Chapter 94 The Hardworking Second Brother

Lin Wanxing thought Coco was right. They didn't have a wedding yet, so how could they be married? Second Brother should announce their relationship to the public.

That way, everyone outside will know that my second brother and I are a real couple.

Lin Wanxing's gaze shifted to her hands, and her bare hands were indeed missing something.

Wedding rings—in TV dramas, couples always wear rings that symbolize true love after they become husband and wife. Lin Wanxing touched her ring finger. Why wasn't there a ring here?

Thinking back, even before Chen Xueping and Fang Ze held their wedding, Chen Xueping was already wearing a ring on her hand—a super dazzling diamond ring.

Lin Wanxing doesn't need any diamond rings; he just needs one ring.

My second brother didn't mention this, so how could he bring it up?

Lin Wanxing rolled around on the bed, lost in thought, when his phone suddenly rang.

He picked up his phone from the bedside table and frowned when he saw the incoming call message on the screen. It was Xu Feng.

Why would he make a phone call at this time? Xu Feng is annoying. Lin Wanxing knows she's wicked and tries every means to harm him, so he has always hated Xu Feng.

If it weren't for Xu Feng, perhaps his mother wouldn't have left.

He hesitated whether to answer the phone, the ringing incessantly assaulting his ears until the screen went dark and the ringing stopped.

The next second, the ringtone started again.

This time, Lin Wanxing answered the phone without hesitation. He rolled his eyes and asked, "Auntie, is there something you need?"

On the other end of the phone, Xu Feng sobbed, "Wanxing, your sister was injured a few days ago, and something happened at the company too. Now the family is in chaos. Your dad has been talking about you a lot lately. Although I did some things wrong in the past, your dad will always be your father. I was wrong about what happened to Wanxing in the past, so please don't blame your dad."

“Your dad misses you a lot lately, and your sister misses you too. We’ve lived together for over ten years, so we’re practically family.”

Xu Feng cried on the phone, begging Lin Wanxing to come home and see Chen Shuhua.

"Auntie, does my dad want to see me?" Lin Wanxing asked softly.

"How is my sister's injury? Has she gone home?" Even at this moment, Lin Wanxing still didn't forget to ask about Chen Xueping's injury, acting like a complete fool.

Xu Feng immediately said, "Your sister's injuries aren't serious, just some superficial wounds. She can be discharged tomorrow. Go home after she's discharged."

It's not serious; Xu Feng is lying to herself.

Chen Xueping couldn't possibly be discharged from the hospital so soon. What exactly is Xu Feng trying to do? Something seems off. Could she be setting a trap for her?

"Wanxing, come home tomorrow. Your father wants to talk to you. Let's all sit down and have a good chat. We'll get things out of this. Wanxing, just go home by yourself. Don't bring Mr. Chen back with you."

Xu Feng gently instructed him, her words undoubtedly revealing her true intentions. There was definitely something wrong with her sending him home, and even her second brother couldn't stay by her side; she probably wanted to make it easier to take action.

Lin Wanxing's hesitation made Xu Feng a little anxious, and she continued, "It's more convenient for us family members to talk behind closed doors, so Wanxing shouldn't bring Mr. Chen along."

"Auntie, then I'll go back tomorrow."

Xu Feng immediately stopped crying and said, "Wanxing, remember to come early."

"Okay, I'll go home early tomorrow."

Lin Wanxing had no idea what was going on, and he stared blankly at his phone for a moment.

He thought about it carefully but still didn't quite understand why he suddenly wanted to go home. His father missed him, but that reason was a bit far-fetched, because his father had always been indifferent and uncaring towards him over the years. Why would his father suddenly miss him?

Chen Xueping was the apple of his eye, while he himself was a fool who had always embarrassed him.

It's strange that he has to go back alone and can't bring his second brother.

Lin Wanxing lowered his head, not quite understanding this matter. He was naturally slow to react, and he couldn't figure it out, so he could only go and talk to his second brother.

He jumped out of bed and ran quickly to the study. His room was quite far from his second brother's study. When he got there, Shen Er leisurely closed the video on his tablet.

The protagonist in that video was none other than his little fool. Shen Er sat in the chair, slowly fastening his belt and straightening his shirt.

When Lin Wanxing ran over and walked in, she saw Shen Huai'an sitting there working diligently on documents.

Shen Huai'an was writing intently with a fountain pen in his hand. The French windows of the study were open, and a cool breeze blew in. His second brother sat upright, his white shirt spotless, exuding a refined and elegant air.

Lin Wanxing felt that it was too much of a hassle to ask her second brother about such a small matter, as it might be disturbing his work. Her second brother had been very busy with work lately and had a lot of things to deal with.

The pen scratched across the paper, and Lin Wanxing, holding his teddy bear, didn't want to disturb his second brother's serious work. He tiptoed outside and heard his second brother's voice.

"Why are you here? Is there something you need?" Shen Huai'an asked him without looking up.

"Actually, it's just a small matter, not very important, and I think I can handle it myself."

Shen Huai'an was still writing something when he looked down at the documents and asked Lin Wanxing, "Speak, what's the matter?"

Lin Wanxing knew that her second brother seemed really busy. He was outstanding and very important in the group, and he had to handle many things personally.

Actually, I didn't want to bother him.

"Go ahead and speak, I'm listening." Shen Huai'an's voice was soft, and he always gave everyone the impression of being gentle and kind.

He always had enough patience when facing Lin Wanxing, and even if Lin Wanxing's questions were sometimes childish and stupid, he would still explain them to her seriously.

He seems to be a naturally kind person, capable of winning the favor of countless people. Although he can be serious and earnest at times, he only acts that way when it comes to work.

Lin Wanxing hesitated for a moment and said, "My aunt told me to go home for dinner tomorrow."

Shen Huai'an paused for a moment with his pen, then looked up and asked, "Xingxing, I'm free tomorrow, I can go back with you."

Lin Wanxing hugged the teddy bear, gently pinching its ears with one hand. He walked over and sat down opposite Shen Huai'an. "Auntie said you can't come with me back. It's inconvenient for our family to chat with you here."

"I felt I had to tell my second brother before going out to play, so I came to tell you."

Shen Huai'an gently capped the pen in his hand, looked at the boy, and pinched his cheek. "Good boy, you have to tell me in advance no matter what happens."
