After listening to Mingdai's words, Mo Qingying stared at Mingdai for a long time without moving.
Mingdai tilted her head in a coquettish manner.
What's your decision?
Mo Qingying suddenly pushed her away and stood up.
Mingdai was pushed to the ground and didn't move. She looked up and met Mo Qingying's gaze.
Mo Qingying, thinking she had seen through Ming Dai's thoughts, looked down at her condescendingly.
"You're only now thinking of currying favor with me? Ha, it's really too late."
A fierce glint appeared in Mo Qingying's eyes as she stared coldly at Ming Dai.
"Just wait, my brother will divorce you soon, and the position you're unwilling to give up will soon belong to Qin Weiwei."
Mo Qingying turned and left arrogantly.
Mingdai chuckled softly, but it probably wouldn't be that easy.
The next day, Mingdai and a group of wealthy women went on a spring outing, and Sister Le was among them.
"It's been a long time since I've been out for a stroll."
Sister Le opened her arms to feel the refreshing breeze from nature.
The park was filled with birdsong and fragrant flowers, a truly pleasant place where the wives left their children behind for a rare moment of peace and quiet.
Mingdai squinted and looked into the distance; someone was flying a kite.
This park has a wide view and a very large lawn, making it perfect for running, camping, or doing anything else.
It was almost noon, so Mingdai and Sister Le set out the meal together.
"Mo Tingchuan didn't notice, did he?"
Sister Le is worried that Mingdai is blocking Mo Tingchuan's path to wealth and that Mo Tingchuan will cause trouble for her.
Mingdai took out a sandwich and examined it. It looked delicious, and the colors were very appealing.
"How could we let him find out so easily?"
Mingdai then took fruit from the other ladies' baskets and arranged it on the table.
"The total value of these orders must be at least a million."
Sister Le took a bite of the strawberry and exclaimed, "So sweet."
Mingdai waved to everyone, inviting them to lunch.
"Only a million or so."
Mingdai and Sister Le exchanged glances and winked at each other with smiles.
Sister Le chewed on her strawberries without saying a word.
But suddenly recalling the sweet scenes of Mingdai and Motingchuan together in the past, I can't help but feel a pang of sadness.
We all had lunch together, chatting about everyday things and gossip.
Mingdai didn't talk much; she spent most of her time listening.
When they had almost finished eating and some people were going to fly kites, Mingdai decided to lie down and rest for a while.
Just as he was about to cover his face with his pretty straw hat, a lady sat down next to him.
"Mingdai".
The lady seems to have something on her mind.
Mingdai paused for a moment, then slowly stood up.
"What's wrong?"
The lady stared at her for a moment.
With a helpless sigh.
"If I didn't know, that would be fine, but I found out anyway. If I don't tell you, I'll feel guilty."
Mingdai: "?"
The wife said, "Your sister-in-law recently ordered several sets of jewelry, worth several million, which isn't cheap. But I think you should investigate her sourcing channels more carefully."
Mingdai seemed to be deep in thought.
The wife continued, "My friend was scammed by that jewelry salesperson and lost a lot of money. The other party has a powerful background and often operates overseas. Recently, they have been causing trouble in China again. The police have not made any progress due to various forces involved. Anyway, I just wanted to give you a heads-up."
The spring outing didn't end until the afternoon.
Mingdai called Qin Weiwei.
"Has Mo Qingying ordered any jewelry recently?"
She knew that Mo Qingying and Qin Weiwei were close, and she would tell Qin Weiwei everything.
Qin Weiwei did not hide anything.
"Yes, it's ordered."
Which brand is it?
"It seems to be someone she knows. She said they are all high-quality goods, with market prices in the tens of millions."
Mingdai: "...Did you take a portion of the goods?"
"I heard it was a cash-on-delivery transaction, and Qingying signed a contract with the other party."
Mingdai's lips curled slightly. "Is there a penalty for breach of contract?"
"Hmm, it seems to be three times."
Do you know that acquaintance?
Hearing this, Qin Weiwei became less willing to cooperate.
"What? You want to buy jewelry too?"
Mingdai nodded, "Yes, I have some connections to smooth things over with recently. If I can get a good set below market price, I'd like to get one too."
"I heard it's not cheap, often costing over a million."
Qin Weiwei doesn't have that money.
Mingdai smiled and said, "I've had a bit of a falling out with her. If you know how to contact that person, please let me know."
Qin Weiwei remained silent for a moment.
"Mingdai, I won't help you unconditionally."
"How could it be unconditional? You have to believe that no matter when or where, I will never compete with you for the position of Mo Tingchuan's wife. As long as the time for divorce is right, I will immediately give way to you."
"But when is the right time?"
"You'll have to ask that."
Qin Weiwei said unhappily, "Are you trying to use me as a pawn?"
Mingdai chuckled, "At most, it's a mutually beneficial deal, a transaction between two willing parties, isn't it?"
Qin Weiwei hesitated, but had no choice but to trust Mingdai.
"I'll let you know when I get it."
Mingdai interjected.
"Don't tell her it's for me, otherwise she'll be looking for me everywhere and getting upset."
"Know."
That evening, Mo Qingying had dinner at the Mo family villa.
“Sister-in-law, let me tell you, Mingdai actually thinks she can make me forget the unpleasant past and tries to curry favor with me so that I can speak well of her in front of my brother. She doesn’t want to divorce my brother at all. I thought she was so noble, but it turns out she’s just vain and can’t bear to give up her wealth and status.”
Looking at Mo Qingying's arrogant face under the light, Qin Weiwei silently put a piece of pork rib on her plate.
