Chapter 48 The Difficult Parting

Mingdai didn't really intend to harm the child; she just hoped Qin Weiwei could see the situation clearly.

In the afternoon, Mo Tingchuan came to pick up Mingdai as soon as he got off work.

"The restaurant reservation has been made. My parents said they'll go there by themselves later."

Mo Tingchuan called Mingdai's parents "Dad" and "Mom" very naturally.

She wouldn't have thought anything of it before, but now Mingdai feels disgusted and frowns at the mere mention of it.

"What's wrong? Don't you want to talk to me?"

Mo Tingchuan looked at Ming Dai's pretty, cold face and thought for a moment.

Q: When do you plan to move back to the bedroom?

Mingdai found it funny.

"Why would you move it back?"

“We are a married couple and should not live separately.”

"Before we broke up, you felt disgusted even by touching me. For three years, you remained chaste for your sweetheart. Why are you suddenly so fond of me?"

Mo Tingchuan was speechless.

A silence fell over the car.

When Mo Tingchuan's car stopped in front of the restaurant, Mingdai was somewhat surprised to see the restaurant sign.

This restaurant is the most expensive in the city, catering to the wealthy and powerful. Mo Tingchuan isn't exactly from a wealthy family, so he rarely comes here to dine.

Mingdai got out of the car, closed the door, and asked Mo Tingchuan, who was walking over.

How do I book here?

Mo Tingchuan scrutinized her expression. "You don't like it?"

Mingdai shrugged. "It's not like I'm the one paying."

She stepped inside.

"Mingdai".

Mo Tingchuan caught up with Mingdai and reached out to take her hand.

Mingdai avoided it out of disgust.

I warned him, "It's best not to go too far in front of my parents, and it's best if we don't embarrass each other."

Mo Tingchuan silently withdrew his hand. "I understand."

Upon entering the private room, Mingdai's parents had not yet arrived.

After sitting down, Mingdai looked at Mo Tingchuan, who was talking to the staff, with an arrogant air.

Noticing her gaze, Mo Tingchuan dismissed the staff and was about to walk towards her when Ming's parents arrived.

“Tingchuan, Daidai.”

Ming's mother was overjoyed to see her daughter and son-in-law together for so long.

"mom."

Mingdai stood up and looked at her parents who walked in with smiles on their faces.

"dad."

Mo Tingchuan moved closer to the door to greet the two elderly people.

"I thought you hadn't arrived yet."

Ming's father smiled as he looked Mo Tingchuan up and down, then reached out his hand to his daughter.

"Dad, look, I've been so busy lately that I haven't seen my daughter much."

Mingdai felt a sudden lump in her throat and went forward to hug her father.

"You're so busy all day long that we have to make an appointment to see you."

"I think you're just too lazy to go to the company. You went home yesterday, why didn't you come to the company to see me?"

Ming's father scolded his daughter, but his eyes were full of doting affection.

The group sat down. Ming's mother noticed that her daughter looked quite well, and then glanced at Mo Tingchuan, who hadn't said much.

"You've been brewing and giving Dai Dai her medicine every day?"

Mo Tingchuan was telling the staff that the dishes could be served.

Hearing the sound, he subconsciously glanced at Mingdai.

Mingdai lowered her eyes, a cold smile playing on her lips.

They even decocted medicine; it's already a miracle they didn't poison her to death.

Mo Tingchuan nodded shamelessly without changing his expression, "Mm."

He also asked Ming's mother, "You've almost finished drinking it. After you finish these few doses of medicine, do you want to continue drinking it?"

"Every medicine has some side effects, so stop taking it for a while."

Ming's father chimed in with a smile, "I asked the doctor, and it's fine to drink it after a while. In any case, her health needs to be taken good care of, and we can't be careless at all."

Mo Tingchuan nodded in agreement, "I think so too. She's taken a lot of different medications over the years, but the root cause has never been cured. She's also uncomfortable from taking medicine all the time, so it would be best if she could stop for a while."

Seeing that Mo Tingchuan was still the same good son-in-law he used to be, Ming's father felt much more at ease.

When the staff served the food, the door to the private room was left ajar and not closed properly.

Mo Tingchuan served food to Mingdai's parents and peeled shrimp for Mingdai in a very professional manner, acting like a well-trained and good husband.

Ming's mother saw this and was pleased.

She whispered to her daughter, "I think he has completely realized his mistake."

Mingdai didn't eat a single shrimp, but listened to her mother praising Mo Tingchuan.

She didn't want to ruin the atmosphere, but she couldn't help but try to sow discord between her and her mother.

"Mom, everyone says that once a man cheats, he'll cheat countless times. Do you think he might..."

"Nonsense! Didn't you say Tingchuan didn't do anything? How come you've convicted him of this crime?"

Mingdai: "..."

I forgot.

When Ming's mother noticed that her daughter hadn't eaten a single shrimp that Mo Tingchuan had peeled, she sighed softly to herself.

"He's already been very good at apologizing today. He booked the best restaurant, and he was very polite and courteous to me and your dad. He also took good care of you, adding food and soup to your plate. Even if you're still dissatisfied with him, you have to give him a way out in your marriage. Otherwise, how long are you going to keep ignoring him?"

Mingdai remained silent and ate her food quietly.

Ming's mother was helpless.

Just then, Mo Tingchuan's phone rang. He smiled apologetically at the group and pointed outside.

"I'm going to take this call."

After he left the private room.

Ming's father then asked Mingdai, "What's going on? Are you two having a fight?"

Ming's mother explained, "My daughter probably has some lingering resentment."

"If you really feel stifled, why not separate for a while?"

Ming's father always had his daughter's side.

He didn't want his daughter to suffer any injustice.

His precious daughter should live a happy and carefree life.

"That won't do."
