen Huai'an listened to Li Jiyan's cries with a blank expression, completely ignoring the pleas for mercy, and calmly smoked a cigarette.
He sat leisurely on the sofa, watching the cruel scene unfold before him as if he were enjoying a perfect play.
