He Yaonian didn't say anything, and threw the steel pipe.
The ferocity on his face had not completely faded, and he was poised to strike.
He looked down at Mingdai.
Mingdai thought she would be extremely flustered.
She thought that at this moment she might be at a loss and rush into He Yaonian's arms.
Yet she managed to remain rational and ask He Yaonian, "How did you know I was here?"
He Yaonian still didn't speak, but simply raised his hand and gently brushed away the messy strands of hair on Mingdai's face.
Mingdai felt He Yaonian's fingers trembling, and they were ice-cold.
My heart clenched violently.
She grabbed He Yaonian's hand and forced a smile.
To comfort He Yaonian.
"It's alright now. Luckily you arrived in time. Everything is over."
If He Yaonian hadn't come, she would have definitely been defeated by Mo Tingchuan today.
He Yaonian took a deep breath, turned around and called out to Gu Chengyun outside.
"Gu Chengyun, go and get the blanket from my car."
Gu Chengyun immediately replied, "Okay, I understand, right away."
The blanket was large enough to cover Mingdai from head to toe.
Mingdai did not resist, and He Yaonian picked her up horizontally.
She curled up in He Yaonian's arms, unaware that large tears were falling from her eyes.
All she knew was that He Yaonian carefully carried her into the car, and she remained in his arms, held tightly in his embrace, feeling very safe.
Gu Chengyun drove the car out of the yard.
On her way home, Mingdai was in a daze.
My stomach started churning halfway through the journey.
With a loud "whoosh," Mingdai vomited.
She jumped out of the car, leaned against a tree by the roadside, and vomited violently.
He Yaonian patted her back, fed her water, and wiped her mouth.
Gu Chengyun stood to the side watching, his furrowed brows never relaxing.
Finally, Mingdai was sent to the hospital for a full-body examination.
He Yaonian felt that Mo Tingchuan was capable of anything and needed to be investigated.
It was only when Mingdai was undergoing her examination that Gu Chengyun had time to ask He Yaonian.
"Is she...is she alright?"
The question was asked subtly.
He Yaonian could understand it.
He shook his head. "No, she resisted violently, which delayed things for a while."
Gu Chengyun then looked up and breathed a sigh of relief.
When Mingdai was almost finished with the examination, she couldn't stay awake any longer and fell asleep.
He Yaonian stayed by her side, never leaving her for a moment.
He looked at Mingdai's pale and frail face, remembering how he had assured her that morning that nothing would happen.
He Yaonian silently held Mingdai's small hand, his face gloomy.
After all the test results came out, it was pitch black outside.
Fortunately, there was nothing seriously wrong.
He Yaonian decided to take Mingdai back with him.
Gu Chengyun frowned. "We can't go back to the He family."
With so many people in the He family, things could get very complicated.
He Yaonian said, "Come to my place."
Gu Chengyun was relieved.
"Then I won't go. Call me if anything happens."
He Yaonian patted Gu Chengyun on the shoulder, very grateful.
Thank you for today.
If it weren't for Gu Chengyun, I'm afraid...
When Mingdai woke up, her mind was still a little dazed.
She looked around; the surroundings were unfamiliar.
The wall lamp was on, but it was dim and wouldn't hurt her eyes.
She paused for a moment, then quickly sat up.
Just as I was about to nervously get out of bed, someone moved on the sofa.
Accompanied by He Yaonian's voice.
"woke up?"
Mingdai stopped getting out of bed.
"Third Uncle?"
He Yaonian got up and walked over.
His hand gently touched Mingdai's forehead.
"The fever has subsided."
When I brought Mingdai here before, I found that she had a fever.
Mingdai realized that she was in He Yaonian's own villa.
"Mo Tingchuan, have you asked someone to take care of this?"
If he really dies, it will be quite troublesome.
Are you hungry?
He Yaonian doesn't want to hear that name right now.
Mingdai understood, knowing that He Yaonian must have taken action. She smiled and said, "I'm a little hungry."
He turned his head to look out the window again.
What time is it?
Three o'clock.
Three points?
Mingdai frowned. "Three in the morning?"
He Yaonian smiled and lightly tapped her forehead with his finger.
What do you think?
Mingdai hadn't expected her to sleep for so long; no wonder she felt hungry.
Is there anything to eat right now?
"Would you like to go out for a while?"
He Yaonian said to Mingdai, "It's fine to eat in bed."
I couldn't possibly accept that.
Mingdai also did not have the habit of eating in bed.
She followed He Yaonian out the door.
Once she got to the living room, she realized she was wearing pajamas she had never seen before.
He Yaonian was also wearing pajamas.
They are all decent and presentable styles.
Perhaps noticing Mingdai examining the pajamas, He Yaonian said, "I changed you with my eyes closed, because I was afraid your clothes would be uncomfortable."
The shirt that Mingdai was wearing before was torn to shreds by Mo Tingchuan.
Mingdai felt a little ashamed as she imagined the scene of He Yaonian changing her clothes.
"Thank you, Third Uncle."
He Yaonian smiled and pointed to the sofa.
"Please sit down first, I'll go get you something to eat."
Mingdai didn't want to sit.
She followed behind He Yaonian.
"Just eat whatever's available."
"I ordered takeout for dinner. It came with some pre-made semi-finished products, so I just need to process them a bit now."
The two chatted about lighthearted topics, avoiding anything that had thrown Mingdai into a state of panic.
Mingdai followed He Yaonian into the kitchen.
The semi-finished product was very generous, with meat and vegetables, as well as noodles, porridge, and rice.
