Chapter 72 He Yaonian Waits for a Rabbit to Fall into His Trap

Mingdai didn't really want to go to the He family villa; she felt quite comfortable living in her own apartment.

But once she got into He Yaonian's car, she didn't dare say anything in refusal.

But too much quiet makes me restless.

Mingdai only regretted that she could never be at ease in front of He Yaonian.

If she were more at ease, she could just be quiet, but...

"Third Uncle, I heard you went on a business trip these past few days?"

Mingdai made conversation even when she had nothing to say.

He glanced at He Yaonian, then immediately looked ahead.

He Yaonian, with one hand on the steering wheel, looked at Mingdai upon hearing the sound.

He nodded. "Yes."

Mingdai responded with an "oh," and casually added, "No wonder I haven't seen you much these past few days."

He Yaonian narrowed his eyes, "Have you looked for me?"

Mingdai was stunned. Why did she want to see him?

He shook his head. "No."

"You haven't made a single phone call?"

Is he blaming her for not caring about him?

But he doesn't lack her attention, does he?

"Is Uncle tired when he goes on business trips?"

Let's pretend to care for a few words then, since it's a topic of conversation anyway.

He Yaonian seemed amused, and a hint of interest flickered in his deep black eyes.

Dingding stared at Mingdai for a few more moments without saying a word.

Mingdai blushed for no apparent reason.

She knew he had seen through her spur-of-the-moment concern, which was just empty talk.

"Um, did Uncle encounter anything interesting while on his business trip?"

It's just awkward small talk; we can keep going until we reach the He family villa.

She believed she could do it.

He Yaonian smiled and said, "There really aren't any interesting ones."

Well, he doesn't want to have a proper conversation.

Mingdai lost interest and simply shut her mouth.

I turned my head to look at the scenery outside the window.

The car was going very fast, and you couldn't see anything in the blink of an eye, but it was better than nothing.

Once Mingdai had truly calmed down, He Yaonian suddenly asked a question.

"You haven't stayed at the villa these past few days?"

How did he know?

Mingdai slowly turned her gaze away from outside and looked at He Yaonian suspiciously.

No reply.

He Yaonian asked, "Why aren't you living in a villa anymore?"

Q: "Is there anywhere you're not comfortable staying?"

Mingdai thought for a long time before shaking her head.

"No."

She didn't explain anything, gave He Yaonian a forced smile, and then looked out the window.

He Yaonian remained silent.

Upon arriving at the villa, Mingdai deliberately slowed her pace, waiting for He Yaonian to go inside before she dawdled upstairs.

Unexpectedly, He Yaonian was waiting for her at her door.

This is where the downside of living on the same floor comes into play.

Mingdai couldn't pretend she hadn't seen it and back away.

Meanwhile, He Yaonian, who had been waiting patiently, had already seen her come up.

Mingdai didn't get too close. Her high heels clicked with every step, and the sound seemed to deliberately disturb her mind. She hesitated for a moment, lifting her skirt, and stopped when she was still several steps away.

"Third Uncle."

Mingdai wore her hair up tonight, looking elegant and radiant. Under the lights, her almond-shaped eyes were bright, and her full red lips were alluring.

"You...you need something from me?"

He Yaonian was tall and handsome, and looked dashing in a handmade suit.

He walked closer to Mingdai because she wouldn't approach him.

"It's nothing."

He Yaonian arrived in front of Mingdai.

He was tall, and he looked down at her.

Mingdai had long, distinct eyelashes, a delicate nose, and fair, soft, and tender cheeks.

He Yaonian handed her a gift box.

"I don't have much to bring on my business trip, but this is quite pretty, so you can take it."

The gift box is made of black velvet and wrapped with red and gold thread, making it look incredibly expensive under the light.

The part that was sealed open was adorned with a lustrous pearl.

"this……"

Mingdai asked a crucial question, which was also the key to whether or not to accept the gift.

Does everyone have one?

If she were the only one who had it, she probably wouldn't accept the gift.

It doesn't make sense, either logically or emotionally.

"have."

He Yaonian laughed heartily, "You want to be alone?"

Mingdai glared at her almond-shaped eyes and retorted with red ears, "I didn't."

He Yaonian has a charmingly handsome face and a hearty smile.

"Next time I see something interesting, I'll bring it back for you separately."

He also teased Mingdai, "Don't you just like things that are interesting?"

Mingdai was making conversation even when she had nothing to say.

Mingdai grabbed the gift. "Thank you, Third Uncle."

Feeling embarrassed by the teasing, I barged back to my room.

After leaning against the door for a moment to catch her breath, Mingdai still felt her heart pounding wildly as she looked up.

After taking a shower and changing clothes, I sat back on the bed and noticed the neatly arranged gift boxes on the bedside table.

After thinking for a moment, he turned over and took it.

Upon opening it, it turned out to be a gemstone necklace.

It was almost identical to the style she had previously chosen from a jewelry scammer.

this……

Could this be a coincidence?

She suddenly remembered that night when He Yaonian cornered her in the kitchen, reminded her that he knew what she had done, and told her to ask him for help if she needed anything.

Does he know a jewelry scammer?

I couldn't resist getting out of bed and putting on the necklace in front of the mirror.

This necklace is rarely seen on the market; it should be a privately commissioned limited edition. The gemstones are flashy, crystal clear, youthful, and playful, making it perfect for brightly colored dresses. Occasionally, it can also be paired with a formal suit to soften the seriousness.

Overall, it's quite practical.

It's practical, but the price...

Mingdai sat back on the bed and took out her phone to search for prices.

Unfortunately, I can't find it.

Even similar imitations are rare, and the price of imitations can be several thousand.

Mingdai knew perfectly well that, based on her knowledge of jewelry, this necklace would cost at least a million.
