Mingdai went straight upstairs, grabbed her bag, and headed to the hospital.
I bought a bouquet of flowers and a fruit basket on the way.
When I arrived at the ward door, I heard Xiangxiang's voice inside, full of energy.
Mingdai smiled and raised her hand to knock on the door.
The man who opened the door was Sister Le's husband, a very honest and simple man.
"Miss Ming."
He invited Mingdai inside.
Xiangxiang was very happy to see Mingdai. The sensible child felt very guilty about what happened yesterday.
Although he didn't know how terrible the final outcome would be, he still felt bad for causing trouble for Mingdai.
Mingdai held the child and gently comforted her until Sister Le arrived at the hospital.
The two were talking in the hallway.
Before telling Mingdai how things had progressed, Sister Le turned her head and looked at Mingdai very seriously for a while.
"That woman's name is Qin Weiwei, and her relationship with Mo Tingchuan seems to be unusual."
The corridor of the VIP ward was quiet, and Mingdai remained silent.
Le Jie isn't someone who lacks sense of propriety, but after what happened last night, her friendship with Ming Dai has taken a step further.
She had no intention of prying into Mingdai's privacy, but she desperately wanted Mingdai to be happy.
Le Jie rested the back of her head against the wall, looking up at the ceiling of the corridor.
She seemed to be talking to herself.
"Human nature can be really despicable at times. It seems to be an immutable law that money corrupts people. We always encounter true feelings when we are at our lowest point, but lose everything when we are at our peak."
Mingdai looked up and gazed at the ceiling.
She understood what Sister Le meant: she was reminding her of Mo Tingchuan's change of heart, and also telling her that this was human nature and there was no need to be sad, because no one could escape it.
After a moment of silence, Sister Le changed the subject.
"Qin Weiwei insisted that she was innocent, saying that her friend had plotted against her, and that she only gave her the chocolates at her friend's request, and that she didn't know what they were for."
Sister Le glanced at Mingdai and said, "Mo Tingchuan also called me, and his words were clearly intended to cover up for Qin Weiwei."
Mingdai was not surprised by this situation.
"Then her best friend must really hate her."
Qin Weiwei's attempt to harm others backfired, resulting in the loss of several close friends. In this instance, her cleverness backfired.
snort!
After visiting Xiangxiang, Mingdai received a call from her mother, telling her to come home when she had time.
Judging from her mother's tone, Mingdai knew that what happened last night had already become the talk of the town.
She went to the market to buy some food and drinks, then went into a brand store to buy her mother a bag. When she was paying, she saw a watch and suddenly thought of He Yaonian.
Since someone helped her investigate Mo Tingchuan's assets, shouldn't she offer some kind of reward?
Although He Yaonian offered to help, it would be too insensitive for her to just sit and enjoy it.
"Let me take a look at that watch."
After receiving the watch from the saleswoman, Mingdai asked about the price: around 300,000 yuan.
She does have some money; she can afford to buy it for around 300,000 yuan.
But she had seen different watches on He Yaonian's wrist, each worth millions, and some of them were simply unavailable on the market.
I can't even give away a sum of 300,000 or so.
never mind.
Mingdai bought it for her father.
When they arrived at the Ming family home, Ming's father was not there. Ming's mother had just arranged to have a small gathering with her sisters at noon, and she was currently getting ready.
"Mom, that's why we're so in sync. This moon-white cheongsam you're wearing is the perfect match for my bag."
Wanting to make her mother happy, Mingdai immediately took out her bag and went to compare it with her mother's from left to right.
No one knows a daughter better than her mother. Ming's mother took the bag, looked it over a few times, and happily accepted it.
"Why didn't you say you were coming back today? You should have told me earlier that I wasn't making plans with my friends."
Ming's mother took her daughter's hand and led her out of the bedroom to the living room. She asked the servants to bring tea, snacks, and fruit, and hurriedly told the kitchen to quickly cook the medicinal cuisine that Ming Dai loved.
"No need, Mom."
Mingdai nestled sweetly into her mother's arms, just like when she was a child, rubbing her soft cheeks against her mother's chest.
"Mom, I'll just sit for a bit and then leave. I have an appointment too."
Ming's mother hugged her daughter tenderly, "Why didn't Tingchuan come back with you?"
Mingdai gave a wry smile, her tone remaining unchanged.
"He's so busy, he doesn't have time."
"Yeah?"
Ming's mother sneered and gently pushed her daughter away.
Staring into her daughter's eyes.
"Tell me the truth, what really happened last night?"
Mingdai moved to sit on the side and took an orange that the maid had brought, peeling it while hiding from her mother's gaze.
"What could possibly be wrong? It's all a misunderstanding."
Upon hearing this, Ming's mother immediately became angry.
"You think your mother is old and hard of hearing, right?"
"Where do you look old!"
Mingdai refused, gazing intently at her mother's plump, radiant face.
"You are still very young, like a peony in full bloom, full of charm."
"Stop being cheeky!"
Ming's mother glared at her daughter with feigned authority.
"I'm asking you, what exactly is going on between you and Tingchuan? I heard that he let people humiliate you in every way without saying a word?"
Mingdai peeled an orange and put it in her mouth.
Take a big bite.
Ouch, it's so sour.
"Mom, where did you buy these oranges? They're too sour. Don't buy them again. You've been ripped off."
"Who told you to interrupt?"
Enraged, Ming's mother snatched the orange from Ming Dai's hand and then shoved a strawberry into her hand.
Mingdai looked down at the bright red strawberries.
"Strawberries don't taste good this season."
"Mingdai!"
Mingdai sighed helplessly, biting the tip of the strawberry for a while before slowly opening her mouth.
"It's just... just a woman who admires Mo Tingchuan. She's jealous of me, so she took the opportunity to cause me trouble."
