Chapter 37 Forcing Mingdai to Take the Blame

What is that?

Mingdai was so speechless she wanted to kick Mo Tingchuan.

It wasn't her who did it, so why is he so eager to claim it for her?

“This… Mo Tingchuan has admitted it, so it seems that Ming Dai really did it.”

"My God, how could this happen? Mingdai has gone mad."

"I reckon that chocolate was bought for Mingdai by Mo Tingchuan, otherwise how would Mo Tingchuan know it was made by Mingdai as soon as he arrived?"

"I'm speechless. Why did Mingdai do this? Sister Le treated her so well, and she went too far."

If there were still people who believed in and supported Mingdai before, Mo Tingchuan's actions have made it really hard for them to accept.

"Sister Le, don't listen to his nonsense. He doesn't know anything and he wants me to take the blame without even knowing the facts. I can't accept that."

Mingdai pushed Mo Tingchuan away.

Mo Tingchuan pulled Mingdai back again.

He lowered his head and warned in a low voice.

"I've already found everything, what more do you want! Stop messing around, okay? Aren't you ashamed?!"

"What's wrong with you? I didn't do it. If you don't believe me, fine, but why are you framing me like they are?"

"Then tell me why the chocolate was in your bag?"

Mo Tingchuan didn't disbelieve Mingdai; rather, the evidence was irrefutable, and her efforts to deny it here would be futile.

They've completely lost face.

"That's not mine."

Mingdai forcefully shook off Mo Tingchuan.

When the little girl's mother saw this, she burst out laughing.

“Mr. Mo, I think you don’t understand your wife at all. Look at her, she hurt someone else’s child and she’s still refusing to admit it. I heard it with my own ears. Not long ago, she even pushed one of my relatives’ children into the swimming pool.”

"Speaking of this, I remember last year or the year before, when she was attending some event, she locked a friend's child in a room, and the child cried so hard that he almost fainted."

"Some people say that Miss is in poor health and cannot have children, which is why she hates children."

The three women spared no effort in smearing Mingdai, and they were even more unscrupulous in front of Mo Tingchuan.

The others couldn't tell whether it was true or false, but seeing how logically these women were speaking, their expressions towards Mingdai became even more complicated and difficult to discern.

Sister Le couldn't stand it anymore. She winked at Mingdai and then walked away.

Mingdai thought to herself that it was fortunate that she was attending Sister Le's birthday party today; if it were someone else, she probably wouldn't have believed in and supported her so much.

Mo Tingchuan didn't know where Sister Le had gone, but all he wanted to do now was get Mingdai away as soon as possible.

He lowered his head and whispered to Mingdai, "We'll apologize to Sister Le properly later. We'll take the initiative to cover the child's medical expenses. We'll go to the hospital to apologize to the child in person afterward. We also need to talk to the child's father properly and not let him resort to legal means."

Mo Tingchuan regretted not accompanying Mingdai today, otherwise things wouldn't have turned out this way.

"Mo Tingchuan, didn't you hear what those women were saying about me? As my husband, shouldn't you stand up for me at a time like this?"

Mingdai was at a loss for words to express her disappointment.

Even if this man doesn't consider her feelings, he should at least do something to uphold the reputation of a united couple!

But what did he do?

He just felt ashamed of her!

Mo Tingchuan argued with a sullen face.

"You've made such a big fuss, so what if people say a few things about you? Besides, those are all nonsense. As long as you don't take it to heart, who will care later?"

It wasn't that Mo Tingchuan didn't want to stand up for Mingdai, but secretly he also hoped that Mingdai's reputation would be damaged in everyone's eyes, and that she would fall from her pedestal as a good woman.

Mingdai saw through Mo Tingchuan's ugly thoughts at a glance.

She was both horrified and amused.

Mo Tingchuan is so concerned about his reputation and his face, yet today he chooses to rather lose face himself than let Mingdai suffer controversy and get caught in this vortex where truth and falsehood are hard to distinguish.

Mingdai was so angry that she laughed instead.

She raised her chin, relaxed her expression, and looked sharply at the three women who were spreading rumors.

"Is everything you're saying based on your own eyes and ears? If you were to stand before a judge, could you take responsibility for what you just said?"

All three women were taken aback, not expecting Mingdai to take things to such an advanced level.

"I believe you can definitely take responsibility."

Mingdai looked up at the crowd, her bright eyes filled with a resolute determination that chilled people to the bone.

"Friends, you all heard what these three people said just now. They spread false information and openly slandered me. I will sue them, and I hope you will all pay attention to this case."

The group looked at each other in bewilderment.

What exactly happened?

Why does this sound like a conspiracy?

"Strange, doesn't Mo Tingchuan love Mingdai very much? Why didn't he speak up for Mingdai just now?"

"Or are those women telling the truth?"

“But Mingdai has already refuted it, and they’re even going to sue.”

"Is it possible that Mo Tingchuan and Mingdai's relationship wasn't actually that good, but they just hadn't shown it much?"

The discussions were impossible to suppress, rising and falling and spreading throughout the venue.

Mo Tingchuan's expression kept changing. Even though he wanted to seek justice for Ming Dai, he had missed the best opportunity.

The three women panicked a little when they realized that Mingdai was serious.

The little girl's mother's phone suddenly rang. She took it out and glanced at it. Her panic vanished instantly, replaced by a mocking smile.

"Ms. Ming, before you sue us for defamation, shouldn't I sue you for domestic violence first?"

The little girl's mother pointed to the gauze on Mo Tingchuan's forehead.

"Did you hit Mr. Mo on the forehead?"

What?

What's this latest gossip?

No one found it boring to stay there any longer; on the contrary, they wanted to continue watching the excitement.

Ming Dai had been trying to figure out the origins and purposes of these three women. She had never interacted with them before, so there was no deep-seated hatred between them.

Unless these three women acted on someone's orders.

Are they Mo Yumei and her daughter?

Just as he was thinking of this, the girl's mother asked about the injury on Mo Tingchuan's forehead, and insisted that she was the one who hit him.

As for Mo Tingchuan's injury, it's probably only Mo Yumei and her daughter who know the truth.

Mingdai still felt that Mo Qingying hadn't learned her lesson. She was still lying in the hospital bed, and she was already thinking about how to make things difficult for her.

Mingdai smiled, narrowing her eyes, and stared intently at Mo Tingchuan.

"Why don't you tell everyone what's wrong with your forehead?"

"This is pure fabrication."

Mo Tingchuan was very angry and glared at the little girl's mother.

"You have targeted my wife time and time again, and now you are spouting nonsense and making things up out of thin air. I ask you, what exactly are you trying to do?"

Mo Tingchuan didn't dare to directly ask the woman who was acting on her behalf.

In fact, by this point in the story, Mo Tingchuan already knew what had happened.

He couldn't let Mingdai stay any longer.

Even if it wasn't Mingdai who did it, she still has to swallow this bitter pill.
