Chapter 55 It seems he has many misunderstandings about us.

"What?"

He Xingqiong didn't care much about anything else, but Mo Tingchuan and his sister wanted to acknowledge their ancestors.

joke.

"Impossible, Uncle San will not agree."

He Xingqiong told Mingdai with certainty.

“My grandfather was firmly against bringing Mo Tingchuan and her son to the He family before he passed away. Although I don’t know why my third uncle agreed to let Mo Tingchuan and her son return to the He family after my grandfather passed away, it doesn’t mean that Mo Tingchuan and her brother can be recognized as ancestors.”

This is a major event for the He family.

Of course, for Mo Tingchuan and his sister, it was like a carp leaping over the dragon gate.

"Who told you this?"

"Mo Tingchuan's mother."

Mingdai thought for a moment.

"But it's also possible that I misunderstood, and she didn't say it explicitly."

But she also felt that Mo Yumei's confidence seemed genuine.

He Yaonian pushed the door open and came in, and Mingdai didn't think about it anymore.

The private room was large, but for some reason, it suddenly felt much cramped as soon as He Yaonian entered.

He has such a strong presence.

He Xingqiong became much quieter, only keeping her head down and eating.

The two discussed work in front of Mingdai.

He Yaonian was very stern, and his questions made He Xingqiong tremble with fear, unable to even eat her meal.

Mingdai couldn't stand it anymore.

"Third Uncle, why don't we ask after we've eaten?"

She doesn't like talking about work at the dinner table; it affects her appetite too much.

He Yaonian looked at Mingdai.

Mingdai gave a dry laugh and made up an excuse.

"Xingqiong didn't eat the dinner on the plane; she was quite hungry."

He Xingqiong smiled gratefully at Mingdai.

He Yaonian realized he was wrong and nodded, "Okay, let's eat first."

Having dinner with He Yaonian wasn't very relaxing; we had nothing to talk about.

While it wasn't exactly dull, it certainly wasn't exactly joyful either.

Fortunately, we finished eating.

He Yaonian left first, while Mingdai and He Xingqiong returned to the villa together.

I received a call from Mo Tingchuan halfway there.

"Where?"

Mingdai looked out the window at the night view.

"Outside."

"Who did you see?"

"What's it to you?"

“Mingdai, you are my wife, and I have an obligation to know your whereabouts.”

"No law states that I am obligated to make you aware of this."

Mingdai hung up the phone.

He Xingqiong looked at her.

"Who is it? Mo Tingchuan?"

Mingdai frowned. "Hmm."

He Xingqiong found it extremely distasteful.

“If my third uncle really allows him to acknowledge his ancestors, I’ll be the first to move out. I will never share a roof with such an ungrateful person.”

For some reason, Mingdai found it funny.

"Aren't you living under the same roof as him now?"

“He’s just an illegitimate child now, not recognized by the He family. He’s an outsider, why should I care?”

Mingdai thought to herself, "I'm afraid this outsider has ulterior motives and is eager to turn the tables and become the master."

Halfway there, someone called Mingdai and said that He Yaonian had been in a car accident.

Mingdai and He Xingqiong rushed to the hospital in a panic and saw He Yaonian leaning against the hospital bed with his injured arm, his face a little pale.

"Third Uncle!"

He Xingqiong was the first to rush forward, so nervous that she wanted to hug He Yaonian's arm and check on him repeatedly.

"How could there be a car accident? Was it an accident or something else?"

The He family has encountered too many troubles, especially for someone of He Yaonian's status. Accidents are rare, but there are always people deliberately trying to cause him trouble.

"fine."

He Yaonian shook his head. "The insurance company is already handling it."

He looked at Mingdai.

Mingdai consciously moved closer to the sickbed.

Looking down at He Yaonian's arm wrapped in gauze.

"Is the injury serious?"

It was wrapped up very tightly, and the injury was not visible.

Mingdai asked He Yaonian with concern.

"Where else are you injured? Have you been injured again?"

He Yaonian remained silent, staring intently at her with a gaze that was quite thought-provoking.

Mingdai didn't know why He Yaonian was looking at her like that, but she felt a strange flutter in her heart.

"Third Uncle..."

He Yaonian looked away, a faint smile playing on his lips. "It's nothing."

He Xingqiong, however, collapsed to the bedside as if the sky had fallen, carefully holding He Yaonian's hand, and buried her head in her hands, sobbing.

He Yaonian said helplessly, "I'm fine."

He Xingqiong didn't speak, but she cried even more and more sadly.

Mingdai then realized that He Yaonian was more than just a third uncle to the younger generation of the He family. Blood was thicker than water, there was the affection of constant companionship, the strict guidance, and the umbrella that sheltered them from the storm...

He Yaonian is the pillar of the He family and an inextinguishable light in the hearts of the younger generation. If something happens to him, the sky will indeed fall for the younger generation.

Mingdai went out to find a doctor and carefully inquired about He Yaonian's injuries before returning to the ward with peace of mind.

He Xingqiong was still crying.

He Yaonian got annoyed by her crying and had no choice but to call He Xingjian.

He Xingjian arrived as if she had been launched on a rocket.

His face was deathly pale when he rushed into the ward.

"Third Uncle!"

This was the first time Mingdai had ever seen this refined and gentle man lose his composure since she had known him.

He Xingjian rushed to He Yaonian and nervously looked him up and down.

He Xingjian's eyes were red, and the intense fear in them was hard to hide.

"Take her back."

He Yaonian ignored He Xingjian's ongoing emotional processing and gestured with his chin towards He Xingqiong, who was standing to the side with teary eyes.

He Xingqiong pouted, unwilling, "I'm not going back."

He Xingjian's hands, hanging by her sides, trembled slightly.

Mingdai stepped forward and whispered to He Xingjian, "Third Uncle is fine, he just injured his arm a little, it's not serious."
