"I don't need your kindness."
Out of the corner of her eye, Ming Dai noticed several men and women she didn't recognize waiting for Mo Qingying not far away.
She never believed that Mo Qingying would actually give the watch to Mo Tingchuan.
If I'm not mistaken, Mo Qingying herself didn't have any money, but seeing that she had spent millions on this watch, she wanted to use it to curry favor.
"Your friends seem to still be waiting for you."
Mingdai smiled meaningfully, "Then I'll be going now."
"Hey you!"
How could Mo Qingying let Mingdai leave like that? That watch costs over three million, and her friend likes it too; she said she would give it to him.
Mo Qingying caught up with Ming Dai outside the door.
"Let me take a look at your watch. I didn't examine it closely at the auction."
Mingdai's wrist was being pulled, preventing her from moving, but she was carefully protecting the bag containing her watch.
"Mo Qingying, what exactly do you want to do?"
She reminded Mo Qingying, "What if your friends see you like this? Wouldn't it look like you're being persistent and making no sense of image?"
Mo Qingying paused for a moment, then immediately released Ming Dai's wrist.
She explained haltingly.
"I just wanted to see what kind of watch could be so valuable, it was just curiosity."
Whether it was out of curiosity or a desire to embezzle, Mingdai wasn't stupid.
"You can just place an order for jewelry worth millions of dollars without hesitation. Watches are also jewelry, so what's so hard to understand?"
Mingdai found it amusing. "Besides, this is something I photographed and bought with my own money. Why should I show it to you? If you're curious, you can simply take your own pictures!"
Mo Qingying was furious and embarrassed.
If she had money, Mingdai wouldn't have gotten her turn!
"You're being too stingy. It's just for looking at. Anyway, it's a gift for my brother, and I'll see it sooner or later."
Mingdai shrugged.
"He doesn't deserve to wear this watch."
"Then who are you going to give it to?"
Mo Qingying scrutinized Ming Dai.
Mingdai ignored her.
"I won't keep you from having fun with your friends any longer, goodbye."
Mingdai got into a taxi and went to see a movie with the wealthy woman she had arranged to meet beforehand.
The wealthy woman insisted on taking her home, and Mingdai gave her the apartment address.
I ended up sleeping in the apartment that night.
Unbeknownst to her, Mo Qingying had already told Mo Tingchuan about her taking a picture of the watch.
“Brother, I’m sure she really doesn’t want to divorce you. She’s using that watch to pledge her allegiance to you, but you absolutely cannot forgive her easily. No, you should say you absolutely cannot be soft-hearted.”
On one hand, Mo Qingying was thinking about how to get her brother to quickly get rid of Mingdai, and on the other hand, she was plotting how to get the watch.
Mo Tingchuan was overjoyed when he heard that Mingdai had bought him a watch worth millions.
At least for this moment, he briefly stopped thinking about his own wealth and glory, and instead hoped for a sweet and happy life with Mingdai.
At the same time, Mo Tingchuan was smug.
He said that Mingdai could never forget him. The more Mingdai outwardly showed hostility and dislike towards him, the more she actually liked him and couldn't let him go.
"Brother, can I borrow the watch for a few days after you get it?"
After much deliberation, Mo Qingying felt that getting the money from her brother was the most reliable option.
Mo Tingchuan was lost in his beautiful fantasy. "No."
Mo Qingying got angry, "You're so stingy too? It's not like I'm not going to pay you back."
Mo Tingchuan was puzzled. "Didn't you say that's a men's watch? It's not suitable for a girl like you."
"I'm not myself..."
I almost got caught.
Mo Qingying bit her lip in time.
Mo Tingchuan looked at her, "What did you say?"
Mo Qingying felt guilty and then became angry.
"nothing."
She was dejected. She needed to present a decent watch to her friend. She had finally managed to enter high society, and a watch worth millions was her stepping stone. She couldn't afford to give up here.
Mingdai didn't return that night. The next day, she had lunch with several other ladies, eating and drinking, and they found out everything she wanted to know.
I learned that Mo Tingchuan is planning another project worth over five million.
"We're almost ready to sign the contract."
The glamorous lady couldn't stop smiling as she accepted the bracelet worth hundreds of thousands of dollars from Mingdai.
"I used to think you were aloof, but who knew you were such a lively person."
The lady held Mingdai's hand and said, "Don't worry, I'll keep a close eye on this matter. I'll tell you immediately if there's any sign of trouble."
Mingdai asked gratefully, "I heard your daughter likes to play the violin, is that right?"
The woman chuckled knowingly, "It's just something to play with, kids will be kids, it's just a passing interest."
Even so, Mingdai still took the violin that someone had given her to curry favor with her father from the storeroom and used it as a gift.
Since the Ming family has no artistic talent whatsoever—they can't play the violin and can't tell the difference between good and bad—they might as well put it to practical use.
After the dinner, Mingdai had a throbbing headache, an old problem.
The jewelry scammers are contacting her again.
This time, they called.
Mingdai chatted for a few minutes and learned from the jewelry swindler's intentional or unintentional revelations that Mo Qingying had ordered another watch.
This is a high-quality product worth 200,000 yuan. It's an exclusive model that you can't buy for millions of yuan on the market.
Mingdai smiled silently.
Mo Qingying has really gone mad; it seems she's completely convinced of the jewelry scammer's abilities.
"Then send me a picture of the watch. If Mo Qingying likes it, I should have one too."
The jewelry swindlers had roughly figured out the truth and knew that Mo Qingying didn't have much money, but Ming Dai might not.
So we have to catch Mingdai, this big fish, no matter what.
It was still early, so Mingdai took out two headache pills from her bag, then took a car to find He Yaonian.
I dozed off in the car for a while, and as the medication took effect, the pain subsided.
There was a gate access control when entering the park, so Mingdai called He Yaonian directly.
When she arrived at the building, she saw He Yaonian waiting at the entrance.
Mingdai was flattered and surprised that He Yaonian would come down to pick her up.
The man, dressed in a black suit, exuded maturity and mystery. Standing in the sunlight, his striking features were breathtaking.
Regardless of whether it was in accordance with the rules, Mingdai was very happy.
Mingdai got out of the car beaming with joy, her voice booming.
"Third Uncle."
He Yaonian tilted his head and took a few steps toward Ming Dai with his long legs.
Mingdai ascended the steps, her skirt swaying, the necklace around her neck dazzling.
"Third Uncle, did I disturb your work?"
Mingdai skipped and hopped over to He Yaonian with a smile, her two ponytails resembling a playful little deer.
"So happy?"
He Yaonian's gaze lingered on Mingdai's radiant face. "Where did you go last night?"
"It's in my apartment."
Mingdai waved the bag in her hand at He Yaonian.
"I brought you coffee."
He Yaonian smiled, revealing a tooth at the corner of his lips, looking incredibly handsome.
"Did you come here specifically to deliver coffee?"
Mingdai didn't answer; instead, she pulled at the necklace around her neck.
"Third Uncle, this necklace is so beautiful, thank you."
There is probably nothing more gratifying for a gift giver than seeing the recipient wearing the gift around their neck.
He Yaonian reached out and took the coffee.
"Shall we go upstairs and have a seat?"
