"You're still lying!"
Seeing his mother's stammering, Mo Tingchuan knew that the truth was not like that.
"You'd better tell me the whole truth."
Mo Tingchuan's throat bobbed as he tried to suppress his emotions.
Mo Yumei was startled by her son's reaction.
She had already suffered a lot of grievances today, and now her son not only didn't comfort her, but instead started yelling and shouting.
"What's wrong with you?!"
Mo Yumei burst into tears.
He criticized Mo Tingchuan.
“Your mother was bullied by them and came back here. Instead of asking how your mother is doing, why are you siding with outsiders to treat me like this?”
Mo Tingchuan's face stiffened.
Mo Yumei cried loudly, looking like she was about to die.
Mo Tingchuan had no choice but to apologize in resignation.
"I'm sorry, Mom, I didn't mean to, I just..."
"You're just worried about how Mingdai is doing, aren't you?"
Mo Yumei saw right through her son's thoughts.
"Have you forgotten how Mingdai's family looked down on you? Have you forgotten how Mingdai bullied us in our family? Have you forgotten that Mingdai's body is incapable of bearing you children, leaving you childless? Have you forgotten all of that?"
Mo Yumei's hatred for Mingdai was deeply rooted.
Mingdai's existence was originally a testament to the downfall of her Mo family. No matter how much Mingdai helped the Mo family rise again, she could never forget the humiliating days when she fawned over Mingdai.
She clearly has a distinguished status, and she could clearly be the first wife of the He family, but she still has to live by Mingdai's whims.
Why should I?!
Mo Yumei suddenly grabbed her son's suit collar.
"We must become members of the He family with dignity. We are willing to sacrifice anything for this path."
Mo Tingchuan held his mother's hand.
"I know."
Mo Yumei was pleased.
"Divorce Mingdai quickly. Half of the property is impossible. At most, give her 500,000. It wasn't you who pestered her to marry you in the first place. She liked you and forced herself to marry you."
Mo Yumei has completely abandoned all shame in order to protect her assets.
Mo Tingchuan was in great pain.
"Mom, I'll be talked about behind my back if I get a divorce."
"It's just a peaceful parting; you're overthinking it."
Besides, if they didn't get a divorce, He Yaonian would never agree to acknowledge the Mo family's identities.
“You and Weiwei’s child must be protected. Mingdai is ruthless and cruel; we must not give her the opportunity to harm the child.”
Mo Tingchuan nodded dejectedly, "I understand."
After spending a long time at the Mo family home, Mo Tingchuan called Mingdai after leaving.
Mingdai accepted it.
Mo Tingchuan asked, "You want half of my property?"
Mingdai retorted, "Shouldn't we?"
Mo Tingchuan's smile was bitter. "Do you really want to divorce me?"
Mingdai found him ridiculous.
"Haven't I always wanted a divorce? What? You still think I was joking, don't you?"
Mo Tingchuan didn't think that way.
Although at first I did think Mingdai was joking.
But now...
"I don't want a divorce."
Mingdai slammed down the phone.
Mo Tingchuan doesn't want a divorce, but someone will force him to. She's not in a hurry.
He Yaonian didn't get home until evening, and He Xingjian had already told him almost everything that had happened at home.
Mingdai had been waiting in the living room, and as soon as she saw He Yaonian, she immediately went up to greet him.
"Third Uncle, you're back."
He even reached out to take the briefcase from He Yaonian's hand, acting like a complete sycophant.
He Yaonian glanced at her, then let go of her hand and let her take the briefcase.
Mingdai quickly asked, "Has Third Uncle had dinner yet?"
He Yaonian gave a meaningful chuckle, "No."
"That's perfect, I don't have any either."
Mingdai held He Yaonian's briefcase, her almond-shaped eyes sparkling.
"Can I eat with Uncle San?"
He Yaonian's throat bobbed, as if he wanted to say something, but he swallowed the words back.
"I'll go wash my hands first."
While He Yaonian was washing his hands, Mingdai carefully put away his briefcase, and the housekeeper had already instructed the servants to set out the meal in the dining room.
The other young masters and ladies of the He family all hid in their rooms, because Mingdai was determined not to let them show their faces again.
After He Yaonian washed his hands and went to the restaurant, Ming Dai was already sitting obediently waiting for him.
He Yaonian loosened his tie.
Why are you being so attentive today?
Are you asking a question you already know the answer to?
How could Mingdai not know that He Yaonian already knew everything?
When will he ever be able to keep anything from us, big or small, from us?
"What are you saying, Uncle? Can't I eat with you if you haven't eaten? Or do you not want me to keep you company?"
Oh!
She's quite good at playing the victim.
He Yaonian pulled up a stool and sat down next to Mingdai.
Mingdai was stunned.
She looked up at He Yaonian's exquisite profile.
He Yaonian picked up his chopsticks.
He met Mingdai's gaze.
Aren't you going to eat?
Mingdai realized what was happening and quickly went to serve He Yaonian some soup.
He Yaonian did not stop it.
Halfway through the meal, Mingdai whispered, "Third Uncle, something happened at home today."
He Yaonian remained calm and replied, "Mm."
Waiting for Mingdai to continue.
Mingdai gently stirred the soup in the bowl with a spoon.
He told He Yaonian the words he had prepared long ago.
“My uncle wanted to stay away from home for a while, so Mo Yumei and her daughter went with him.”
He Yaonian paused slightly as he picked up some food.
I was somewhat surprised.
Mingdai felt guilty, and her ears turned red.
She herself felt uneasy telling such a obviously unbelievable lie.
