Chapter 47 Don't Point Your Gun at Your Allies

Mingdai was still in bed when her mother called.

"Dai Dai, Ting Chuan just told your dad that he wants to have dinner together tonight."

Mingdai suddenly threw off the covers, her voice irritable.

What is he trying to do?

Ming's mother was puzzled. "What kind of tone is that? Haven't you two made up yet?"

Mingdai gritted her teeth.

"No, it's just that he's been quite busy, and I was a little surprised when he suddenly made plans to have dinner tonight."

"Huh? Didn't he discuss it with you?"

Mingdai dejectedly ruffled her hair haphazardly.

"I was probably too sleepy when I said it last night, and I was half asleep and didn't hear it clearly."

Ming's mother remained silent.

He added, "I guess he knows he made a mistake and wants to make a statement in front of me and your father. If you still don't want to forgive him, then..."

"It's okay, Mom, I'll be back tonight."

"We won't eat at home; Tingchuan said he'll order food from outside."

"knew."

After hanging up the phone, Mingdai cursed Mo Tingchuan's ancestors for eighteen generations, then removed Mo Tingchuan from her blacklist and made a phone call.

"What do you mean?"

Mo Tingchuan was more composed than Mingdai, and smiled broadly.

"They finally let me go?"

Mingdai's face darkened. "Threatening me with my parents? Hmm?"

"You're overthinking it. It's just a meal."

"What exactly is your purpose? What do you want to do?"

Mingdai couldn't guess what Mo Tingchuan was thinking. Did he really want to make a statement? Did he still want to pretend to be a good son-in-law?

"Mo Tingchuan, I really can't understand why you don't want a divorce. Do you really think you can pretend forever?"

Ignoring Mingdai's sarcastic remarks, Mo Tingchuan simply said, "Since we couldn't have dinner last time, I have a responsibility to apologize to my parents-in-law."

"Stop disgusting me!"

"I'll pick you up tonight."

Mo Tingchuan hung up the phone after he finished speaking.

Mingdai sat on the bed and brainstormed for a while before washing up and going out.

She went directly to the Mo family villa.

The maid opened the door.

Mingdai went straight to the point, "I'm looking for Qin Weiwei."

The maid was terrified.

When Mingdai saw the maid trying to stop her, she said, "If you dare touch me again, I'll faint immediately."

The maid had no choice but to let go and timidly pointed out the direction where Qin Weiwei was.

The morning sun was shining brightly, and the spring air was filled with birdsong and the fragrance of flowers, a scene of vibrant life.

Qin Weiwei sat in a daze on the small terrace next to the floor-to-ceiling window.

Mingdai's intrusion undoubtedly disturbed her peace and quiet.

Qin Weiwei was in a bad mood.

"Didn't I say no..."

Turning her head, Qin Weiwei saw that it was Ming Dai who had come. Her throat tightened, and the words she was about to say were completely stuck in her throat.

Mingdai stepped onto the glossy wooden floor of the terrace in her high heels.

He calmly observed the astonished Qin Weiwei.

"You know how to enjoy life better than I do."

Qin Weiwei stood up, supporting her stomach, and asked Mingdai warily, "How did you know I was here?"

Mingdai scoffed, "What do you think?"

Mingdai walked over, pulled up a stool, and sat down. The sun shone warmly on her eyelids.

Qin Weiwei didn't move and asked, "What are you doing here?"

Mingdai tilted her head back slightly, looking Qin Weiwei up and down.

His gaze swept over Qin Weiwei's still barely visible belly.

Do you know what your child went through after birth?

Qin Weiwei bit her lip and remained silent.

Mingdai smiled, her eyes narrowed.

“Mo Tingchuan himself was born out of wedlock, and he hated his birth more than anyone else, yet he still wanted his child to be like him.”

Qin Weiwei looked down at Ming Dai.

What do you want? To see me make a fool of myself?

"To be honest, I don't have any special feelings for you. Men are unfaithful because they can't resist temptation, it has little to do with women."

Mingdai rested her chin on her hand and pointed to the stool opposite her. "Sit down and let's talk. I won't do anything to you, so you don't need to be so defensive."

How could Qin Weiwei not be on guard?

She had imagined countless scenarios of meeting Mingdai, in which Mingdai would tear her to pieces the moment she met her.

Qin Weiwei pondered for a moment, then slowly sat down.

She has a child, while Mingdai's body cannot conceive. Mo Tingchuan needs offspring, so she is no less capable than Mingdai.

Qin Weiwei tried to relax, but her clenched teeth betrayed her tension.

Mingdai stared at Qin Weiwei for a while, then asked, "Do you want to marry Mo Tingchuan?"

Qin Weiwei stared blankly at Ming Dai.

Of course she wanted to.

She cannot allow her child to be born out of wedlock.

She also hoped that she could stand rightfully by Mo Tingchuan's side.

"You know Mo Tingchuan doesn't want a divorce, right?"

Mingdai leaned forward, staring intently at Qin Weiwei.

"Or did he just make empty promises, saying that if he divorced me one day, he would marry you right away?"

Qin Weiwei was breathing rapidly.

“He wants to give my child to you to raise, and he says that it is not the right time for you to get a divorce.”

"Are you willing?"

Qin Weiwei gave a sorrowful smile and asked Mingdai in return, "Are you willing?"

Mingdai leaned back in her chair.

"I have no interest in raising other people's children."

"So what exactly is the purpose of your visit?"

"You want to marry Mo Tingchuan, but I want to divorce him. What do you think my intentions are?"

Qin Weiwei questioned Ming Dai's statement regarding the divorce.

"Are you willing to leave him?"

Ming Dai was astonished.

"Would you be able to live peacefully with a man who betrayed you?"

Qin Weiwei glanced down at her stomach.

“Mingdai, your background, your kindness, and your good reputation do not allow Mo Tingchuan to divorce you. I don’t know how many interests are intertwined between you, but he will never put himself in a disadvantageous position.”
