He Yaonian didn't want to listen to Ming Dai's explanation, so he got up and shooed her away.
"Get out, I have to go."
He Yaonian walked towards his desk, his back to him cold and indifferent.
"Third Uncle."
Mingdai, unwilling to give up, chased after her.
She felt that He Yaonian must have misunderstood her somewhere, and although she had no evidence, there were some things she had to make clear.
“It wasn’t Mo Tingchuan who sent me. I admit that I didn’t have good intentions when I invited you to dinner before. I just wanted to get Mo Qingying’s fingerprint identification report. I’m sorry my motives were impure, but I really need this report.”
In her haste, Mingdai quickly took a few steps and blocked He Yaonian's path.
She spread her arms, blocking He Yaonian's path.
"Third Uncle, Mo Qingying has ulterior motives and wants to poison me. I will never let her off so easily. She must pay the price."
How could she continue to be controlled by Mo Tingchuan?
Upon hearing this, a hint of barely perceptible surprise flashed across He Yaonian's indifferent eyes.
He looked down at Mingdai.
Determined to obtain the test results, Mingdai's pretty face, which was not specially made up, was perpetually pale and sickly. She was frail yet tenacious, like a small flower that could not be blown down by a strong wind.
However, He Yaonian did not believe Mingdai's explanation.
After a moment of hesitation, he finally compromised.
"I can't give you the things, but you can tell me your demands. How do you want to punish Mo Qingying? Do you want her to go to jail?"
Mingdai seemed thoughtful. "With just this test result, can she go to jail?"
“Intentional murder is illegal, and even if it is unsuccessful, the law will judge her.”
"Third Uncle, could we have the He family call the police first, or create the impression that the police are investigating Mo Qingying?"
Mo Tingchuan only gets anxious when the situation becomes dire.
He Yaonian gave a mysterious smile.
“Mingdai, you don’t really want to send Mo Qingying to prison.”
He bypassed Mingdai and sat down at the desk.
What trick are you trying to pull?
Mingdai hurriedly followed.
She was afraid that He Yaonian would think she just wanted to trick him into taking the test results.
"I would never dare to deceive my third uncle, much less play any tricks on him."
"oh?"
He Yaonian's expression softened. "Where's the tea?"
"Okay, I'll go get it."
Mingdai then jogged over and served the tea to He Yaonian.
The little mouth kept chattering.
"Third Uncle, do you think you could create a tense atmosphere? If you spread the word that Mo Qingying is going to jail, the Mo family will definitely be terrified."
Why would I do that?
He Yaonian sipped his tea casually, as if deliberately teasing Mingdai.
Mingdai observed that He Yaonian was not as aloof as before.
After much hesitation, she still risked her life to speak out.
"Because, because you don't like those people from the Mo family."
He Yaonian's eyes suddenly darkened.
Mingdai forced herself to look pitiful.
"Third Uncle, please help me."
At the dinner table, He Yaonian finished his meal slowly and deliberately, and while everyone was still sitting quietly, he looked at He Xingjian.
"We've already found the person who wanted to poison Mingdai, so let's contact the police tomorrow morning to take him into custody and go through the proper procedures."
The dining table fell silent.
Everyone looked at each other in bewilderment.
Although there were some speculations, not many people knew the truth.
"Thump!"
Mo Qingying, who was drinking soup, suddenly dropped her spoon, which slammed onto the table.
The commotion was significant and attracted considerable attention.
For a moment, everyone's eyes were fixed on Mo Qingying's face.
"During the Yao Nian era, wasn't this matter... this matter already in the past? Ming Dai didn't pursue it anymore, so why is it suddenly happening again..."
He Yaoyuan was startled.
"Who said it's in the past? This happened in the He family; do you think I would just ignore it?"
"The Yao era, this is all a misunderstanding, this..."
"The evidence is conclusive, what misunderstanding could there be?"
He Yaonian stood up and glanced at Mingdai.
"The fingerprint identification results will be kept by you for now. You are the victim, and you can communicate with Xingjian about any thoughts you have. Whether you choose to let it go or pursue it further is up to you."
"Since you're new here, consider this a small gift from the He family. Please make yourself at home."
After giving his brief explanation, He Yaonian distanced himself from the trouble.
But his words were like a bomb, shattering the Mo family into pieces.
Mingdai was also very excited.
She didn't expect He Yaonian to hand over the initiative to her.
Who is it?
One of the young masters asked Mingdai curiously, "Who wants to harm you?"
"Is it one of us sitting here?"
Mo Yumei and her daughter Mo Qingying were completely terrified. Mo Qingying was so scared that she couldn't even sit still. She stood up by supporting herself on the table and walked outside, afraid that she would break down and scream if she stayed any longer.
"Qingying".
Mo Yumei called out to her daughter in a panic. When she stood up, she accidentally knocked over the bowl and chopsticks next to her.
After a series of loud bangs, as Mo Yumei and her daughter disappeared, the young masters and ladies who had been speculating earlier finally understood.
"So it was our own people harming each other, tsk tsk tsk, how utterly heartless."
“How could Mingdai be considered family? If she were truly family, how could she have committed such a heinous act!”
"If the upper beam is crooked, the lower beam will be crooked too; each beam is more ruthless than the last. Absolutely brilliant."
The mocking and ridiculing voices rose and fell, and even Mo Tingchuan, who was usually very composed and good at putting on a show, had a dark face at this moment.
He grabbed Mingdai and pulled her outside.
