Such a guarantee was of no use to He Yaonian.
He didn't need to argue with Mingdai, because he would come to pick her up in the afternoon.
Mingdai entered the company carrying flowers and cold drinks.
A colleague came over and whispered to her, "Mo Qingying is here."
Mingdai raised an eyebrow.
"Just her?"
"right."
Mingdai did not have her own private office; she shared one with her colleagues in the secretariat.
People who initially had reservations about her gradually changed their opinion of her after spending time with her and realizing that Mingdai was capable and not the kind of spoiled young lady who knew nothing but still wanted to boss others around.
Mingdai took two cups of tea to the reception room.
Mo Qingying had been waiting for more than ten minutes.
Seeing Mingdai enter, she asked matter-of-factly, "Why didn't you answer my calls?"
Mingdai slowly put down her teacup and sat down on the sofa.
“I’m not as leisurely as you all day long, Miss. I have to work.”
"You can call me back when you're not working."
Mo Qingying was very angry.
"You're deliberately ignoring my calls, aren't you?"
"I'm in a meeting, I don't have time."
Mingdai leaned back, stretching out comfortably.
"Speak, what is it?"
Mo Qingying then took a closer look at Mingdai.
"My brother got beaten up."
She stared at Mingdai's expression. "I think you should know."
Mingdai was surprised.
"He got beaten up, how am I supposed to know?"
Mingdai then looked as if she had suddenly realized something.
"So that's why you called me this morning."
Mingdai pretended to care.
"How is he now? Who hit him? Is it serious?"
Mo Qingying believes that Mingdai is faking it.
“You didn’t return to the villa last night. I want to know where you went.”
Mingdai found it funny.
"Even if you suspect me, you should at least provide evidence. If you don't like it, you can call the police."
Mo Qingying understood.
"It really was you. You didn't even dare to say what you were doing last night. Did you think I wouldn't dare to call the police? I just hope you can honestly explain things clearly. I don't want things to get too ugly."
"I'm not afraid of making a scene, do whatever you want."
Mingdai was fearless.
She seemed to suddenly remember something.
"Perhaps you can ask Qin Weiwei. Ever since she told me that your brother has other properties, I've had a feeling that she and your brother don't get along."
Mo Qingying was shocked.
"What did you say?"
"Don't you know?"
Mingdai was even more surprised.
"You didn't know that Qin Weiwei and Liu Mei knew each other?"
Mo Qingying's expression changed drastically.
Mingdai said incredulously, "To be honest, even Liu Mei's contact information was given to me by Qin Weiwei."
Mo Qingying found it hard to accept.
"You're talking nonsense. Qin Weiwei doesn't know any of this. She has no reason to do such a thing."
"If it weren't for her, I really wouldn't have known your brother owned other properties. By the way, when did you find out about your brother's house? Who told you? Your brother?"
Mingdai frowned.
"Anyway, I'm still completely confused about this matter. Your brother has been causing me trouble ever since, saying that I encouraged you and that I ran off with the money Liu Mei returned."
Mo Qingying shook her head.
"That's impossible."
She stared intently at Mingdai, her expression filled with suspicion and uncertainty.
"Have you been in contact with Qin Weiwei all along?"
Mingdai nodded thoughtfully, "It'll be intermittent."
Mingdai said, "The first time was when Qin Weiwei fell down the steps. Let me tell you, I really suffered in silence that time. I said I didn't push her, but none of you believed me. You all insisted that I was trying to harm her and her child."
Mingdai's argument was reasonable and well-founded.
"If I really couldn't tolerate her, I would have made trouble for her long ago. Why wait until then to take action?"
Mo Qingying is indecisive and easily swayed by others in many matters.
The fake jewelry incident, in particular, caused her a great deal of suffering.
She always thought she was stupid for making these mistakes.
But now someone is telling her that it was all the result of Qin Weiwei's meticulous planning.
Mo Qingying immediately felt relieved, the guilt shifted, and she felt righteous and self-righteous.
"No wonder I always felt something was off."
Mo Qingying gave a self-deprecating laugh.
Mingdai pretended to be understanding.
"I thought you knew, and I thought you and Qin Weiwei had a good relationship, and you even regarded her as your real sister-in-law."
Mingdai sighed, "I never expected it to turn out like this."
Mo Qingying's face looked very pale.
Mingdai then asked, "Did Qin Weiwei suggest you come here to find me?"
Mo Qingying's jaw tightened.
It's easy to see how angry he is.
Mingdai gave a bitter smile.
"She seems to have always been hostile towards me. Of course, I know she wants me to divorce your brother as soon as possible so that she and the child can have a legal status. But divorce is not something I can decide on my own."
Mingdai was troubled.
"Now your brother has been beaten up again. I heard that in order to be recognized by his ancestors and prevent his elders from finding out about his affair with Qin Weiwei, he wants Qin Weiwei to leave this city, right?"
Mingdai and Mo Qingying looked at each other.
"It seems... your brother doesn't really want Qin Weiwei's child anymore. The other day, Qin Weiwei asked me for help, and I was the one who took her to the hospital. I felt that she and your brother had argued a lot about this."
Mo Qingying couldn't say a word.
After the fake jewelry incident, she stopped caring much about the relationship between Qin Weiwei and her brother.
