Chapter 107 A Heartbeat as Irregular as an Electrical Fault

Mingdai was already lost in thought and couldn't concentrate. When He Yaonian pulled her, she didn't pay attention and stumbled.

She felt her forehead hit something hard with a thud, and the next second she smelled a faint scent of cedarwood, cool and refreshing.

Breathing stopped completely within a few brief seconds.

Mingdai felt dizzy and her heart was racing. She looked up and stared blankly at He Yaonian.

Under the cover of night, the two were very close. He Yaonian did not push her away immediately. Instead, when she looked over, his gaze locked onto her.

If beauty can be used to bully, then He Yaonian's face will profoundly influence Mingdai's life.

Are you alright?

He Yaonian's deep and pleasant voice rang in my ears.

Mingdai then snapped out of her daze as if she had been electrocuted.

After realizing what was happening, she hurriedly pushed He Yaonian away, awkwardly gathering her long hair that had fallen to the sides of her face behind her ears.

My earlobes were burning hot, and my cheeks were also hot.

My heartbeat is erratic, like an electrical malfunction.

"fine."

Mingdai shook her head, lowered her head, and tried her best to take deep breaths.

What do you think about while walking?

He Yaonian stared at Mingdai's round head.

Is something on your mind?

Something on your mind?

Mingdai's eyelashes trembled; how could she dare let him know her secrets?

"No, I just tripped by accident."

Besides, the reason she was in such a sorry state was because he suddenly reached out and pulled her up.

"Then be careful."

He Yaonian turned his head and reminded Mingdai to follow closely.

Mingdai felt unwell and wanted to go back.

He Yaonian, however, seemed to be in a great mood and insisted on going to the square in front to take a look.

Mingdai had no choice but to follow silently.

The square was bustling with people.

Mingdai and He Yaonian maintained a safe distance, so that if someone bumped into her, she would touch He Yaonian's body.

He Yaonian glanced at Mingdai several times, but Mingdai couldn't understand what his look meant.

Until someone accidentally bumped into Mingdai again.

He Yaonian frowned and reached out to pull Mingdai in front of him.

"Mingdai, wouldn't you like to take a walk with me?"

As she asked this question, Mingdai's gaze fell on the hand that He Yaonian was using to hold her arm.

He didn't let go; he used a bit too much force.

Through the thin fabric of her clothes, the warmth of his palm seemed to scorch her skin.

When did she become so sensitive?

Even though it was just a very ordinary interaction, she was always so distracted and easily startled.

It all comes down to that utterly absurd dream.

Why would she have such a dream?

"I'm just feeling a little unwell."

Mingdai made up an excuse.

My stomach feels a little uncomfortable.

She forced a smile, not wanting to spoil He Yaonian's mood, but she was also in a bad mood and not really suited for a walk.

Mingdai suggested, "How about we go back?"

"good."

On the way back, He Yaonian drove.

Mingdai sat in the passenger seat.

Although she wanted to hide in the back, she felt that He Yaonian would be angry.

The atmosphere inside the car was very quiet.

Mingdai silently gripped the seatbelt with both hands, tilting her head and completely spacing out.

He Yaonian drove attentively without saying a word.

A while later, a romantic, melancholic female singer awakened Mingdai from her reverie with her languid voice.

Mingdai turned her head.

He Yaonian was lighting a cigarette with a lighter.

His movements were not very skillful; at least, he wasn't very good at operating with one hand.

As far as I can remember, this man smoked very rarely.

Mingdai inexplicably felt that she was the one who caused it.

But he quickly dismissed the idea.

She shouldn't overestimate her position in He Yaonian's heart.

A faint smell of tobacco filled the carriage, but the next second both windows were opened, letting in the night breeze, which quickly carried the smell away.

Mingdai didn't even have time to feel any discomfort.

He Yaonian squinted, a cigarette dangling from his lips, and gave Ming Dai a lukewarm look.

Mingdai wanted to say something to break the silence.

But after thinking it over, he finally kept quiet.

There's not much to talk about.

Fortunately, the female singer was still lazily singing about past and present lives, and the entanglement of fate filled the whole melody with an indescribable sorrow and grief.

Mingdai was so engrossed in listening that she didn't even notice when the car entered the villa gate.

When I looked out again, the car had already entered the main road of the villa.

We're almost there.

Mingdai sat up and turned her head to stare out the car window.

As soon as the car stopped, she thanked He Yaonian as if nothing had happened.

"Uncle Xie treated me to dinner, and Uncle Xie drove me back."

The more polite you are, the more distant you become.

Mingdai ran away, chasing him like a dog all the way into the villa, and disappeared from He Yaonian's sight.

He Yaonian remained seated in the car, unable to move for a long time.

That night, Mingdai had another dream.

When she woke up, she was blushing. She felt that she could no longer stay here and had to find a place where she would no longer have such inappropriate erotic dreams.

So Mingdai decided to leave that very night.

But when she rushed downstairs, she saw He Yaonian sitting alone on the sofa drinking.

Mingdai's descent downstairs was quite a grand affair, and He Yaonian naturally glanced at her.

Mingdai froze instantly.

It's already past 4 a.m., no, it should be considered the early hours of the morning.

What kind of wine does He Yaonian drink when he doesn't sleep?

What could be bothering him that necessitates drinking at this time?

Or should we just turn around and go back as if nothing happened?

But He Yao Nian's gaze seemed to want to devour her.

Mingdai stood up straight, looking strangely like a child who had made a mistake.
